I can't say enough about how great my experience was. We had a leaky faucet and a garbage disposal we never used. Bob (owner) personally helped me shop for a new faucet and knocked $40 off the ticket price. While he was helping me, he took the time to greet everyone who walked passed us and ask them if they needed help too. I told him I needed help with the install. He gave me his card, asked me to text him photos, and we set up an appointment with the handyman (Andy) to do the installation. During our texting, I mentioned wanting the garbage disposal taken out too. Andy came the very next day and took care of everything, including disconnecting the power from the disposal. My whole house generator which I purchases from ABC hardware about 20 yrs ago failed . It had just ran for 3 days straight, thankful it made it through the storm . If failed its weekly test run, had a blinking light. I called the service department ant talked to Fred , he said it would be a week or two or more before they could sent some one. Being the awesome, caring person he is he suggested a few thing to try,I did a few things called him back reported still not working he told me another thing to try, I called him 3 time and he was as friendly , compassionate and helpful. This place is alright. I was renting some bistro tables for an event and was hoping that they could deliver them, but they were not able to be specific with delivery times (which cost $75 for a round trip) unless I paid $150 for a specific time-point of drop off. Having their staff member simply tell me that "they would drop it off sometime" is a little too lax when you're planning an event and you want to make sure that everything goes smoothly and on time. I rented the bistro tables anyway and borrowed a truck from a dear friend to pick them up. They didn't have all the same sizes of table available, but I took what I could get. It cost around $70 for 7 tables. Load-in was a little stressful since the employees looked at me like I didn't know what I was doing when I parked my truck to the load in zone, effectively blocking someone else in. Okay, yes...I didn't know what I was doing and I was pretty stressed out but a simple understanding smile would have been appreciated. I don't know how to drive this thing! I'd probably use them again if I had to, but there's definitely some improvements that could be made on the customer service side of things. You gotta understand that people on the other end are planning events and are stressed. Your job needs be to ease their stress, not add to it! read more

One star doesn't even sun up the terrible customer service I have received two years in a row. I cannot recommend strongly enough that you take your business elsewhere. If the multiple other bad reviews don't sway you, please take a moment to understand that this company twice now has left me stranded just days before an event, and tells you "too bad, we can just cancel the order if you don't like it" Last year, I order a tent, table and chairs for a party I was hosting. I specifically selected the delivery option, as I have a small SUV and could not possibly pick up and return such a large order. The week of the event I get a call to confirm the time I will be stopping in to pick up my order. After several phone calls to a supervisor, and finally the business owner- I was told I can either pick them up, or cancel the order. They claim the person that took the order (who doesn't work there any longer) never put in the delivery portion. (While I can understand employee error, a business still needs to make things right for the customer when one of their representatives screw up). They also said I should have known there was no delivery because the deposit I paid would have been higher- it was my first time renting from them, how could I be expected to know the organization of their deposit structure to know what is included or not based on the amount? Fast forward to this year- I place my order well in advanced and give them another chance. I reiterate the delivery part about 6x on the order phone call and receive a resounding "We've got it, you're all set- delivery Friday before the Saturday event with pickup Monday. A few weeks later I get a call from them to "confirm some details" and make sure everything is correct. In the employees own words "the guy taking the orders isn't very good at it, so I want to make sure there's nothing messed up" - great confidence boost but at least there is a double check here and once again, we are all good. This morning at 7:20am (4 days before the event) I get a phone call from a supervisor (Daniel) telling me they are heavily booked this weekend and they want to drop the tent off this morning. Being that the event is not being held at my property, I call the owner of the property to confirm and find out there's some Sprinkler and pool maintenance happening today, but they could accommodate the delivery tomorrow anytime. I call back the supervisor and let him know we can't do today, but we can do tomorrow- he says okay and hangs up. Maybe 30 minutes later, a second person calls and tells me the delivery really needs to happen today. When I explain that it's not possible today, and it would need to be tomorrow he says that he needs to call his boss, and his boss will call me. 5 minutes later the supervisor Daniel calls me, and very rudely tells me that either the delivery happens this morning, or he is going to cancel my order. Nice right? Your staff overbooked deliveries, so I can either comply or you can ruin my event. I ask if I will be compensated because I will need to cancel everything else happening at the property and he replies "all you people ever want is money, I'm not doing it". My response was that this is a terrible business practice and customers should not be treated this way, and he replies "I don't have to deal with this, I'm cancelling your order" So four days before the event, they screwed up and when I couldn't meet their demands within hours of receiving a 7:00 am phone call they cancel my order. Truly insane to me how a business like this can remain open. I will never be doing business with them again, and cannot recommend strongly enough that you do not either. read more

I purchased a B&S whole house generator from ABC. Fred the salesman was great. Answered all my questions, actually came back another time and brought the electrician to see what would need to be done for I have a solar setup also. That type of attention was what made our decision easy. Installation day, Russ and Alex showed up promptly and took their time doing a masterful job. I had a lot of work and it took two days rather than rush it into one. Neat, clean, professional, safe, like they would "do in their homes" . Never ever get a tent rental from this place. First they had the wrong tent delivered and when asked to bring the right one manager pretty much take it or leave it and have nothing. When asked if we could be reimbursed some money they said no. The tent was poor quality. There were rips in the tent and the inside of the tent was filty. So now a week later and multiple phone calls this tent is still sitting in the yard. For a business that's been around for a very long time it's not worth 2 cents of your hard earned money to rent from them. I rate them below a one star. read more

