If you have an LG refrigerator, do *not* call this company, as they cannot fix a closed-system problem (in this case, the compressor needed to be replaced and new freon added). They need to tell people this instead of just sending a technician out to make a quick service fee ($89 plus tax that I spent for nothing) who's only going to tell them that the fridge isn't fixable and to buy a new one (from them, of course). Instead, I called the LG-sanctioned repair shop for the area listed on that company's site (which I would have gone with primarily, but they were closed the week the fridge died). They fixed the "unfixable" problem with little fuss and for less than it would have cost to get rid of this (expensive) fridge and haul in a new (cheap) one. Thrilled that it works now--not thrilled that I paid Appliance Werks for nothing but being lied to. read more

I called them Monday morning for an appointment to diagnose my gas dryer. The came the next day. The woman who took my call Monday was super friendly and professional. The tech who came to my home was just as professional. He found that it wasn't the dryer after all but the dryer vent going outside was still clogged (had another company clean out the vents 2 weeks ago). I set up a phone conference between the Werks tech and the vent cleaning company. The vent cleaners came out the next day (yesterday) to redo the vents for free. Thank you Appliance Werks for being honest and not ripping me off with expensive repairs I didn't need. The dryer vent, by the way, was cleaned out and now my dryer works like brand new! If you have a Sub-Zero refrigerator, don't call Appliance Werks. They charged me $300 for a thermostat that was not broken. Paul also said that if that didn't work then they might need to do a complete sealed system repair which would cost an additional $1300. I called Sub-Zero and they told me that Appliance Werks is not on their list of approved repair companies. I was referred to Edwards Appliance in Sewell, NJ. I called Appliance Werks to come repair a dryer that no longer started. Not only was the scheduling hassle free and flexible but the person that came out to service my dryer was on time, very courteous and even cleaned up after himself. There was more than one issue with my dryer, the door latch and a broken belt which the Appliance Werks repairman found and quickly fixed. I was also told very valuable preventative maintenance tips and ways to improve the longevity of my dryer so no other issues will arise. I own a business where value is key to improving customer service, getting new customers and increasing customer loyalty so having a knowledgeable repairman is an important and highly appreciated factor to my decision on using Appliance Werks services again. My dryer was purchased used and the price I was charged for the repair of my dryer was amazing and I felt like I was not over charged at all for any work that was completed. Called this company to service my Whirlpool washer. Paid $300 to replace a bearing that was making a loud noise. After the tech left I noticed that the washer was making a different loud noise. So they came out again. Found out that the original tech used a bent bearing that broke the roter. They wanted me to wait a week for a part and pay an additional $200. No Thank you!!! We had a man Frank come to fix our refrigerator through our warranty company. He was on time, knowledgeable, and polite! I'm happy my warranty company uses Appliance Werks. They contacted us quickly and showed up when they said they would, ordered a part for my fridge and showed up 2 days later to install it! He was thorough, vacuumed underneath the fridge to ensure no dirty coils, took the back off the freezer and found that the fan wasn't running quickly enough and ordered us a new motor. Completely dishonest owner, Craig Lefkowitz! Not only did he try to rip us off for $75, but he then SCREAMED at me at the top of his lungs that his worker "did not say it was a pre-approved claim." My husband was a witness to what the worker said. He stole a co-pay, then tried to charge triple what the oven glass door would have cost us retail. This is a horrible man, folks. His co-owner, Paul, who does the repairs and we've dealt with in the past, is a nice guy and has nothing to do with Craig's dishonesty and terrible temper, but since Craig runs the show, Paul is a victim also. I made an appointment to have my 2 year old dryer fixed. The tech arrived a little late because there was some sort of mix up with the schedule. No big deal because he found the problem quickly and said he would order it for an install a few days later. After waiting 3 days (Tues to Fri), I called to check on the status and was told it'll be a few more days. A week later(Tues), I called for an update and was scheduled for Thursday between 2 & 4. Fast forward to Thursday 3pm. I receive a voice mail asking me to call and schedule for the install. I returned the call and said I had an appointment and was waiting on someone to arrive at my home. As a matter of fact (Stacy) set the appointment and she was the one calling for me to (re) schedule. She said she didn't have me on her board and although she recalled our conversation she was sorry but the part wasn't in and I needed a different appointment. She offered Monday. 