You have to order through the mobile app at all dining options throughout the park. This spot is our usual because they have more options other than a burger or hot dog like most of the other dining establishments. The menu changes regularly here so I tried the Buffalo chicken grilled cheese that comes with steak fries. Food was all lukewarm although I had picked it up as soon as it was ready. The fries were nicely salted. The bread of the sandwich was nice and buttery and had a nice crisp to It. The filling was more so Buffalo chicken dip vs actual pieces of chicken like I had hoped. The filling kept falling out which was annoying. It came with a side of Buffalo ranch for dipping. Taste wasn't too spicy and the sandwich overall filled me up for lunch. You can't get any more on the nose about a rating for this place than a three star rating. My girlfriend and I came here for dinner after our fast passes, because we still have our annual pass holder discount here until September. There were plenty of registers, so the big line moved pretty fast, and even with the mass amount of people in that building, there was plenty of seating. They also had the big cups for sauces that I love. I hate being limited in my saucing abilities. Anywho, we got two entrees. I got the Chicken and Ribs Combo Platter (Barbecued Chicken and Ribs served with Steak Fries and Coleslaw) and my girlfriend got the Southwest Burger (Premium Burger topped with Pepper Jack Cheese, Guacamole, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and Cheddar Jalapeño Poppers. Served with Steak Fries). First of all, every single food item was not hot. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't hot, which I don't like to see, especially on a busy day where everything should be nice and hot and fresh. My platter was ok. The ribs were edible, and the chicken was also edible. The skin was very soggy and I peeled off as much as I could. Also, the chicken was heavily coated with a thick dry rub. It tasted good, but it was heavy. It stained my hands and I needed a wetnap desperately. So if that doesn't sound like something you would enjoy, skip this. The coleslaw was ok, too. My girlfriend's burger was pretty good. Not cosmically average, but only really due to the jalapeno poppers on the burger. They exploded with each bite, and it was actually quite nice. It was like having pimento cheese on the burger. The patty itself was like a Bubba Burger. It was ok. The thing we had in common was our fries, which were fries. After we ordered, we were given something that looked liked a buzzer. To my surprise, it actually wasn't a buzzer, but something to help the wait staff find you when they're bringing their food over! How that works, I'm still in awe. The food was very average. We ordered: - Southwest Burger: My burger was cold/room temperature. Yes the place looks dated and a bit outside the Disney norm, however it is quite a large place and looks like a typical cafeteria style quick service restaurant. The place sits in the back of Hollywood Studios near Star Wars land. The mobile ordering option makes it easy to order quick and its ready to pickup upon arrival. The menu is mostly grilled items, burgers, grilled cheese, sandwiches and salads. The drinks are self serve and they do offer Ice tea but not on the mobile app but you can serve yourself. The food was not bad, I ordered grilled buffalo cheese sandwich, it was pretty cheesy, came with fries which were decent and it was an easy lunch. Atmosphere: Stopped here around 1pm on a Wednesday. The line was outside the front of the building. Since it was counter-service it moved fairly quickly; I would say from the time we stood in line to when we received our food was about 20 min. I'm sure this was the case at most other counter-service places around the lunch hour. We were able to find a table for 6 people inside. It seems that the turnover is pretty quick, so tables do open up often. Food: The menu had something for everyone - chicken sandwich, chicken fingers, seafood platter, bbq, kids lunch pack (granola bar, yogurt, etc.), and more. It also seems that counter-service places have a hidden menu. The customer in front of me asked if he could get mac and cheese and a kid's chicken finger, which were not on the printed/posted menu, but he was able to order both. The Mediterranean salad was a great pick, as it was a full meal with chicken, pita, hummus. When I first got my salad, I noticed they didn't put the hummus on it, which was supposed to be included. Several people around me that ordered the same salad were also missing their hummus. It seemed that they ran out of it, but weren't going to get more until customers started asking for it. I'm sure this was disappointing to those who didn't realize the hummus was missing until they sat down and weren't in the mood to wait for it at the crowded counter. As for the taste of the salad, it definitely had all the Greek flavors - saltiness from the feta and kick from the banana peppers. The red onion and lettuce were fresh and the chicken was basic grilled white meat. I would have liked some tomatoes and cucumbers thrown in there as well. The pita bread was nothing special; wish it was more fluffy, but it was great to dip into the hummus. Overall: Eating at Disney isn't cheap, not that one would expect it to be. I've only eaten here once and it was for lunch. My husband and I both opted for the hamburger, thinking we couldn't go wrong with a burger. Ha! It's possibly the worst burger I've ever had and my husband agreed. For Disney pricing, it should have at least been decent. I know for fact they make some really good burgers at other areas such as Pecos Bill's at The Magic Kingdom. I have heard from several people the breakfast here is pretty good; but, we usually don't hit the Parks until the afternoon or evening, so I haven't had the opportunity to try the breakfast here. If I ever happen to be at