What really sets them apart is their transparency and professionalism. I love receiving the detailed service reports after every visit. They include clear pictures and a thorough explanation from the technician--like Ethan Green today--detailing exactly what areas were treated and which products were used. Whether it's dusting the eaves for wasps or creating a solid barrier around the foundation, they are meticulous and professional. It is rare to find a company that maintains this level of quality for nearly a decade. If you want a pest control team that is reliable and keeps you informed, I highly recommend Barefoot

I've been reticent to write this review because the actual people who have come by to do the exclusion work on our house have been nothing but professional and apologetic for past work and mistakes made to the work they did, but what I've experienced the past 12 months from the billing department, customer service and back office staff has been so frustrating. Full Review: We hired Barefoot Mosquito over 18 months ago to close off some attic points where we had heard squirrels and other animals. After that through a separate company we replaced our insulation per advice of the Barefoot team. After 6 months we heard noises and called them to check the traps, that team didn't find anything that concerned them, but when we rescheduled before our annual subscription service was completed, a technician by the name of Devin came out and said all of the exclusion work was done wrong, there wasn't any netting over our pipes, and there were fresh droppings in the attic and in our fresh insulation. He told us that Barefoot would fix this for free as it was their mistake and under warranty. What followed was 6 months trying to get a team to fix the issue, multiple days off work, no shows from exclusion teams, and not sending enough staff for a two story home, which I reminded the scheduler each time. Then came the bill. I thought it was an error, because again, I was told this work was their mistake and would be covered. Apparently by scheduling the remedy after the initial annual subscription for servicing the house, they auto-renewed it despite confirming that I wanted to cancel the services. I have now spent the last 3 months trying to get this billing resolved. In a bit of fury last month I told them I shouldn't have to pay for work they messed up in the first place, which in their billing department's determination qualified me for surrendering the payment and being sent to collections via a third party debt collector. I really don't do these types of reviews. I typically move on and accept when I have a lemon for a product or service, but sending people to collections without first calling them back after 20+ calls is just wrong. I picked this company because it was an Austin company that I wanted to support, learning that they got bought out by private equity a while back all makes sense now. DON'T USE BAREFOOT MOSQUITO, ITS A SCAM!

We have had lots of pest control folks, over the course of nearly 40 years and homes in 4 states. Have not had a smiling, gregarious, knowledgeable, thorough technician as Ramone. That being said, we're grateful for the original.

The overall rating of this business is five stars. I decided to scan through the over 160 reviews…read moreand discovered that most of them were written by people with less than 20 reviews to their name. I tend to dismiss those reviews since they don't really have much skin in the Yelp game. There were just two elite reviews and that was a red flag to me as well. Nonetheless, I decided to give this company a chance and got a same day appointment to rid us of our carpenter ant issue. We've had carpenter ants running up and down our garage exterior for a long time and in the last few days we've had flying ants show up in our living room. It was time to bring in the pros. One thing you need to be aware of is that you can schedule an appointment for this service, but like most pest control companies, they will insist on a quarterly service agreement on top of the initial service. Our initial service cost was $134 which included a $75 discount that came with a $53 monthly payment for each quarterly visit. That comes to over $700 a year ( not including termite issue) for the basic service which does not apply to fire ants. Since I accepted the discounted initial service I had to sign up for a years worth of service before I had the option to cancel. That's something you need to keep in mind because that's a lot of money just to snuff out a few ants. The one and done service doesn't really pay the bills, it's the subscription service that drives the business. My same day appointment was scheduled between noon and three, they ( tech +trainee) showed up shortly after two. I let the tech know about the ant issue and we walked around the perimeter of the property while he swept away wasp nests. Inside he sprayed some powder in the upstairs attic while looking for any possible rodent infestation. The tech did spot some termite activity at the corner of the garage. After spraying the perimeter and infected areas with poison, he then treated the yard with ant bait that looked like Andro. We decided against spraying chemicals indoors due to sensitivities. The discovery of termites greatly added to the bill as pictured below. I'll go ahead and get the termite service and the quarterly check up during the contract period. I thought I would include all the bills and pertinent information so that you can get some idea of what you might experience. One thing that did catch me off guard was that after they left, I received a brief survey which then led me to a tip screen for the tech. It's not that he didn't deserve a tip, it was just the first time I had seen this form of online solicitation. Overall great experience with knowledgeable and friendly techs, not real happy about being funneled into a monthly payment plan for quarterly visits, but we'll see where that leads. Check out the photos. Possible updates may follow.....perhaps leading to a 5th star.