2 weeks after my initial diagnostic service. I questioned why she was calling to schedule an appointment if the part wasn't in and then she backtracked and said the part was in and she had me confused with someone else. Unfortunately, there was still an office miscommunication and my dryer couldn't be fixed until Saturday if a tech could squeeze me in. If you're confused reading this, imagine how I felt as a customer. Nice technician; incompetent office staff. Who knows if they ever ordered the part. Good thing there are a ton of other companies. The owner Paul came out to look at my mother's refrigerator he was extremely knowledgeable but also very nice and friendly. He looked at it and realized that it was a simple fix and the condenser was frozen. We were so impressed with his honesty and the fact that he didn't try to fix anything he told us that it would be fixed on its own if we let it thaw out. I really couldn't believe the fact that he was so honest and only charged us a very small fee for coming out. I would definitely use them again it's very hard to find honest people anymore!!!!! I ended up not needing to use these guys, but I was glad to find them as they seem like a decent business. They had some good reviews from other sites. I will definitely call Appliance Werks first if I ever actually have a real problem with any of my appliances. The person I spoke to seemed like he actually cared and listened to me describe the problem. I initially thought I had a problem with my fridge but it turned out to be caused by the freezer door not being closed properly for several hours. After I turned off the circuit to the fridge for 5 minutes, it reset and worked OK. GE charges $89.95 just to come look at the problem. This place only charges something like $55 and was willing to come out that Saturday. I had also called Wiest Appliance Repair and their voice mail prompt stated that they were busy and couldn't take on new work until a certain date which was 1 1/2 weeks away from the date I called. If my fridge did have a problem, I wouldn't be able to wait 1 1/2 weeks for someone to look at it. read more

Went to a certain appliance parts store for advice on what part I could get to repair our gas clothes dryer, which wasn't heating. The guys behind the counter refused to sell me anything, telling me it could be one of many possible parts, and they did not want me to waste my time and money.They suggested I call a repairman and gave me a business card for Appliance Werks. The nice scheduler at AW told me that she couldn't fit me in immediately, but would two days hence be okay? Sure. Their repair guy, who seemed actually to be the owner, listened to my description and immediately diagnosed the problem as "gas coils" and fixed it in a half-hour. It cost $165, far less than a new $1000 dryer, and I surely didn't waste time or money guessing which part was on the fritz, let alone lie on the laundry room floor. Like a previous commenter I paid a visit to an appliance parts store in Cherry Hill hoping for some guidance for a dryer that was not heating. But I was quickly shut down by the counterman. He told me fixing dryers is not a DIY project and it should be left to a professional and offered me the card for Appliance Werks. All Brand must be getting a kick back from this company for referring them. When I called from my car I was told that they could not make an appointment until 5 days later. So I made the appt but clearly told the woman that I would call to cancel if I found a faster option. As a parent to 4 young kids and lots of wet snow clothes to dry waiting a week while not atleast trying to fix it myself was not an option. So with some time on youtube I was able to diagnose and fix the dryer myself for $50.28 over a weekend. Just as I promised I called and left a message to cancel my service call the day before the appointment. I was respectful in my message, thanked them and left it that I wanted to get to them so that they could move up someone else that may be waiting. Much to my shock Paul the owner called me this morning to yell at me for cancelling the appointment. He went off on a verbal tirade, cursed at me and then abruptly hung up on me before I could say a word. Be very cautious when using this company and inviting him into your home around your unsuspecting family. One star for my particular issue. Do not call them if you're experiencing odor from your washing machine and need to have it taken care of. I have a 4 year old Samsung front loader washer and for the past year we've been experiencing terrible noxious odor every time we run a load. I've used Affresh tablets, sprayed gaskets down with bleach and wiped them dry, emptied and cleaned the filter, and still no lasting relief. I called the Appliance Werks scheduler and explained the situation. I was very clear that our issue was the foul odor. She told me that they can't diagnose anything until the technician comes out. Fair enough. I told her that I didn't want to have someone come out to tell me there's nothing to be done. Well, that's exactly what happened. I paid them $55 for a technician to tell me "ain't nothin' i can do about odors." They know there's nothing to do about odors, yet they still schedule an appointment and waste your time, the technician's time and your money. I am disappointed in their dishonesty, particularly when I was very clear about our issue and told them ahead of time that I didn't want to have someone come out to tell me there's nothing to be done. read more