Hollywood Studios early in the morning I will try the breakfast and write another review. Rest assured I will not return for any other meal or snack. Hollywood Studios is definitely lacking in the quick service restaurant department compared to the other Parks. I suggest you try Backlot Express instead of the ABC Commissary. The downside to Backlot Express is the seating is outside which gives no reprieve from the heat during the summer months; however, the food is much better. Dropped by for lunch and met with a huge crowd. Luckily it breezed by quickly and was well coordinated. I ordered the barbecue ribs platter and I was pretty impressed with the quality of the food. Fall off the bone ribs. Juicy and tender. Plus you get 3 slabs. Enough for 2 people. And a side of fries with coleslaw. These ribs are better than most sit down restaurants. Next was the Land and Sea. A nice combination of shrimp, fish and chicken. Also served with fries and coleslaw. Crispy and filling. Atmosphere was pretty busy. I really like ABC Commissary. If I ever need a quick bite to eat at Disney Hollywood Studios, I stop in here. They have tasty fish & chips plus my friend always gets their curry. A very different option on the Disney quick service meal plan. The desserts are just eh~ I love sitting in here to eat though. I like people watching through the windows or checking out the memorabilia throughout the restaurant. It's always different each time I go, so I imagine the change it at least annually to coordinate with what they currently have on ABC! One word - RIBS! The BBQ rib plate is enough to share, we split it between two adults and left plenty satisfied. Lots of meat, and very few bones - pipping hot and the meat literally fell off the bone. The fries were the same ones you get at most quick-service locations, but I would have been satisfied with just the ribs, they were hearty. Trying to found a place to eat lunch at Hollywood Studios was very hard without a reservation. Everything seemed packed and me needing to order off the allergy friendly menu, I do not like going when a quick service restaurant has a really long line. So we ended up waiting till later in the afternoon to go to ABC Commissary. After receiving the allergy friendly menu I decided to get the Barbecued Chicken and Ribs Combo Platter served with Green Beans and French Fries. The cast member that helps with food allergy orders came over and was helping place the order. She then told me that it either comes with green beans OR french fries. I then pointed out that the menu clearly states AND, meaning I should receive both. I was honestly flexible and willing to pay for the extra side but they just gave me both no extra charge. They need to get that fixed on their allergy friendly menu. My food arrived separately as usual and everything was delicious. The ribs were not quite as good as some of the other restaurants in Walt Disney World but they were edible. My dad got the burger and fries which was a lot smaller than my meal but he was overall satisfied with it. I would go to this restaurant again next time I am in Hollywood Studios, I like the whole menu and would like to try other items. The only big negative was around the tables was pretty filthy. ABC Commissary is located in the heart of Disney's Hollywood Studios (halfway between the Chinese Theater and Star Tours) and offers some of the more unique quick service options in the park. While most Disney quick service locations in the studios feature burgers, nuggets, pizza and fries (you know, the usual), the Commissary also serves chimichurri steak, chicken and ribs, lemon pepper salmon, shrimp, and a mediterranean salad, plus cheddar jalapeño poppers, steak fries, and even green beans. Food quality here is very good. In the past, I've had the lemon pepper salmon, which isn't necessarily a gourmet piece of salmon but is a really nice divergence from the typical theme park burger. On this past trip, I ordered the chicken nuggets (yeah, it's nothing fancy, but it's nostalgic for me). What's nice about the ABC Commissary is that the nuggets not only come with fries but also come with a side of green beans (having a vegetable on the side makes this a healthy dish for sure, right?). The ambiance and theme here are also quite pleasant as you enjoy your meal. ABC Commissary is not the largest quick service location in the park, but there are still plenty of seats available. Around the restaurant, you'll find posters of ABC television shows (sure it's shameless self-promotion, but it's fun) and scattered palm trees. The other nice element of ABC Commissary is the new pager model. Rather than wait for your food at the counter, you simply take a pager with you to the table of you choice and place the pager on the table. A Cast Member will then bring over your meal as soon as its ready. There is also mobile ordering available from the Disney app on your phone if you want to save some time and skip the line. The Commissary is all around a great place to enjoy a quick bite, especially if you are looking for some of the healthier options in the park. read more

Hard pass on ABC Commissary. It's nice for mobile ordering but we went during the evenings when there's reservations. The reservation system is not really needed as the restaurant is basically empty all of the time. If you want really tough, chewy ribs that take a lot of work to eat, go here. They served a hummus that was lazy and mediocre. The vegan offering is a beyond burger, which is usually safe but this one was overly sauced and just awful. Horrible service for an Advanced Dining Reservation restaurant Faced with last minute travel changes we decided to get an ADR for the ABC Commissary. Much to our surprise when we showed up the person at the door basically said 'that's nice' and told us to get in line to order. No table was reserved for us so I'm not sure what what good the ADR did. We ordered and given a placard to put on our table and sent off to search...then finally found a table for 6 that opened up. A good bit later our food arrived...or at least most of it did. So back we went to the front to convince someone that in fact they didn't actually give us all of our food. Eventually, we were all able to eat mostly together. The food itself was somewhere north of awful but not quite good. They did sell wine so the grandparents were made a bit happier. It *is* inside which is nice in inclement weather but we've had much better food at the various quick serves in HS. To say nothing of the sit down restaurants. read more

