We have been customers of Barefoot Mosquito for approximately 11 months, utilizing their regular services. A couple months ago, a sales representative approached us about adding their mosquito treatment. Because we value our local ecosystem, we hesitated, explicitly stating we did not want to harm beneficial pollinators like bees and butterflies. The representative assured us--unequivocally--that the treatment was completely safe for pollinators. Based on that explicit assurance, we agreed to a trial treatment at a promotional rate to evaluate the service. The reality shifted the moment the technician arrived. When we reiterated our environmental concerns to him, he admitted that the sales team should never have made those claims. He confirmed that the treatment would, in fact, impact and likely kill the very pollinators we were trying to protect. Faced with conflicting information at the final hour, we allowed that single treatment to proceed, but the results were highly disappointing: we noticed absolutely no reduction in the mosquito population despite spending significant time outdoors. Because the service was both ecologically concerning and ineffective, we promptly requested a cancellation. It was only then that customer service informed us we were locked into a contract, demanding the full remainder of the term--nearly $600--just to cancel. We attempted to resolve this through multiple phone calls, even offering them the chance to retain our long-term business for their primary services if they waived this predatory fee. Management refused, choosing to prioritize a one-time $600 penalty over years of reliable, recurring revenue. Be aware when dealing with this company. Their sales tactics are fundamentally misleading, their contracts are designed to trap you, and they would rather penalize a loyal customer than take responsibility for their team's misinformation. Absolutely horrible first impression. I'm a new customer and signed up for mosquito/flea service on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 3:14pm. A first service was scheduled to be rendered 2 days later on Monday, June 8, 2026, between 1-4pm. I called Barefoot Mosquito & Pest Control twice on Monday 26th to confirm this service and ensure my technician, Aubray Rivera, was going to meet me at the residence for service between 1-4pm. I spoke to rep, Cameron, at (972) 391-7834 and to cust serv rep, Kayla, who both confirmed tech, Aubray Rivera, of Barefoot Mosquito & Pest Control was still confirmed to render service, as scheduled and agreed to today. I have all receipts, time stamps, and recordings of these conversations. Unfortunately, as of this writing, it is 4:07pm on Monday, June 8, 2026, and still no word from the Barefoot Mosquito & Pest Control technician...and these guys have my credit card on file...and I took off 4 hours of work today to commit to being present for my service as we agreed and was stood up. Absolutely horrible waste of my time and what a horrible company experience. TLDR: DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THEIR ANNUAL SERVICES, ITS A SCAM. Exclusion staff are nice and professional, but back office staff haven't been helpful at all, and now I'm being sent to a third party debt collector after never receiving a bill for services. I've been reticent to write this review because the actual people who have come by to do the exclusion work on our house have been nothing but professional and apologetic for past work and mistakes made to the work they did, but what I've experienced the past 12 months from the billing department, customer service and back office staff has been so frustrating. Full Review: We hired Barefoot Mosquito over 18 months ago to close off some attic points where we had heard squirrels and other animals. After that through a separate company we replaced our insulation per advice of the Barefoot team. After 6 months we heard noises and called them to check the traps, that team didn't find anything that concerned them, but when we rescheduled before our annual subscription service was completed, a technician by the name of Devin came out and said all of the exclusion work was done wrong, there wasn't any netting over our pipes, and there were fresh droppings in the attic and in our fresh insulation. He told us that Barefoot would fix this for free as it was their mistake and under warranty. What followed was 6 months trying to get a team to fix the issue, multiple days off work, no shows from exclusion teams, and not sending enough staff for a two story home, which I reminded the scheduler each time. Then came the bill. I thought it was an error, because again, I was told this work was their mistake and would be covered. Apparently by scheduling the remedy after the initial annual subscription for servicing the house, they auto-renewed it despite confirming that I wanted to cancel the services. I have now spent the last 3 months trying to get this billing resolved. In a bit of fury last month I told them I shouldn't have to pay for work they messed up in the first place, which in their billing department's determination qualified me for surrendering the payment and being sent to collections via a third party debt collector. I really don't do these types of reviews. I typically move on and accept when I have a lemon for a product or service, but sending people to collections without first calling them back after 20+ calls is just wrong. I picked this company because it was an Austin company that I wanted to support, learning that they got bought out by private equity a while back all makes sense now. I am the kind of person that basically never, never writes reviews of companies, neither positive nor negative, but I feel that I have to warn homeowners of Barefoot. I'll start by saying that I don't think these are bad or predatory people - the organization is just so wildly incompetent that it baffles the mind. I could go on for so long, but here is bullet point form: 1. Preventative service techs are here for a few minutes and seem to barely do anything. 2. Never get photos, reports, follow ups from service. 3. Tried to schedule rat service, took me calling them several times, and 3 different people to come out to ever get to a contract. 4. First contract was trying to upsell me on 10x the quantity of traps I needed. 5. Second contract did the math wrong and was charging more than the cost of the services - I had to check their math and get them to fix it. 6. Salesperson said she never did rat work. 7. First techs to come out and set traps diagnosed norway rats, said they came through porch. 8. Didn't hear anything for a month. 9. Tech came back, said he was a termite not rat guy, said that they misdiagnosed the rat type, was actually roof rats, and they were vegetarians. 10. Rebaited traps saying the meat traps didn't work cause wrong rat, said he'd come back next week to check and that this followup was all free because they screwed up. 11. New guy came back next week, no idea whats going on, didn't find anything. 12. Was charged for 2 more weeks of service anyway. 13. Called 4-5 times to try to talk to someone about issues. Never ever called back even though they said they would. 14. Was told I had been called back though I had 0 missed calls from the numbers and had saved them as contacts. 15. No one could get me an explanation about why two different species were diagnosed. Said they'd refund me the two weeks of service. 16. Never got refunded, stopped answering me. read more

