My salesperson, Cindy was extremely helpful and patient with me. She did not push me to buy anything if I wasn't 100% confident. I was concerned about the refrigerator depth so she pulled out nearly all floor models for us to measure. She also had me send her a photo of my current setup to assure that the water and icemaker configuration would work. The appliance was ready for delivery prior to the estimated date, and delivery charge was lower than that being charged by the manufacturer. Recently I purchased a Kitchen Aide appliances...Microwave, Dishwasher, and stove. I love my appliances especially by dishwasher because its so quiet and great. ABC beat the price of Home Depot, Lowes, and other private appliance stores. One good advantage is Taxes is waived for PA residence. I was impressed with the delivery guys service as well because they came on time, was pleasant. Highly recommend this place. Bought a Bosch dishwasher for a VERY reasonable price. There was a small mixup on the sale price, which they caught after we left the store, but they were quick to mail us a refund check for the difference! Impressive! However...delivery and installation by their independent was questionably very high. And after months of phone calls and emails we were unable to get any charges in writing from him. There are many venues to make the somewhat large purchase of appliances. Its usually fun sometimes frustrating and always expensive. When you can go to a place like ABC DISCOUNT and deal with a great sales person like Ryan as we did it just makes the whole experience way more pleasant than you think it could be. We were in a bind and had to rush out and purchase a new range which could be delivered as soon as possible. Ryan quickly and with the knowledge to act helped us make the perfect choice for us. He directed us and did everything he could to help us out in every way. ABC has great stock, lots of choices and goes out of the way to give the consumer an overall great experience. Spent over $4,000 of Maytag appliances. Problem with microwave making a loud clanking noise every time you turned it on. Service people came out three times and told me "that is just how it works". Delt with ABC from December through March. Advised they had contacts and would see if they would replace microwave. Very disappointed. No e-mail, no phone call, no follow up. Extremely poor customer service. Went out and bought a washer, dryer and refrigerator from JC Penney. read more

They run a scam--sending out a letter to "preferred customers," claiming a special "annual inventory sale" only for recipients, who will "need this letter to enter." Of course, there is no such requirement, and the prices are no different than usual. read more

I used ABC 4-5 times over the years but would never use them again after buying a range from them Feb 2013. It seemed like a deal, but they sent the wrong installation guy out. When they did send another installation guy out the following week he charged an extra $200 plus and extra $75 for his helper. I begrudgingly paid as he demanded a check on the spot. Later that day we found out he had turned off our heat and hot water. And when the heat and hot water was re-ignited by our plumber, we found out he had rewired our box so we had to bring in an electrician to fix it. ABC passed us around to three different people, all feeling bad for us, but not one of them gave us a refund or came out to fix the problem. Did I mention that they sold us a range that has a fan running the entire time it is lit and did not know that when they sold us the range. Bad experience--never again. read more

He showed us the pros and cons of each possibility, didn't try to up-sell (and at a few points specifically recommended less expensive items), and explained exactly what you're paying for when you move to the next price point, which is sometimes worth it and sometimes not. He was down-to-earth, friendly, and never pushy. We did some comparison-shopping, and Ben gave us the best prices. We ended up with 3 Bosch appliances, which meant we were eligible for certain rebate deals. Some sellers forget you exist as soon as they've got your cash, but Ben helped us figure out the details of how to apply for rebates significantly after the sale. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS. Over 30+ years, I have purchased many appliances from ABC due to (1) sales reps not working on commission and (2) local area free delivery/installation (except during annual weekend sale). . I had a $415.05 store credit (from an item purchased, but never delivered) and recently purchased a window air conditioner ($129.90 + tax = $138.99). The sales rep, Ryan, NEVER mentioned a charge for delivery (nor gave me a printed receipt - and I certainly DID NOT AGREE to ANY delivery charge, either in writing or verbally). AFTER the unit was delivered & installed, I was presented with a receipt and, when I saw a $45 delivery charge, I believed that it was just a mistake. I then called Ryan, who contended that he had advised me of the charge - WHICH HE DID NOT. In fact, I had offered to take the unit in my car, that I just needed it installed, but Ryan said that I did not need to do this. I had told him that I could not personally get it upstairs and into the window, but that I could have a neighbor do so (that this neighbor had done this for me with another unit from a different store, 2 years ago), but that I would prefer not to ask him. If I had been aware of ANY delivery charge of ANY amount, I would NEVER have agreed to it and I would have taken the unit with me and had my neighbor install it. . During that phone call, Ryan was increasingly belligerent and loud. I said that the only thing that would satisfy me was a reversal of the $45 delivery charge. Ryan offered to have the unit uninstalled & returned to the store for a full credit. Ultimately, Ryan agreed to reverse the $45 delivery charge on the following day and to print/mail me a receipt - but this was not done AND I never heard from him further, so Ryan's "word" is useless. . The following day, Patti from ABC left me a voice message that I did not receive until the evening, so I called her, a day later (on a Friday). Patti said that she would talk to Ryan on the following Tuesday and would call me back - but she never called me, so Patti's "word" is useless. . When I was finally able to reach Patti by phone, I told her that I wanted to avail myself of Ryan's offer to uninstall/return the unit for a full credit. Patti said that she had not spoken to Ryan, but to the store owner. She also said that store policy regarding delivery charge had changed in recent years, but I had no way of knowing this because Ryan never mentioned ANY delivery charge to me. . Patti passed me to the store owner who did not provide his name until I asked: Rich Super. Rich reiterated the store policy of a $45 delivery charge and contended that Ryan had explained this to me - WHICH HE DID NOT. Rich refused to reverse the delivery charge AND to have the unit uninstalled/returned for full credit. He then hung up on me. . Originally, I was seeking a store credit of $45. Then, after the phone call with Ryan, I sought to have the unit uninstalled/returned for a full store credit of $187.14 (this same unit has been available on sale at several local chain stores for $109.00 + tax). Now, after my 100% dissatisfaction with this store, I want the unit uninstalled/returned and a 100% refund on my American Express credit card of the original store credit of $405.15 - or, at the very least, a refund on my American credit card of $276.06 (the original $405.15 minus $138.99 cost of unit - which is still more than $20 higher than it would have cost me at other stores). This business is totally dishonorable and unprofessional and the "word" of its employees is absolutely useless. read more

Over the years we have bought many appliances from ABC and have been very happy. However, we were very disappointed when we bought a new refrigerator. We expected their expertise to shine above Home Depot. We wanted to buy a large refrigerator, and explained to the salesman that it had to go up a flight of stairs with a switchback. He said it would be fine, and sold it. After paying for delivery, the delivery guys said it would fit, but they couldn't do it - it needed a specialist. The specialist said it was impossible given the dimensions of the fridge. I had to pay 50% of the restocking fee to send it back. I would have expected that the expert salesman and/or delivery men at ABC could have directed us to the right size fridge. But we ended up shopping at Home Depot - where they gave us explicit measuring directions before we purchased or had the fridge delivered. Unfortunately, I will not shop at ABC again. read more
