This is an older hotel, I'll start out by saying that. You can use a free Hyatt anniversary night here, which makes sense given that it's an older property. The carpet in the room majorly needs an upgrade, as do the bathrooms. Two bed rooms come with a queen and a full which is interesting - I wish it was just two queens. The queen feels more like full size and the full feels more like twin size. It's a tough share for two, even with littles. Rooms are also really small, like hard to find floor space for your suitcase small. All rooms are advertised to have balconies, and I think this is false advertising. It's a juliet balcony, just wide enough to step foot on. But otherwise, this was a solid hotel stay. If you opt not to do valet you can still park on hotel grounds and it's only a few minutes walk to the car. The pool area is very large with several different pools, a splash pad and a slide. There is also a lake to take boats out on. We didn't try this, but it's a fun amenity. You can also rent bikes, and there was a rock wall! The highlight of our stay was the hotel parrot, Merlot. My kids got a huge kick out of this on our way in and out each day. We didn't try and food or drink here, but they do have a few restaurants on the property. Overall, this hotel is nice enough. Especially if you are using Hyatt rewards. Oh, and most importantly it's only a few minutes drive from Disney, AND we saw the fireworks from our 'balcony'. Big win! read more

Relaxation to the max! First off the property is decorated so pretty for the holidays!! This hotel is our go to when in the disney area if we aren't staying at a Disney resort. This is above what a Disney luxury hotel offers in amenities. The resort offers a beautiful and gigantic pool, fitness center, rock climbing, bicycling, pitch golf, mini golf, pickleball, kayaking, canoeing, water bicycles, peddleboats, trails, a huge beach with hammocks and lounge chairs. The waterside is big and not just for children. Movies and smores at night! It's a stunning property with lush gardens and several restaurants. It is a short 2alj to the corner roads where there are also an abundance of restaurants and shops nearby. Disney springs is 1.5miles away by car or a 45min walk. The service is excellent and I enjoy the poolside foid and drink service. They have implemented a towel system to scan your room card and return when done using or if not returned there's a $25 fee per towel charged to your room. The cabanas are huge! There are 2 hot tubs, and 3 interconnected pools. The shallow pool towards the rock wall is quietest and warmest. The pools tend to be on the cooler side. Bid say for December they should be heated to at least 82. It felt like it was between 75-80. When the weather outside is around the same it gets chilly stepping out of the pool. We used the kayaking, golf and bike rentals. All which are included in your resort fee of $50per day. Such a fun place. I recommend to spend a few days to soley stay at the property to relax and enjoy all it offers. You never have to leave the resort. read more

Things i liked: The grounds are gorgeous. The staff was usually helpful. The lighting and mirrors in the bathroom. I thought the beds were comfy. We didn't have a car, and the valets called a lil golf cart for us and the fellow dropped us off by the street (it's a loooong driveway). Things I didn't like: The shower. Super leaky. Had to place copious amounts of towels on the floor to prevent myself from slipping. No microwave in the room and only small fridge. Only 3 microwaves for the whole hotel. Laundry was very expensive. Couldn't use my Starbucks app at the Starbucks. The restaurants were pretty good but very pricey. read more

A conference that I attended to from Sunday through Tuesday was hosted at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. I booked a stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress from Sunday through Wednesday. I arrived at the hotel around 4:00 P.M, the perfect time for check-in! As soon as the UBER driver drove into the resort, I was in awe at how beautiful it was. The entry way was absolutely stunning, and you'll see all of the grounds with waterfalls as you drive towards the entrance. As soon as you enter the lobby, you'll see a open bar to the left, with the conference areas, further on. Open seating in the middle of the resort, and if you continue further, you'll see their MARKET place and the Lakeside restaurant, open for breakfast to dinner. Check-in and elevators are to the right. You can also access the pool from there as well. Check-in was a breeze, and the team member provided a map of the resort. There are a lot of amenities on-site at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. Free Internet Access On-site Restaurants Room Service Pool Fitness Center Spa Golf Laundry This is a really nice resort. There is a large pool that interconnects with cave like structures that you can swim-through. There is also a large slide as well! There are plenty of seats available to lay at next to the swimming pools. If you walk the resort you'll notice a lot of activities. Pickleball Bicycles Jogging/Nature Trails Putt Putt Golf Rock Climbing The room I had was really nice. The bed was pretty comfortable. Inside the room includes a minifridge, coffee maker, safe, iron board for ironing, and lounge. I didn't stay too long inside the room since I was at the conference most of the time at the Hyatt Regency. The Hyatt Regency does offer complimentary transportation services to Universal Studios and Disney Worlds TTC (Transport & Ticket center). You do need to book a reservation and timeslot though. Since there are pre-set times, it may not necessarily align with your schedule though. Overall, I've been to Orlando plenty of times and even stayed at a few Disney World properties. This is one of my favorite resorts I've stayed at so far in Orlando Florida. I would stay here again if I was booking a family trip to Sea World, Disney World, or Universal Studios! read more