The customer service here is wonderful. I called this company in stress because I was stood up by a Sears repairman who didn't show up to repair my tenant's washer. The customer service I received by Paul was exceptional. He called me back after regular business hours to get me on the schedule. He even called my very unhappy tenant to schedule an appointment so I didn't have to. Did I mention that they scheduled me the very next day! Sears couldn't reschedule until the following week! When my tenant had to make a last minute schedule change, I called the day of the appointment and Craig was able to move things around and get someone out to the house at the time my tenant requested. Fabulous!! Their repairman came out on time, diagnosed the issue and fixed the washer in the same day. They were able to take my payment over the phone and I did not have to be present for the repair. As a landlord, that is a HUGE deal. I would highly recommend Appliance Werks. read more

Really had a good experience with Paul from Appliance Werks. Making an appointment was easy and courteous. My dishwasher wouldn't drain and Paul had identified the problem and had it fixed in about 40 minutes, tops. Plus I was very impressed by the reasonable repair bill. He cleaned up everything and left the kitchen in good shape. He also told me where I could get a replacement part for my fridge and I was able to immediately go to the website and order it. One of the burners on our electric stove started malfunctioning, scaring the heck out of us. We found this place on Yelp and are so glad we did. I called (I love when companies actually answer their phone) and was put on the schedule within a few days. Frank showed up 15 minutes early for his appointment, and knew what the problem was within minutes. He returned a few days later to install the part and again showed up a bit early, so much nicer than these places that make you wait through a 4 hour window. Stove is now working fine. Horrible company. Communication between owner, staff and customers is non existent. Service call completed for our washer on the 20th. We called that night for a follow up prior to closing and was told our part had been ordered 12/20 by the secretary. The next morning we received a call from the owner and was told it was being ordered THAT DAY 12/21 and it was a special part. We asked for expedited shipping and were told the part would be in by Tuesday 12/27. We were then told don't expect us to return until at least next Tuesday because we have ovens and refrigerators that needed to be handled 1st due to the holiday. We reached out this morning, the owner answered the call and was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE. He was on the call SCREAMING at us telling us we were wrong and none of that was told to us and it wasn't true. We kept trying to explain to him what we were originally told by his secretary. He kept yelling and screaming over us and would not listen to ANYTHING we said. He hung up on us 4 times. We have NEVER dealt with a company that treats customers this way. My home warrant company called them to come and do a diagnostic on my washing machine. The gentleman that came was polite, but he was "not familiar with my older machine." He said he was not sure what was wrong with it he thought it might be the timer, but it seemed to work most of the time so it might be a motor issue or something else. Mind you he spent over an hour taking my machine apart. I got a call a few days later that they were ordering a timer. A different repair man came and replaced the timer in less than 10 minutes, but never ran a load of laundry and didn't check the machine. I even told him that I was surprised he wasn't going to check the machine because the first repair man was not sure of the problem. His comment to me was that in 90% of the cases it was the timer. I went to do my first load of laundry and got water all over the place. They came back out and said something else was wrong with my machine and wanted to charge me for another visit! I called and asked to speak to a manager or owner and the receptionist refused to connect me. All I wanted to was explain how this all seemed a little fishy to me. Called a few times, and was told someone would call me back. Never got that opportunity or phone call. I gave them a chance to stop this online review, but they obviously didn't care. I will never use them again. I would recommend you not use them, or risk losing out on money- and still end up with a nonworking appliance. read more
