Per other reviews, this ABC store on the island of Kuaui is quite small. But because it was the closest one to our cruise port during our stop-over, it got very crowded when I stopped in, to pick up some appreciation snacks for our room stewards. There were 4 cashiers working at the same time, and the lines were still 8 people deep. But it continuously moved and I was able to checkout using a credit card. Purchased Kauai Island Honey 12 oz for $7.49, two Manca (pretty sure meant to confuse folks with Manuka) Honey 2 oz for $4.49 each and two bags of 9.25oz Doritos [Nacho cheese and cool ranch] ($8.09 each). Also got an Eco Shop ABC bag for $0.49, a nice cheap souvenir. read more

The iconic Hawaii souvenir one stop shop can be find throughout the islands. They have your basic shirts, hats, leis, snacks etc for bringing trinkets back to family and friends or yourself. I picked up a hat for $8.99 for my dad, a hair clip for $9.99 for mom and a Hawaiian shirt dress for $23, also a plumeria start for $9 and some salt and cookies for my dog sitters and spent $80 so nothing too crazy. The staff deals with a lot of tourists coming off the cruise ships and for a smaller store they had quick service. read more

We needed to stop at ABC for a couple additional items prior to our luau. This one was conveniently located on the way. It's a smaller store, so they don't offer as many options as some of the other larger stores, but they still had what we needed. Overall this is a decent store to buy a bunch of touristy stuff, souvenirs and/or things you may have forgotten for your trip. This specific review is regarding the staff and how they were so completely rude to me. I went in to return an unused item, as I was told that this would not be an issue by staff at a different location. It was unopened and I had the receipt and the two women that assisted me acted like I just asked them to run a marathon. One of them all but had a temper-tantrum and then proceeded to speak about me in her native language. This was my worst customer service experience on the island. Convenient store on the way from/to Lihue with the various sundry aspects needed for a visit to paradise. Note that you pay for convenience and the prices are actually higher than other places for things like alcohol to nuts, chocolate covered or otherwise. Staff is accommodating and variety is high. The workers were very friendly. It seems to have most everything that a temporary visitor would want. It's much easier to get to if you're staying in the area than driving all the way to Lihue, for the larger stores. I'm always amazed at how inexpensive their chicken is. My husband, my 2 sons & their wives, all come by here to shop, for their needs, as well, during our stay for a week here! ABC Stores and Hawaii is synonymous to me. No matter which island you travel to there are always multiple ABC stores there for your vacation needs. Whether it is something you need during your trip or souvenirs. We walked over there to buy our traditional spam masubi for breakfast and some sunscreen. Great stop for things like this. If you go to Hawaii, this is the place to go to buy souvenirs. They have just about everything: T-shirt's, hoodies, slippers, hats, key chains, mugs, ...you name it. It can be a tad pricey side . My bill came out to $817 for 3 baskets worth of stuff. Yikes! But Hawaii can be expensive, so best to be prepared. I'm deducting 1 star because they don't have a lot of wooden souvenirs. Ever since I was little I've always loved ABC stores, and this location doesn't disappoint. I was able to stop in recently for my "Hawaii necessities" (papaya, water, poke, mixed mai tai, etc) and was out of the store relatively quickly. I'm almost always there only for food, so I don't pay much attention to tourist trinkets... but it looks like they have them. The staff is friendly and I look forward to my next visit. read more

ABC stores are basically the go-to general stores of Hawaii. They have a wide variety of things that you'd probably need at some point or another whether you're local to the area or on vacation. It's a great place to grab snacks or souvenirs. This particular location wasn't as big or as varied as some of the locations I'd stopped by in Honolulu, and I'd found some of the same items available for cheaper in other stores on the island. That said, I wouldn't consider this place a no-go, because there definitely is a price to be paid for the convenience of having everything in one location. read more

I didn't think it's so much a discount store, but it was the closest grocery-type corner store within walking distance of the Marriott and has just about everything we needed (except sand toys, which we found at several other places including Del Sol). We found most of our staples here, including milk, 12-grain bread, bananas, apples, chips, salsa, and string cheese ($1 per piece). It's still cheaper than the gift shop in the hotel lobby, so we were glad it was there for the days we had no rental car. The chocolate-covered macadamia nuts are abundant and hard to resist. From a variety of colorful sarongs to at least three kinds of aloe vera gel, ABC has a lot to offer. read more

I like the ABC Store! I had fond memories of shopping here. My sweetie and I were within walking distance of here so, we purchased plenty of souvenirs as well as snacks such as a box of Kaua'i Kookies (yum!). They had every souvenir that I needed for my family and friends: t-shirts, postcards, magnets, boxes of chocolate macadamia nuts, and Kaua'i coffee (delish and smells really good.) I even bought some things for myself such as a grass skirt and coconut bikini top. (Don't ask. LOL) My boyfriend even bought me a sterling silver necklace with pearl tortoise and flower pendants. (Awwww!) I racked up enough purchases over $100 that I got a "free" gift. Anyway, I am giving this ABC a 3. It is kinda smallish for an ABC Store and some prices were a bit high. Wal-Mart in Lihue has better prices. I'm sure we'll be back but, I think it will be at the ABC Store in Kapa'a. read more

I love this friendly ABC store. I've always loved these stores, but especially this one, because they are so convenient and reasonably priced. It is not a large store, but it had everything I needed. Since we were indefinitely stuck in Kauai for several days, it was great to walk over here with my crew and stock up on some fresh fruit, drinks, macadamia nuts, sunscreen and booze. My hotel charged $5.50 for a cup of coffee, so it was refreshing to walk over to a sweet store that wasn't price gauging during this global pandemic. I even tried the spam sushi for the first time ever, and it was delicious. I was very happy with my purchases and the friendly aloha spirit of the staff. One of my friends listened to the CEO of ABC stores speak at a conference, and he told me that everything is locally sourced and farmed. This makes me love ABC even more. Sad to write that I saw some of the same stuff at Wal-Mart slightly cheaper, but this place has better selection & is much less expensive than most tourist traps including the Kauai Products Fair. I was offered a "free calender" if I spent $100. I did not make it, but was able to give my receipt to family to combine to get one for somebody else. read more

Whether I'm in Vegas or Hawaii I always stop at ABC for some deals. This is a great place for beverages and gifts and other junky souvenir stuff you really don't need but given you're caught up in the spirit of aloha you feel the need to buy. I duck in here often for sodas and snacks. And I have found they have many of the same gifty items you'll find in the airport stores but for much cheaper. For example, at the ABS store you pay $1.69 for aloha shirt post it notes and at the airport you pay $2.99. The same goes for Mauna Loa treats and other goodies that your mainland buddies will enjoy. If you need a cheesy t-shirt, beach coverup or some beachy jewelry this is a good place for that too. When in Hawaii I often seen locals in here too getting snacks and drinks so you know the prices must be good for them to fight their way through tourists. read more

When we stay at the Kauai Marriott next door, with its small kitchenette, we end up walking over to ABC #59 in Anchor Cove to save some money over the very expensive sundries in Lamont's store in the Marriott. In the past, ABC had more groceries, but now they seem more of a T-shirt and trinket shop than I remember. However, they still have bread, milk, cereal, bananas, and Maui Chips as well as soda, beer, wine and booze - the essentials to sustain life on an island vacation. If you need a new pair of Flip flops, Swim Trunks, T-shirt, Advil, sunscreen, a cold beverage, chips or that last minute souvenir, then this is the place. While waiting for the free shuttle, I wanted a bottle of water. Well, I ended up buying another pair of swimming trunks, a bag of chips and a bottle opener to stick on my fridge.