I absolutely love this Hyatt!!! One of my favorites. They have 3 awesome pools, a waterslide, 3 restaurants they are all good and a sushi bar. The ambiance is nice inside and outside the building. They greet you with champagne most of the time and there's a huge macaw that lives there and it's just so cool to walk in there. I have stayed at the bi- level suite, executive, junior, VIP suits and they are all great my fav is the bi-level suit. The staff are always so welcoming from the Vallet to the room service staff. I have stayed plenty of times and they make me feel at home. I highly recommend this hotel. read more

The Grand Cypress Resort is underrated but so impressive. The expansive, clean pools, adorned with waterfalls, were amazing. They are surrounded by lush greenery creating a rainforest feel. The three restaurants, including one by Richard Blais, offer diverse dinner options. The colossal fitness center, accessible through enchanting grottos, was so unique. Evening fire pits and Disney firework views are available every night. But you must stay here for Merlot, the resident Macaw. He's the Hyatt Ambassador, who sits in the lobby and eats his nuts. 4.5/5 overall! We stayed here to have easy driving access over to Epcot for a quick weekend away. The service, room, experience, and overall property was well beyond what we had expected! WARNING: I do not know how to write short reviews. Lol This was my husband & I's first stay here. The hotel is beautiful first of all. When you walk in, you are "greeted" by a beautiful parrot. The pool outside is also beautiful. Plenty of chairs, towels & umbrellas to open if needed. Waterfalls going into the pool that you can also swim through. There was a poolside bar that had nice drinks. We had one dinner at the four flamingoes restaurant in the hotel that was owned by a famous chef. Pricey as hell, but amazing food! We had a pretty severe housekeeping issue that we noticed on day 2 of our stay. (I'll spare the gross details.) when I notified the hotel manager, both her & the housekeeping manager arrived to our room within just a few minutes. They were appalled & very apologetic. The hotel manager offered to give us a free meal at their other restaurant in the hotel up to $75 to help make up for the situation. When we arrived for our dinner tonight, the hostess already knew the dinner would not be charged. She also apologized for the issue we had experienced. Upon the end of the meal, our waiter asked us about dessert. When we politely declined he asked us if we would please order one to go to help compensate for what had happened. I fully expected to have to explain the situation to the hostess, her call the manager to verify, etc., but no. I was amazed at customer service provided. We also got an E-mail from the hotel manager tonight. Again apologizing for what had happened & providing us her information if there was anything else she could do for us. Very nice. The resort and grounds are clean and well kept, and the conference are is large with nice outdoor areas so you can relax between sessions. The food in the conference area is very good and they had several choices for breakfast and lunch, all the food was fresh and well prepared. The resort area is great, spacious rooms with balcony door that open so you can enjoy the beautiful weather. They have a market with a Starbucks in the lobby but the choices are a little slim. They also have another restaurant on the resort but I never made it there. They have a large work out area that has good equipment but is a bit tricky to find. There were also several broken machines so I wasn't able to do all the workouts I wanted. The pool area is large with plenty of seating, there are areas you can pay to reserve as well. The food from the pool bar was really good, I had a fresh ahi bowl and it was amazing, not at all what you'd expect from a pool bar. The pool bar doesn't take cash, either credit card or charge to your room. When I was there they have a wedding and reception the night before I left. My room was located one floor up and across from the wedding venue and it was super loud. The music was pounding until midnight and since I had to get up at 0400 for an early flight, I got didn't get much sleep. Other than the couple things I mentioned, it's a nice place and I would go there again. read more