This review is specifically on the mosquito control services as the company's pest control services are solid (hence the 2 stars). In addition, this review is related to the business rather than the specific people that come. The folks that have come have always been polite, conscientious and helpful! Unfortunately, Barefoot skirts its mosquito control guarantees and "free boosters" if it's not working effectively, by simply not responding to communications or delaying responses to communication. By doing so, the business can simply procrastinate and wait until the next paid treatment. That allows the business to never actually control the mosquito situation while continuing to get paid on a regular basis. It's like paying for mosquito insurance but the insurance doesn't work! The mosquito services is a trap. I paid almost $200 for the first month, then they are going to charge me $105 every month till the end of October. And after the service, I am still surrounded by mosquitoes when sitting on my deck. Totally a scam. Too big to care about customers. Extremely poor choice for elderly. They will send one paper bill. 60 days later the next written communication is collections. They will tell you they send texts, leave voicemails...none of that means anything to someone elderly who doesn't even know what text is. Standard Operating Procedure is another paper bill at 30 days, 60 days, 90 days. Had my very elderly parents received a second written notice, it would have been paid. But, their second written notice was collections. Calling does no good. They do not care...at all. And they will not forward your concern upward to someone with actual decision-making authority who could rethink their policy. read more

First, this company charged my wife's credit card for services not rendered. We found out that they took over ACI in our area, so decided to give them a try. Poor service compared to ACI. We paid for that service and then they tried to charge us again. We have canceled and had the charge taken off, but they say we still owe them. If you are counting, we have had three charges from this company for one service and the one service we had was poor. read more

Absolute worst pest control company that we have ever been involved with! 20+ year customer through Bob Jenkins (San Antonio) and ACI Pest Control (Marble Falls). Barefoot purchased these two companies, and ever since the purchase they have failed miserably! We LOVED Bob Jenkins and ACI - both excellent service... and now Barefoot comes in - DISASTER! We've had our CC on file for years, and Barefoot turned us in for collections?!!!! WTH. No phone call. They sent us emails that were never opened because it went to our spam so we had no idea our payment was not being applied. No letter - nothing! How about a PHONE CALL? not one call made to us. Only call we got was from a collection agency!!! I called to ask what in the word was going on - first off hard to get a hold of anyone, and then to be met with rude service. They made me feel like I am some degenerate that does not pay their bill!!!! I immediately cancelled my service, and paid the outstanding balance. TODAY, I find out Barefoot turned me in again?!!!! What the hell. This is insane. Absolute worst experience ever. Service terrible. To make matters worse, they sent my account to collections without providing any proof of service. At the time they claim to have serviced my home, I was out of town, so it was impossible for anything to have been done. This is not just bad customer service--it's unethical business practice. Instead of addressing the mistake, they escalated it to collections, putting my credit and reputation at risk for something I never authorized or received. Mario was extremely professional and kind, they were able to get me scheduled same day for my first service and I saw the effects almost immediately. Gave me instructions for what to do if I noticed anything returning or any recurring problems and have a guarantee to come back and check on it included in your package. They come and spray my neighbors lawn and the kids and family have to go inside to not breath their insecticide in for several hours. And it doesn't work, our neighbor and we still have mosquitos. This morning one of their trucks almost crashed into our car while we were going straight on green and they ignored they had a yield on green to turn left. So, on top of spraying chemicals throughout the community they can't even pay attention to basic traffic laws. Seems like a great company! read more

