He's one of the most genuine and caring individual I've met. I'm blessed to have found a great…read moreteacher. On top of being calm, direct, and attentive, Brian's teachings were easy to understand, extremely clear, and most importantly SAFE. There's no expectation established or result promised: he truly believe in you wholeheartedly that you will succeed with your own ability. Being nervous on the road was one of my biggest weakness. A steady hand but unsteady mind create a great challenge to my livelihood. Richard, the second instructor, offered me great advice and exercises to calm my nerves. Taught me steering techniques that Nascar and F1 professional drivers would use for the cleanest and most consistent control over any vehicles. I never knew I had it in me to be assured that a decision I made, was the right one. The confidence I gained is priceless. Being calm and proactive knowing what to look out for and what to do NEXT is what I crave as a total beginner. Specifics and certainties. Brian is unironically the actual CHEAT CODE to my driving test. He knows exactly how the judges think and which route they'll take. It was almost unfair as I felt in the end, "Wait, it's that easy?" He prepared me for EVERY SINGLE possible obstacles. By practicing directly at the location around the city of where the DMV appointment was made. Ya boy nailed the test first try and passed with only 10 hours lesson driving on the road with him and Rich. I'm now a proactive, safe, and confident driver. I will miss their funny stories and jokes bantering with opposing driving schools or bad drivers passing by. They made it hilarious and fun.

Second time using the service. They are affordable and good. Easy to book and schedule.read more

My teen was able to start at home and then finish the lesson at his high school. It definitely made things easier on me. He worked with Anthony, who was very helpful. I noticed a very significant improvement for my teen's driving after working with Anthony. He feels much more comfortable with driving and is prepared to take the driving test. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with our experience with this driving school. I would totally recommend!

I am going to be honest, I don't understand how the rating is so high. My daughter completed her…read morethree lessons and wasn't given even close to the same instruction that my son was given by another company. Her first two lessons were ok, but she wasn't taught anything for the driving test. Her last lesson was absolutely horrible, the instructor was texting and making phone calls the entire time. My daughter felt ignored and was nervous because she didn't know where to go or what to do half of the time. I reached out to Kanor before writing this, hoping that maybe they would give us a make up session, but they replied with that they would look into it. I am very upset, these are our kids' lives as well as everyone's that shares the road with them. For $100/hr, I at least expect the instructor's undivided attention. We just paid Varsity for an extra lesson and they said that a lot of the tools students need to pass the test were not taught to our daughter - basic things like backing up along a curb. Between driving with us and the extra out of pocket lesson with another company, I think she will be safe. Maybe if we hadn't had such a great experience with another company for my son we wouldn't realize what our daughter missed out on.

Thank you so much, Teen Driving Academy! I passed my driving test on my very first try!…read more I've been putting it off for the past three years because my previous instructors couldn't help me overcome my fear of being behind the wheel. But Coach David was incredibly patient and calm, even when I made plenty of mistakes in the beginning. His guidance gave me the confidence I needed to finally do it. I highly recommend Teen Driving Academy, thank you for helping me achieve this milestone!

My son had his first 2 hour lesson a few weeks ago. When he returned home I asked how it went and…read morehe said it was good, but he was concerned that his instructor was using the cellphone quite a lot during the lesson. He told me that it appeared as if the instructor was fiddling with it to get his musical playlists on the radio. It's worth noting that these cars have dual brakes and gas pedal, and that the instructor would be expected to grab the wheel if needed. I asked if the instructor had his phone in his lap during this and my son said yes. He honestly brought it up out of concern and, being new to driving, wasn't sure if this was typical. I visited the school some days later and spoke with the owner. I tried very hard to make it clear that the whole thing might be some sort of misunderstanding and that I wasn't there to get anyone in trouble, only to get clarification on phone policy. The owner told me that the cars have onboard audio/video recording and that he would watch the tape later and get back to me. Strangely, he also said that without this verification he did not believe my son's account and specifically said that teenagers are liars. After a week of not hearing back, I called him up. He said he had watched the tape and that the lesson was absolutely perfect. He said that the phone use my son reported was actually the instructor holding up his phone and making videos of the lesson to post on his Instagram page. I suggested that this is a pretty bad idea and that it diminishes safety. He insisted that it's perfectly fine and does not impact safety at all. At this point I realized I was wasting my breath and said I'd be going elsewhere, and asked that my balance be refunded. He agreed to a refund after charging me $210 for the first lesson. He said it didn't matter at all to him if he lost my business or not. He also continued insisting that cell phone use by instructors is legal. It is not. California law treats driving instructors with dual controls as co-operators of the vehicle and, as such, are prohibited from using cellphones. The ONLY reason I'm posting this at all is to give a heads-up to other parents who might not be comfortable with instructors on phones.