The biggest positive I can give to ABC is the atmosphere itself. I loved the decoration of the interior as it has that glitzy/glamorous Hollywood feel. It's air conditioned and they handle seating pretty well (this visit was the week after Christmas which is one of their busiest periods too). The mobile ordering worked very well. The food was eh. It could be due to the fact that we lined our Disney vacation with incredibly great eats, but at the end of the day it's just basic food. The burger was weirdly thick like almost a steak burger but not in a good way. Fries were bland. I don't eat fish but my SO got the fish platter and her favorite part of it was the chicken tender accidentally put in the basket. I always check wants on the sandwich or burger that I get before I eat it. I go to see what's on the sandwich and I notice they forgot to put the chicken on it. all I had was vegetables, bun, cheese and bacon. I went up to one of the employees and said there's no chicken on here at all. the staff handled it very well. they apologized and asked if I needed anything else, they gave me a new sandwich with the chicken and also a free cookie. i'm glad they did that for me, disney staff knows how to take care of their customers. this place isn't a bad place for lunch or dinner. they got good options here and the restaurant itself is pretty nice. read more

For years this quick service location at Disney's Hollywood Studios was known to serve uninspired and rather abysmal food. Things have surely changed! ABC Commissary has recently upgraded their menu, adding a variety of options that have become a welcome addition to the park. I last dined here on 12/03/2020. Like other quick service restaurants on Walt Disney World property, this location has become a mobile order only venue due to the pandemic. In all honesty, this makes it even easier to order and pick up your food without having to wait in a long, overwhelming queue. My advice: order like a half an hour or an hour before your arrival that way you have your pickup spot secured, because it can get pretty busy during lunch time. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese with Steak Fries. The sandwich was the perfect little nosh on a rather busy afternoon. I must say that the fries here aren't your normal "Disney" fries. They're a lot thicker than what you'd normally get at a quick service spot at Disney, but they're absolutely delicious. Crispy and golden on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside. I also tried my boyfriend's Shrimp Tacos, which were also very good. They're also served with yellow rice and black beans, which were both a nice accompaniment to the dish. One of the things that surprised me about this place was the drinks. They currently are serving spiked frozen hot chocolate, which is a little too much for my tastes, but some members in my party absolutely loved them! I ordered the Frozen Winterberry Margarita, which is my go-to. I am a sucker for sweet girly drinks, and this was no exception. The popping boba pearls honestly make this drink so fun. It also packs a punch too; seems stronger than your usual pre-mixed theme park drinks. Perhaps the biggest drawback of this place is the seating arrangements as with COVID I tend to get a little freaked out sitting close to hoards of people. They have ample seating inside and directly outside, but the outdoor seating is right next to a very busy thoroughfare in the park and tends to get packed during lunch hours. We opted out of the restaurant seating and found a nice quiet spot near the edge of Echo Lake. While it's a bit of a walk, there's plenty of seating and it's not too congested in that area. read more

The restaurant is located very close to the main park entry, and centralized to several different locations throughout the park. Outside and inside seating is both pleasant, especially on a warm day. Mobile order is the easier route to take and with that being said, the food was ready almost immediately! Not a lot of quick serve choices in this park, and my kid is a picky eater. He wanted chicken tenders or nuggets, which are not on the menu, but I saw other people with them. This is a nice alternative and fast place to get a meal while you're visiting Disney's Hollywood Studios. It is frustrating to try and make reservations at a restaurant in the theme parks of Walt Disney World. A lot of these restaurants are booked months in advance, so we're forced to dine at one of these cafes. The good news is that this is one of their better ones. On a hot summer day, this place is completely indoors with air conditioning. The prices are fair here, as I got the New York Strip with green beans & fries for only $11.99; and their food was decent! If you're wondering why this place is called "ABC Commissary", it's because Disney owns the ABC network, so there are a lot of posters inside that are from their ABC shows. There are also TV's inside that are normally showing repeats of clips from America's Funniest Home Videos. Anyway, if you're trying to beat the heat, and are looking for a quick bite to eat where the food is decent at the more affordable prices for a Walt Disney theme park, then this is a good alternative to go to if you're unable to make any reservations at any of their other restaurants. read more
