I've read some mixed reviews on this place and had a bit of a mixed experience myself. This was my first experience with any alterations place so I wasn't sure what to expect. When I first arrived I was greeted by what I assume is the owner. She was professional and prompt. Asked what I needed, got me into my suit and measured in a matter of minutes which I appreciated. I needed to have my suit pants and jacket sleeves hemmed. I dropped off on a Monday and needed the following Thursday (so about 10 days). I felt this was an ample amount of time but again, my first experience so I wasn't sure. The lady seemed to give the impression this was a quick turn but told me she could do it. The cost was $70 which I honesty don't know is good or bad. It didn't really matter to me, what was important was getting it done. I showed up Thursday only to learn my suit wasn't complete. This was a huge disappointment. Thankfully I planned ahead and told her Thursday knowing I wouldn't need it until Friday evening. She promised me it would be done Friday morning and when I returned the next day it was done. It looks great. My advice would be to always give yourself a day or two extra and just live with the expectation they will not get it done in time. Don't set yourself up for disaster. read more

Reworked a dress my husband purchased- too small to a perfect fitting skirt - reasonable rates and timely

I took 2 items in for alternations 3 weeks before a cruise. During the initial drop off, the lady that did the pinning, measurements and pricing said that it was going to "cost a lot" to have the pieces altered. I said that I was willing to pay her rates. I have to say, $150 for one garment being hemmed, and the other needing some alterations in the bodice along with hemming, I feel like I paid a large amount for these alterations. Then the employee said that my items would be done in a week. I did tell her that it was ok with picking the items up 2 weeks later. Fast forward 2 weeks. I stopped in only to find out my items were not done. In fact, I finally received my items 2 days prior to leaving on my cruise. However, the worst part was, only the one item that needed hemming was completed. The item that needed alterations to the bodice and hem was just as I left it 2 1/2 weeks before. Therefore, based on my experience, I would absolutely discourage anyone from using this business unless you are willing to only have very simple alterations done, and are willing to pay a premium rate. read more

The alterations were done neatly and in a timely manner. Great value as well. I brought in a pair of suit pants that done exactly as I wanted. Shortened a pleased dress done very neat and kept the pleats crispy and sharp. read more

Well I was reeeeeally hoping I could get my bridesmaid dress altered for under $20 as well after reading Christine's review but no such luck. I suppose that was 4 years ago though. ;-) Otherwise, I ditto Christine in her assessment of this place. I've only seen 2 ladies in here, but I have only worked with one. She was very pleasant both times when I stopped by. I got a bridesmaids dress hemmed and taken in at the bust. The material of the dress was chiffon and very delicate. When I picked up my dress I noticed upon inspection her work was accurate, detailed, and seamless (no pun intended). I paid about $70 but I find that to be reasonable for the work required and the type of garment. Alterations took about a week or...rather I picked it up a week later. This place took a week to do a simple alteration to my dress for formal. That was fine, had no issues with that but when I picked it up and tried it on it was completely ruined. The dress looked worse than when i first took it in. The lady was not helpful or apologetic at all and offered to just give me my money back instead of fixing the mistakes she made. I took a bridesmaids dress in to be hemmed at the bottom and she charged me $78. I have never gotten a dress altered before, so I thought nothing of the price. I took another bridesmaid dress that needed to be hemmed at the bottom to a different alterations shop and was only charged $35. She told me it was because it was "wide", but it was a size 4 dress. I was completely taken advantage of. Do not use this alterations shop unless you are knowledgeable about how much you should be charged. read more

I am pleased with this company, though I had a large dress with a lot of material that needed to be hemmed only and I was charged as if it was 2 dresses. I was a little disappointed at that. Other than that, they finished in time and it was perfect length! read more

I took in 5 pairs of pants to have hemmed. We knew the inseam desired ahead of time, so that was not in the mix. The woman who took my order was meticulous and had a beautiful smile. She was honest about their being a lot of clothes being altered for formals, and asked if she could have a few extra days. I of course said yes. I picked them up on the scheduled date and they were taken care of accurately and the work was impeccable! I will definitely come back. read more

I don't think they have taken the American Business Etiquette 101 class, but they mean well. Just moved to Acworth & when I arrived with my alterations, she asked couldn't I find anything closer. Also told me she wasn't sure when my items would be ready. Since I wasn't in a hurry, I said okay, just call me. She called in about a week. When I called to ask how late they were open, she replied rather sharply, You come today? I said yes, if that's ok. Turns out she just wanted to make sure she waited for me. They did a great job on the alterations. One was a shirttail hem & you can't tell it was altered. read more

This place is awesome! I wish I were closer, because I would always go to them for alterations (I live in Dunwoody). I took 2 dresses to an alterations place in Dunwoody and was quoted $95 for everything I wanted done: $30 to hem a flowy dress, and $60 to take in and shorten the shoulder length on a lacy layered dress. I thought this was very pricey, so I decided to take them to Kennesaw Alterations when I went to visit someone in Kennesaw the next day. She quoted $60 for the exact same alterations and charged $55 when I came to pick them up. She did a fantastic job as well! I'm very happy. Highly recommend. read more
