Had a really fun night with couple of friends, with some delicious food and great cozy vibes and drinks! We started off with the baked brie dip with spinach and artichokes, and freshly baked bread, this was so delicious and amazing for chilly nights! We had the fried chicken sliders, which were so cute and so delicious, probably my favorite. The main dish we had was jambalaya penne pasta, this was so good and perfect! It was an amazing night, the bartender and staff were kind and great service!

New menu with great food, on a recent trip I had the baked gnocchi and french onion soup, both were delicious, great service and great bartenders as well, they make a great manhatten

You can't go wrong at Hardware. A regular watering hole of mine but the bartenders are some of the friendliest guys around, always welcoming, knowledgeable, and a good time. I miss the bruschetta but everything out of their kitchen is fabulous. This time around just got the calamari which comes with a punch thanks to the hot peppers but the chicken sandwich is their new big thing.

Hardware just opened back up for the first time since the pandemic and they have totally revamped their menu. We sat at the bar for dinner our bartender was very attentive and always made sure our drinks were full. Everything on the menu sounded great but I went with the fried chicken sandwich. YUM the sauce they put on there should be bottles and sold in stores. There's a few tables on Allen if you want to enjoy dinner outside, but I must say when the sun went down the restaurant was so dark you would barely see in front of you. Overall, loving what they are doing there and excited to see how they progress as they continue to make changes

Went on a Saturday night for dinner. A friend had gone before and got a half chicken, so we thought there would be more of a dinner menu. It was only apps, burgers and sandwiches. So I'd call ahead and check what menu they have if you're looking for more entre options. The spinach and Brie dip was the highlight of the night. Frisco melt was pretty good - mix of a burger and grilled cheese! Good vibes and atmosphere, had a great time with friends!

The new food menu is amazing!! Love the chicken sandwich, apps, and the steak. They've done a great job with the re opening

Bruschetta - delicious but very buttery

My husband and I have been here a few times now.. and the ambiance is right, the service has been good, but the food just isn't great. Most recently my husband got the meatloaf and he said it was very blah. I had to send my salad back because it had so much dressing it tasted covered in mayonnaise. The bruschetta was the best thing we ate all night - but way too buttery. I would stick to drinking here and a snack but don't waste your money on dinner.

This is my go to place for practically anything - drinks with friends, dinner and late night music. I've tried almost all of their regular menu items and they are consistently great. The specials menu changes daily and includes soup, appetizers and entrees. It's a little more expensive but it's totally worth it. This usually includes different types of seafood and somewhat unusual meats. They have had frogs legs and duck on here in the past. The current chef here has been doing some wonderful things with the specials menu. Most recently, I had the clams in a wine broth with Andouille as an appetizer. I split this with my boyfriend but I was so full I could barely eat my meal. This restaurant does not proclaim itself to have gluten free options. I do want to mention though that my boyfriend usually has very good luck with the food here. He doesn't get reactions from the food. The ingredients they use are pretty clear on the menu and the kitchen staff will answer questions about preparation for you. They have a large beer and wine selection here. If you're not sure what to order, the bartenders are really helpful and will help you pick something out depending on your tastes. I always get great service when I go here and recommend it to anyone. However, if you're looking for somewhere to go after 11PM, it can get really crowded and the kitchen doesn't stay open all night.

This is my favorite bar on allen. They have a great beer list and decent wine as well and I love the atmosphere. It can get quite crowded on the weekends (especially Saturday, which is old school hip hop night) but my favorite times to come are weeknights. There's always a table to sit at with your friends and there might even be spots at the bar. I've only eaten here once and I just got the cheese board. They gave us HUGE portions of cheese (my favorite that day was this sage cheddar) and this perfectly, buttery toasted bread. I came here for my birthday last night and sat at the bar. Our bartender was actually the owner (didn't know that til afterwards!) but he gave us a complimentary shot and let me sample a few different wines before I decided. I love going to hardware!