Me and my family stayed at the hotel where this restaurant is. Royal Hyatt Grand Express. I was looking for the perfect Thanksgiving dinner this was IT ! Everything was perfect the turkey was so nicely done. The sweet potatoes were seasoned to perfection. The mashed potatoes were heavenly. Even the dessert was outstanding. My partner works for the City of Hialeah and we stayed at this hotel for FFEA which is a yearly event that they do for hospitality. When we first entered the hotel lobby it was very clean and welcoming! Merlot the parrot (Ambassador of the hotel) was extremely adorable and sweet! After we checked in ( which that went extremely smooth) we went into our room, it was smelled super clean- bed linens and pillows were extremely soft and the AC was AMAZING. After taking a few strolls around the hotel to check it out- we went to visit the downstairs bar which had late night food till about 12AM. The food wasn't as great as we expected, but overall the waitress Tessa was magnificent she was very attentive and instantly called the manager to apologize on the kitchens behalf. We didn't make it a big deal because we were starving and we aren't the kind of people to complain but the manager decided to remove the food items from our bill. We visited the pool on one of the days and ordered the " Caribbean colada" and a few appetizers. The chips and dip, chicken tenders and tostones. The pool food was actually REALLY good and so were the cocktails. I wasn't able to grab a picture of the food because we were so hungry haha! Stayed at the Hyatt for a romantic getaway from Friday- Sunday. Check in is at 4pm, check out is at 11am. The check in process was easy, the only downside is there are only a few elevators so most of the time, we were waiting in a line to get on. Our rooms were very clean, and housekeeping was just a text away if you needed any extra towels or necessities. Room service comes from the Lakehouse restaurant which was our favorite place to dine in! Their ribeye and grand cypress salad was amazing! Sushi was fresh (ordered spicy tuna and rainbow roll). The pool at the resort is huge! The poolside side service was also a plus! Our server was very attentive! Miami vice=must order! Check out was also a seem-less process. Just went here for dinner with my boo. Was pleasantly surprised how good the food was. Sometimes these hotel restaurants can be hit or miss, but this one definitely delivered. The food was amazing! The staff was also great..!! I didn't catch my waiters name but he was amazing. Very knowledgeable about the menu and the IPA's. :) We were greeted very warmly by the staff. The manager checked in on us a few times to make sure we were doing good. We really enjoyed our time here and are looking forward to coming back. Their social distancing measures are on point. I have wanted to return to LakeHouse sooner than this; but, every time we tried, something came up. This time, my wife and I had accumulated enough points to book a couple of rooms for a couple of nights at the Hyatt Grand Cypress. Our daughter had two friends with her in one; and, they decided to join us for dinner (at a separate table.) To start, my wife had a Blood Orange Mojito; and, I had a Hyatt Breeze. After having stopped at On the Rocks, the lighter drink was very refreshing. As with our last visit, we chose the French Onion Fondue, which was as good as we remembered. It is composed of very well caramelized onions, like French onion soup; with a thick layer of cheese; and, crostinis for dredging. It was "out of this world" good! For mains, my wife chose the Corvina; and, I opted for the Raclette Burger. Both dishes were outstanding; perfectly prepared; and, uniquely flavored. I had the Charles and Charles Red Blend to go with my burger. No dessert on this visit, as I ended up taking half my meal back to the room, to finish as lunch another day. Beware! If you are looking for a Pet Friendly hotel do not book here. They say on their website they are "Pet Friendly" but are not in the least! False Advertising. I booked this hotel and brought my little Yorkie who is a whole 3 pds. What do you want to do in sunny Florida? Go down to the pool and relax - Nope! Can't do that I have a dog with me. Mr. Manager telling me I can't have my dog at the pool - do you see she is 3 pds? "Why do you advertise on your website you are Pet Friendly?" No answer. Next day we go over to the outside bar area - my 3 pd. Yorkie is sitting on my lap. Oh boy! Another "Mr. Manager" comes along. "I'm sorry Pets are not allowed in this area." Really? I travel frequently with my little one to a lot nicer hotels than this and have NEVER had this issue. This hotel is NOT Pet Friendly. Do NOT book here if you plan to bring a pet. I was highly disappointed in the Non Pet Friendliness but that was not all. The Hotel is less than par. Rooms are not very well designed. No outlets where you need them to be. Housekeeping does not do a great job and restaurant service not great. There are definitely better choices in Orlando. Will not be back. read more