Reasonable prices for rentals. We just rented a 20x30 tent, tables, chairs, and a large bounce for my twins birthday party. We called the same day the tent was put up by their rental crew to express concerns that the ropes weren't pulled tight enough - we were blown off about it. Tent was fine for the party on Saturday, and then on Sunday it started collapsing. I called in the morning to let them know 2 of the poles fell, they said they'd call their manager and let him know and then call me back. 5 hours later, after no response, the middle support pole ripped through the top of the tent and all of the poles started collapsing from under it. I called again, and once again they said they'd call the manager. Once again, no answer. I called a THIRD time to let them know the tent was dangerously low and swaying every time the wind blew - I told them dog couldn't go in he yard because if she happened to be under it and it fell, it would kill her. I also told them I couldn't bring my kids into the backyard because if it. I was assured someone would be put to be in 30-45 minutes; and no one showed up. I called this morning and was given the rental manager Richies phone number, he just said "i I'll send a crew whenever I can". It's incredibly frustrating to deal with them, as they really don't give a damn about their rentals and they're content to leave a dangerously collapsing tent pitched in someone's yard. read more

We reserved a large tent for our daughters wedding with sides and lighting, it took several days for them to respond with the actual day they were coming to set up the tent. Once erected, they were supposed to install lighting, which we payed extra for, they took 60 feet of lighting and hung it in a 12 foot span! There was supposed to be 2-60 fat strands of lighting and there was only 1. We called and complained about the installation the shortage, they brought out another strand and threw it on the table and took off while we were setting up for the wedding. When we caught up with him, he couldn't "speak English" and refused to roll down his window. They shorted us 50 fr of sides for the tent and WE had to go and pick them up. This is our "go-to" rental place for tents, chairs, tables. They have a great package - $99 for a one day rental of a 20x20 tent, 3 tables, and 12 chairs. An extra $1/chair beyond the 12. This rate requires your own pick up and set up though. I love that they give you the option to save money by letting you do the work. It was a little frustrating putting up the tent for our first time. But, now that we have done it once - it would be easier to do in the future. They opened at 9am on a Sunday and we got there right before 9 to pick up the tent, but it took over an hour because there was 10 people ahead of us and they needed to clean the tent from the user the day before. Understandable, but we had hoped to do a quick pick up and have it set up before we had to head to church for the baptism at noon. So be prepared for a possible wait if you show up first thing in the morning. They are more than just a rental place - they have hardware too. I never used it, but have received good reviews from people who have. They also sell the cotton candy floss sugar, which is hard to find. My mom has a cotton candy machine, so this is our place to buy the sugar for it. read more

Unprofessional communication with customers... I witnessed someone bring back a rental tent and his (the customer's) staff didn't fold it so it could be given as it was received initially. CLEARLY the customer was in the wrong but instead of someone saying calmly, " hey this isn't being returned as agreed upon, we're going to have to charge you" two different people came out & spoke/yelled in EXTREMELY disrespectful tones. He was trying to ask what he could do to fix the problem & they continued to be unprofessional & rude. They are attempting to make $100s and 100s off families and businesses by charging for everything that most other party rental places include In their price. They want to charge $449 for a bounce house and you have to go pick it up, set it up at your house, and return it. Some of the bounce houses weigh up to 350 pounds. Or they charge you $225 more for delivery. Possibly $500 if you want it at a specific time. $150 to ensure it is clean and rolled correctly. Not one other bounce house party rental charges any of that!! I called four other places! I have the same exact bounce house being delivered to my house and set up for $425. If we chose ABC, it would've been $675 plus a possible $150 extra! Seriously how is this place still in business?? Price gouging and taking advantage of the community. Bad business. ABC rental on Bailey Avenue has incompetent personnel. We needed to rent a tile saw, but the employee was not sure what they looked like. When she located them, one out of two were incomplete and the one we had to rent had an old blade on it. The employee looked for a new blade, came up with the wrong one and it turned out they didn't have a replacement, so we took the saw as is. They were pleasant enough but don't expect expertise and equipment in good shape. read more

Just brought in my snowblower, that I purchased from ABC 5 years ago, like I do every year for a check up (can never be too early in Buffalo!), I have rented a tent, tables, chairs and bounce house for my son's birthday every summer for the past several years and I purchased a whole house generator from them 10 1/2 years ago. The mechanics do a great job, the rental items are high quality (the kids love the inflatables so much, its hard to get them to come out!) and I love, love, love my whole house generator. If I have an issue or a maintenance need with it, I just call up Fred and it's taken care of immediately. Thankfully, I had it for the October storm in 2006. Whenever my power goes out I have never had any issue with the generator coming on. The generator kicks on and the power comes back up within seconds. This company does it all! Do not trust this company. We now have the BBB assisting us in getting our $4000 returned over gutters that they mislead us on. We were sold 700ft of what was to be new quality old never used 6'' copper 10 ft gutters. What we received was more 4'' gutter and in condition that is more for scrap then what was represented. This company has done nothing but hide and elude everyone trying to assist us. They even went so far to change the listing on Ebay to try and say we misread !! What do they think they can seriously just dodge us or believe that we didn't make copies of everything ? C'mon do not think you can sell a Ferrari and deliver a chevette and try and say we sold it as-is and believe this is ok !! Purchase $4000 of 6" copper gutter which they had listed on eBay as new old stock and asked for me to wire funds. Upon receiving my company noticed we received 4" gutter and were short well over 200 ft of 6" and 30% product is damaged from improper stacking. Corners all bent and bottom portion flattened from stacking on top. Bobby said countless times he will fix this but when he saw what it would cost to fix he started the excuse game. They even tried sending strangers to my house to sell !! Serious ? He would keep saying "will call you next week" and Said "owner is going to refund difference" then nothing. Our company purchased In November and still they try to elude. So much they changed description on ebay . Fools, do they not think ebay keeps no record or I personally would not have the original listing ? Lawyers are now involved . This is a sad case but shows their true morals.
