I had a dress altered for a wedding I was in. When I picked the dress up I noticed they had changed out the nice heavy duty zipper that came with the dress with a smaller zipper. When I tried to zip up the dress when it wasn't even on my body I noticed it would get stuck in the middle where there was a seam at the waist of the dress. Well I've dealt with that before so I just decided to deal with it. Well, two days later when I zipped it up for the wedding, the zipper completely split and was irreparable for the wedding. I was the MOH and NEEDED this dress so literally had to be sown into the dress. There was still space in the dress so it's not like I just didn't have room and was forcing the zipper. When I confronted the seamstress she told me it was my fault and there was nothing she could do. This dress was very expensive and I am upset that it is now unwearable ever again. read more

I had a pair of jerks "re-soled" at this store. She wasn't sure they could do it. Called me a couple of days later and said yes they could do it for $35. They DID NOT re-sole my shoes! They just tried to glue the pieces that were falling apart. Looks and feels terrible! I also asked about cleaning a king comforter. She told me "$25". When I brought the comforter in she said $40. When I told her she gave me a price of $25 she denied it and said she "never" said that. I will not be back! I try to support of local community businesses, not this one. read more

Very good work altering my bridesmaids dress, but was a bit pricey. Overall, great communication and work.

I had the owner, May, alter a cocktail dress for my daughter. It turned out wonderful...we were happy. Based on this and the shining recommendations of others, we took 2 ball gowns to be altered. One of the dresses was dropped off in a jewel-toned blue...when we went to pick it up, its ruffles were faded to nearly white on the left side. I told May that it was a different color and she told me 'she didn't do anything to it.' I tried the dresses on my daughters and the alterations were subpar. The faded one was much too tight in the bust and very loose in the waist. The other was more than 4 inches too short (from the floor), it was visibly uneven, and the closure at the neck was ill-fitting and coming apart at the seams. You can tell a lot about business owners when a problem arises. I told May I was not happy. She started to let out the seam on the too-short dress. But, I couldn't get past the fading on the other dress. I collected the dresses and left. I immediately stopped by the store I bought the dress from and the owner confirmed that it was definitely faded....sun-faded, in fact. I realized that when I pulled up to the store, our other ball gown was in the front window. That window faces west in the Atlanta, 100 degree summer days. I don't know how long either dress hung in the window, but she had our dresses for about 2-3 weeks. There is a rack with several unprotected dresses in this direct sunlight. My husband and I returned the next day. We felt that we should be refunded our alteration money since we had to have both dresses redone. Of course, she offered to fix them, but we felt that based on the quality of work, we would like to take them to someone more qualified. We also decided that the extreme fading on the left side rendered the dress unwearable. We also requested that they pay to have that dress replaced. The alterations were $320 (for both dresses) and the replacement cost of the ruined ball gown is $300. We asked for $620 back. We brought an original catalog image of how the dress looked when we brought it in and even said they could keep the dress...we weren't trying to get a free dress out of this. We really need to replace the dress. May's husband remained very level-headed and business like (kudos for that). Unfortunately, I can't say the same for May. She asked us "why would you want to cheat me?" She kept saying "I am old....why would I change the ruffles on the dress?" We maintained that we brought the dress in 1 color and now it is another color (on 1 side) and it needs to be replaced. She showed us a brown satin dress that had been in the window..."Why wouldn't this one be faded?" Well, I am no scientist, but I do know that different fabric dyes are made from different chemicals...I also know that our ruffles were not satin...they were a sheer fabric....but I do think it lies in the dye being sensitive to direct sunlight. May's husband refunded our alteration costs ($320). I am certain I will spend that for the alterations to fix the dresses. But, they refused to pay for the replacement cost of the dress...I have to replace it...so I am out another $300....this $300 dress is now a $600 dress. They said they will take no responsibility for the sun fading on the dress. When ABC Alterations gives us replacement cost for the dress, we will remove this review. read more