Good place for lunch. I tried the open faced tuna melt with side salad. The portion size was just right, maybe a bit too much tuna for me, but hey, the more protein the better! This place has seriously lost its class and manors , our family decided to try out the Hyatt Regency (not so) Grand cypress Orlando one more time for our daughter Birthday and instantly was ignored by the night shift manager and was stuck with the rude Puerto Rican man that was so happy to pop a new bottle of champagne for the previous guest and not us we had to ask for our champagne, and when we got it they gave it to us in a cheap tacky plastic water cup instead of a champagne flute, and after checking in yet again we found deadly black and white mold throughout our bathroom and had dirty stained beds and curtains and accessories with a side of crusty used towels , not to mention the queen beds are like sitting/sleeping on a bed of rocks and the room smelt like wet nasty moldy carpet, for the prices they charge for this hotel I expect more then a run down outdated hotel it is Wednesday August 28th 2024 please don't waste your time and money at this location until they have done some major changes especially with the front desk staff and managers, because to go out of your way to ignore us when we requested her services is abysmal, she went out of her way from the front desk knowing we were waiting for her to organize the luggage carts is just totally unacceptable and unprofessional and not what I expected from a company who prides themselves in Hospitality By far the worst property to stay at in all of Orlando 0 of of 5 stars read more

Phenomenal, creative vegan options at a hotel restaurant? Pinch me! I still cannot believe it. I was advised to check this place out by a really nice server at the lobby bar in the hotel but it's kind of her job to point people in the direction of the hotel's restaurant, so I kind of chalked it off (also I didn't tell her I was vegan because sometimes I just don't feel like getting into the whole, "oh so that means you don't eat fish, right?" "what DO you eat?!" thing). Orlando's own Colleen B saw that I was staying at this Hyatt and told me I had to check out LakeHouse. Sold! I couldn't believe my eyes when I checked out the menu. More than just the obligatory vegetable pasta dish that they'll leave the cheese off of? You can do that if you want, but the cauliflower steak and vegan flatbread had all my attention. I ordered the latter. Feast your eyes on my photo, friends! Does that not look divine? It tasted as good as it looks and I devoured the entire lovely thing. It's not overloaded with vegan cheese (thankfully. That can sometimes be just too overbearing IMO). The veggies are all so delicate and delicious and the balsamic glaze puts it over the top. Even if you're not vegan, you may fall in love with this flatbread. The atmosphere is just lovely with soaring ceilings and crisp, modern decor (yes it's rather too brightly lit, but with food this incredible, I don't even care about something that normally matters a hell of a lot). I travel so often, but never have I encountered such wonderful vegan options at a hotel. I read all the reviews, but sorry for our experience I have to disagree. I hope our experience is an isolated one, so let me explain. First, as most people know this is the old Cascades Restaurant in the Hyatt Regency Hotel. We have been going there for many years and always enjoyed eating at Cascades. The decor, menus, service, and of course the water feature were always outstanding. I understand that sometimes change is necessary but in this case I'm not sure it was a good change. So we get there at 12:15, for lunch. We ask for a window table but are told none are available. OK possible so we'll take another table, until we pass an empty window table . So of course I ask if we can sit there. After a blank stare from the male hostess we are seated. All downhill from here. Now remember this is a very new restaurant. My napkin has a rip in it, my wife's glass has someone else's water left in it, and there's dried food on the salt shaker. We're staying there for quite a while while waiters and waitresses keep passing us. That's enough for me so we leave but on the way out I explain why we are leaving to the host. Maybe he can rectify it. Nope, same blank stare. No doubt in my mind this is not Hyatt standards, but something was not right here today. Also not s fan of the new decor and casual demeanor of the wait staff. Hopefully management will recognize the need for better control before it's too late. Also I miss the water feature read more