    Absolute cosmo. So delicious!

I ordered the Rosemary Frites, which were a delicious appetizer. I had the maple salmon salad as my meal, and it was amazing! The chèvre was so fresh, the greens were great, and the salmon, wow! A delicious meal that I got two meals out of because I took half of it home, as it's a pretty large portion. Originally, I was given the wrong order that I couldn't have due to dietary restrictions, but the waitress was very kind and gave me the correct one, as well as taking it off of my bill. I really appreciated that! We got macarons as dessert and they were super yummy as well. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Coco, and it will be in my rotation of "special occasion" local restaurants going forwards!

The other 1/2 was well done. The seasoning was very nice, but disappointed to have well done steak. Our waitress was nicely attentive, as was her assistant who kept our water glasses filled. The restaurant was quite busy, getting busier as we enjoyed our dinners. I am glad we had an early reservation. I might have missed this note on the menu or website, but there is a credit card usage surcharge. Luckily some of our party had enough cash. The guitar music was lovely, but our table was too close and conversation was a little difficult.

I was told those are only available during brunch -- totally fine, I get that certain specials have set times. However, I then tried to order the martini flight that was listed on the drink menu and was told that was seasonal and no longer available. That was a bit confusing, especially since it hadn't been removed. I also wasn't offered any alternative flavors or suggestions, which felt like a missed opportunity. I ended up ordering their standard espresso martini -- which they seem to pride themselves on -- but unfortunately it tasted burnt. It also appeared that the espresso isn't made fresh, as there was a bottle of espresso sitting on the bar. For a cocktail that really depends on quality espresso, that was disappointing. However my friend did try another cocktail off their drink menu and it was delicious. To finish our visit, I waited about 10 minutes just to get my check while the bartender was engaged in conversation with other bartenders. It made the experience feel inattentive and frustrating. The space itself has a cool vibe, but overall the experience fell short of expectations. I'd love to see more consistency between the menu, social media, and what's actually available, fresher preparation for a cocktail they promote so heavily, and more attentiveness at the bar.

Bao buns: My mom ordered these because they were labeled GF, but she definitely should have mentioned that she has an intolerance to gluten, because the add on of "salt & pepper shrimp" is not GF (not indicated on menu). The shrimp had a crispy flour coating. Also the buns were much smaller than anticipated, so this appetizer does not work for a filling meal. Falley burger: Description sounded fantastic with the homemade chip dip and salt & pepper chips, but unfortunately both lacked in flavor. I honestly couldn't taste either and the chips were more of greasy potato slices. I'm not much of a pickle fan, but I'm glad they were on the burger to give it some taste. On a good note, there were plenty of fries. It was sad to see this place dead on a Thursday evening. We were the only ones dining in, had a few take-outs come through. They do have food/drink specials throughout the week and the cocktail drink menu looks fun. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things or perhaps it was an off-day in the kitchen.

Our waitress was really friendly and told me the French onion soup is one of their popular items, so that got me excited. It came out fast and it was pretty good. The croutons were honestly my favorite part, super seasoned and actually had flavor. This was only my second time having French onion soup though and I'm still on the fence... it felt like it was missing something, or maybe I just don't get the hype yet lol My friend got the chicken broccoli alfredo and I got the cajun chicken linguine. The portions are HUGE, like you're definitely not leaving hungry. She said hers didn't have much flavor even after adding salt and pepper and was already planning how she was going to fix it at home. My chicken was a little burnt so it was dry and kind of messed with the flavor, but the pasta itself was good. I loved that they added a little bread to soak up the sauce. The huge portions made up for the bland flavors. Not even gonna lie, a few bites in my stomach said "absolutely not" which is no fault of theirs, 100% on me for going all in on dairy, so my friend ended up taking both meals home. Overall I'd recommend it if you like a bar vibe, big portions, and solid food. 8.3/10
