I let four weeks go by. I then asked where it was. The guy said it was still in Evanston. I was in no hurry so I wasn't concerned at the time. I waited another two weeks. I asked again. This time the guy could not tell me when it would be done or where it was. He said he would call the owner and then call me back. He never called back. A week later I went back in and saw the same kid. I asked if he had called. He said he did but that the owner did not get back to him. He said he would leave another message for the owner. I then called during the week to find out where it was. The woman said she saw in the system that it had never been sent to Evanston. Instead, she saw that "they refused to clean it". No explanation beyond that was given. Just "they refused to clean it.". I was told I could come in and pick it up uncleaned. When I came in to get it, the woman knew who I was. No apology was given. She handed me the rug and told me it was uncleaned. I went down the street and dropped it off at another cleaner. They told me it would take two weeks. In two weeks, it was cleaned. I picked it up today. No apology was ever given by Lake City Cleaners. The rug was with them for two months with no explanation why it was not cleaned. Unacceptable. Additionally, one time when I was in dropping a cashmere sweater off, the kid working there had a buddy with him. The buddy was standing behind the counter and did not appear to be employed by the cleaners. When the kid asked if the sweater was cashmere, the buddy said, "oh, good thing you aren't dropping that off with me, I would ruin it." Really?

Then I get a text from my son this morning at 7am, asking about his suit, he is graduating in Florida on Friday and he'd really like to wear this suit. UGH!! A quick phone call, followed up with a visit later this morning, and they made it happen - the suit was dry cleaned and ready for pick up at 4pm today.