Very nice-looking property. But when the only thing positive is the politeness & efficiency of the valet group, a luxury hotel calling itself a resort has a real problem. We give our stay 1* for the nice car valets + 1* for the view of the WDW & EPCOT fireworks show each night. Hotel appeared to be fairly full judging by the parking decks; the crowds we saw on elevators and in the lobby; and the always full pool. Front desk never answers their phone. Ever. We called early, mid-day, late afternoon, in the evening. No one ever answers. We even left a message with the hotel operator asking to have the front desk call us in our room. No one called us back. Nothing. Room service is closed all weekend. Housekeeper 'Barbara' on our floor gratefully accepted the $5 bill we gave her while we were walking down the hall to check into our room. But we never saw her again - she never brought us the requested extra towels nor the extra pillows that she promised us she would bring us. Took the money and ran. Merry Christmas Barbara. We often stay in Hyatt's all over the US. We thought this resort would be a treat on Christmas weekend. Big mistake. Could it be because we stayed over the Christmas weekend? So I took my friend to The Lake House today for a Thanksgiving buffet meal. I am a seafood lover and just about the only seafood was cold shrimp. The shrimp was not self serve. When I asked for some, the man took his bare hand and plunged it into a sea of shrimp. He scooped out a bunch and plopped them on my plate. I was almost in shock as even before Covid servers used gloves in this kind of situation. This was totally unsanitary and potentially dangerous. A manager came over to our table a few minutes later. I thought she was going to tell me that this was a terrible mistake and my meal would be comped or reduced in price somehow. I must be honest this was a horrible experience. Our waiter was great. The pace was horrifying, people seated after us and eating, people ordering to go and having their food and leaving. What the hey???? Oh i know.... not enough staff! Hire people!!!! The pasta my daughter had was boiled and gross, meatballs were frozen. No bread because of Covid we were told.. okay not sure why but do they recycle the bread and this is why they are not serving to the tables? No appetizer plates given, so sauces were falling all over the table.... that feels a bit more unsanitary than bread on the table. The waiter was amazing! read more

As far as hotel restaurants go this place is doing many things right! A great decor that feels nice and upscale but also non threatening and inviting for families with kids about to head to Disneyworld and other theme parks. The menu has something for everyone including some good drinks and affordable wine options. We came in on a Friday night without reservations and we're luckily able to walk right in and get a table for 7. We started with the tuna poke bowl- the flavors were great and the bowl was both filling and vibrant with a mild spice. For drinks most of our group ordered cocktails To start and they were all well mixed but were all on the sweet side. Food wise the entrees were fairly average. The menu descriptions all sounded amazing but some of the execution was just ok. Two people in our group ordered the burger which was pretty average- similarly the pizzas were ok. It seemed like those who got the entrees like the veggie lasagna, various sushi dishes and the fried chicken and grits all loved their meals. The service was good and we were in and out in about an hour. Nice and easy hotel restaurant. Update: we came here again for breakfast in the morning and I ordered the crab cake Benedict- absolutely fantastic !! One of the best breakfasts I've had in a hotel. They also have a buffet option for $27 but many entrees are only $20. read more

The waiter was nice & let me have an ice tea to go, however the tea tasted like instant rather than fresh brewed. Skip the bread unless you delight in cold rolls with rock hard, ice cold butter. Doesn't the kitchen have a bread warmer? An oven? Seriously!! The best part of the bread basket was the saltine-like-flavored lavash. The baby iceberg wedge is quite tasty -- but order the dressing on the side or you will end up with your baby lettuce floating in a sea of blue cheese. I could have eaten an entire plate of the candied bacon. Yum. My hubby loved the salmon. He had it on spinach instead of rice. Twice. The first time we also split the fish tacos. They were wonderfully good. The veggie flatbread was too thick -- more like pizza not crispy. I also tried the sautéed shrimp with butternut squash pasta. Great location! From the friendly valet team, to the fast elevators and even the view from the balcony! Completely surpassed my expectations. The breakfast buffet was amazing, the pool was superb. The slide was too much fun even though I'm not a kid. The connecting pools and the pool side service was phenomenal. Best part was coming back late and taking the best sleep of your life in that crazy comfortable bed. 10/10 would recommend. Looking forward to more trips with the LOML. read more