Barefoot took over ACI pest control in Marble Falls. We personally called and canceled our service that was never on a set schedule. A few weeks later we had a man do a brief walk around our house and pretended to spray. I called while he was there on camera and told them we had canceled service. I was told we would not receive a bill and they would not return unless we requested. We received a bill and I have called and disputed as well as sent an email. Now they have sent us to collections. Do not use this company! This is a common practice for the Llano Co area!!! read more

Honesty. I had hornets and yellow jackets inside of my kitchen. I plugged the broken mortar joint that was the entry point. The technician came out for five minutes and claimed that he sprayed. I killed more wasp than the spray. The problem got worse, so I hired another company. I don't trust Barefoot! The technician showed me two active wasp nests along the eave of the residence. I took a video of the nests. The technician sprayed and the next day I saw positive results. Barefoot technician said that he treated the eave of the residence, per invoice, which was not true. read more

Don't waste your time- they are completely ineffective for pests of all kinds- ants, millipedes, spiders, springtails, scorpions etc. Despite having Mosquito in their name, their treatments are pointless- I've never had so many bites in my life. We had them retreat a few times for pests and still ineffective. While the technicians that come out are nice, the manager (in Austin) could care less and is very rude. Don't waste your time or money. You will eventually be paying another company to get the job done. I was a customer with Barefoot since 2019 but recently their customer service has been disappointing. They don't seem to care if you are happy or care if they retain customers. On the website they promise to take care of mosquitos if the full service did not get rid of them. In previous years they would come back and do a booster spray if the pests are still buzzing about. Unfortunately, this year they only offered to come back a week early at my cost. They spray every 3 weeks which becomes very expensive during mosquito season. Especially if it doesn't work and they offer to come every 2 weeks. It is about $118 per treatment with tax. If it worked that is money well spent to enjoy the backyard. But if it doesn't work then you definitely feel like you are throwing money away. The other problem is that the spray does kill butterflies and bees. I watched 3 butterflies die in the last 2 weeks. I had one large tree with flower blooms with bees that were seemingly happy. They disappeared after the last treatment. I had asked the tech to not spray any flowers. I am going to try other mosquito treatments. I definitely never want to give money to Barefoot again. read more

They do all of our pest control services including mosquito and flea spraying. Not only is the staff both in the office as well as the field very responsive and friendly but we have been thrilled with the fact that we've only seen butterflies seen around our new construction home (even with all of the other homes being built around us) but we've had zero insects in our home! We've been longtime customers, with our house and a rental house. Last April, our tenant told the tech that she is seeing cockroaches in the dishwasher. He told her there was nothing they could do about that. Now, 3 months later, they have cockroaches in the walls in the kitchen. BM sent a tech out and confirmed it's American cockroaches. I've asked BM for a retreatment or, at least , for them to take some responsibility because they did nothing to fix the problem in April. It's been a week, and I've called 4 times over 4 days, and they keep telling me they have to talk to a manager. Today the technician pushed through our driveway gate and bent it. He knocked on the back door without equipment which sounds higher suspect to me. Daniel Machuca stopped by today to provide service and he was so pleasant to interact with on the occasion when I actually am home to say hi to the tech coming to service us! We've been using Barefoot for over a year now and they have been awesome! Every tech that has come out has been courteous, professional, and patient with all of our home's needs and our concerns. Even pausing and switching service to the new location when we moved was super easy and customer service was happy to help. One thing I really appreciate is that they will ring the doorbell, then step back and wait so they are not immediately in front of the door when I open it. It's a very subtle move and doesn't make them any money, but it shows so much respect for customer safety and comfort especially for women. We like using Barefoot because it appears to be a safe alternative for mosquito control that doesn't harm the wildlife or our pets and we think that holds true. Sometimes we have to call out for a respray when the mosquitoes return too quickly but the company always obliges. The crews are always nice and helpful. We just had a fantastic job done by Alain B who really worked hard on the areas we wanted to focus on and went above and beyond in other areas too that he identified as potential sources of mosquitoes. read more