DON'T BRING YOUR WEDDING DRESS HERE. If I could give negative stars I would. I was recommended to ABC thru FBook and even tho I was a little disturbed in the run down, smelly, messy, condition of her shop I trusted others opinions and recommendations. BIG MISTAKE. I took my wedding dress to ABC in August to have alterations made before my Sept wedding. When I went to pick up the dress it was my worst nightmare. The dress was 3-4 inches too short in the front and my feet were hanging out the bottom. My arms barely fit into the arm holes, due to Mai shorting the straps so much, she also didn't even bother to complete the bustle on the dress that I had paid her for. After trying on the dress on and finding all these problems I asked Mai to repair/fix the issues and her response was "No, no, work all ready done. You pay more." I paid Mai $180 for the needed alterations and nothing she touched was even close to being correct or quality work. I left the shop so upset, I had less than two weeks till my wedding and then had to pay another alterations specialist $160 to correct the problems Mai created. I can not stress enough how disappointing it is when people do not stand behind their work and take advantage of others. After deciding to stop payment on my CC charge, ABC alterations is now alleging they offered to repair the dress free of charge.. That is total BS. This place came highly recommended from friends so we took my fiancé veil here to be steamed. Steamed being the operative word here because the next day they caller her and said they had burnt a hole through the veil... They said they would pick out a few veils that looked similar and overnight it to steam and return to my fiancé. My fiancé went to see what they picked and they weren't even the right color much less anything she wanted so she asked for her money back for the veil which was $140. They refused and told her to pick one my fiancé said she's not picking one and left. Then I called them and exchanged words, in which they agreed if she brought in the receipt they would refund her. The next day they called her to tell my fiancé they ordered a $30 veil for her. She reiterated the conversation I had with them and they told her they never told me that! So again I called and asked why they were lying to her and told them that she will be there with a receipt and that they will refund us for the veil they ruined. She finally agreed. This place is so poorly managed, who ruins someone's property only to refuse to pay them for the damages?? Not something you want to deal with 7 days before the big day. read more

Extremely disappointed. I had my wedding dress dry cleaned here and it looks like they didn't even do anything to it. I also had a bridesmaid dress hemmed and it wasn't done correctly, because I ended up tripping over the dress the entire night. The workers are also quite rude at this place. Waste of money. They came recommended by a family member. I needed to have the long sleeves on a dress cut off and use the material to fill in a very deep "V" in the front of the dress. They did the worst job ever. They literally just tacted the material in place. When I say tact, I mean they put stitches in 3 corners. They did not open the seams, but stitched next to them. It was awful! AND they charged me $33 in advance. I absolutely DO NOT recommend them for anything. I'm trying to post pics but can't figure out how. Trust me...they're NOT worth the trip. Took my daughter's homecoming dress in to be alerted. First the lady kept telling me that we ordered it to big. Um, yeah, that's why we were there. Then their DOG PEE'D on my daughter's clothes in the changing room while she was being fitted. The lady wiped her clothes with a diaper wipe then told my daughter to put her clothes back on. WHAT?????? She never offered a discount or anything. DISGUSTING!!!!!! It was like it was no big deal. We took our dress and my daughter and left. Luckily I had on a sweater over my top so I took that off for my daughter to wear home. read more

Do not take your wedding dress here!!!! I spent over $250 in alterations here and then she wanted to charge me an extra $50 to press the dress! Every other alterations place would NOT charge for this!!! After the first round of alterations, I was not happy with the fit but May kept insisting the fit was fine. I took the dress home and tried it on again for my friend and when I put my arms up (as if I might do to dance), the dress FELL OFF. I took it back and she altered it again. This time the dress was tighter, but bulging on the side where she took it in. I am now having to take my dress to another alterations shop and pay MORE money to have it fixed correctly. Take your time and find a place with several good reviews before trusting somewhere with your dress. This place is ok for pants and shirts, but NOT wedding dresses!!! read more

I'm on my third alterations project with ABC. They just did an amazing job on my curtains, and have previously worked on clothes sizing and fixing zippers. I brought 2 dresses in and gave her over 1 month to get them done. she started working on them the day before i called to see if they were ready which was only 1 day before promised. We showed up and and the dresses looked good with the exception of one of my dresses missing the tie for the corset which I KNOW I left with the dress because i had to try it on in order for her to hem it correctly. Upon trying it on there was not tie to be found and she said we did not leave it numerous times and I KNOW we did. well after we tried it on and I was pissed because this was for a party the following week she found it tied inside the dress and did not even apologize for saying we did not leave it. This exp left a bad taste in my mouth and I just did not like being told I did not do something that meant as much to me as the dress did. The dresses came out great but her customer service was terrible she was talking to her hubby I am going to guess in her native language when we kept saying we left it with her etc so who knows what she was saying. I've used them MANY times on uniforms and most of my wardrobe when I lost a drastic amount of weight....they are sweet, friendly people, and do AMAZING work. They are always busy, and generally take about a week to get 3-4 pieces redone.....I will not use anyone else to do my clothes, they've earned my loyalty over 6-8 years. read more
