Shopping in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii... Having dinner plans in Waikiki, I had found free parking along the Ala Wai canal. While walking to the restaurant, I spotted this ABC Store and took a look around since I had some time to spare. Located on the corner of Liliuokalani and Kuhio Avenue, this convenience store had all of the necessities and more! In the past, I had found Hello Kitty tote bags, plushies, and key chains. Unfortunately, this smaller ABC Store only had Hello Kitty chocolate covered Macadamia nuts. Awww... it was a nice air conditioned break. For anyone that's been to Honolulu Hawaii they will know immediately that the ABC stores are a staple destination in Honolulu or Waikiki especially. This store is pretty small tightly packed and in an area that's a little dicey at sometimes at night. As with just about everything else in Waikiki, bring your pocket book cause you're gonna pay. There is literally an ABC store on every street corner in Waikiki! Some of them are even located right across the street from each other! How about THAT for competition? I stopped by this ABC because I realized that I had forgotten to pack one of the most essential items needed for my trip.... SUNSCREEN! Who the ef forgets sunscreen? Oh yeah, that's right... me of course (hand over face moment). Luckily, I was able to pick up a travel sized one at the store before I headed to the beach. It's so convenient to have these little stores around for your most basic needs. They have tons of snacks, toiletries, and souvenirs. They even have a deli AND they carry makeup products up in there. Um whaaaat??? I mean... I'm not sure who would actually buy makeup from a store like this but heeeey... at least you know that they sell it! I ended up getting some snacks too since I was hangry... ALWAYS hangry! The store was really neat and they have everything labeled and organized which makes it super easy to find things. The store associate was pleasant and he was able to answer my questions. I have no doubt in my mind that ABC will continue to thrive in Waikiki. Located across from the Hilton Waikiki, I came here three times during my short stay in Honolulu. ABC stores are everywhere and find pretty much the same selection. Each time I came, I was able to find what I wanted fairly quick. Sparkling wine, rain poncho, and banana. Price is very reasonable. Skip a hotel gift shop and come here for what you need! They even had banana on sale on the night before the Honolulu Marathon. I went to some other store and saw the price of banana. ABC store had a sale going on for banana, knowing they will sell well especially on the night before the race day! Banana is cheap to begin with but the fact they had 10 cents off on high demand day, I became a fan of ABC store! Staff here seemed more friendly than other ABC stores I visited. read more

Super convenient being everywhere and having alcohol. Very overpriced on basically everything though.

A little bit expensive for example 3$ for a chocolate bar, but they're very convenient and have cheap sushi, cheap in a good way.

Everywhere you go in Waikiki, you are bound to pass by an ABC store. It's like the Starbucks of convenience stores there. They got you covered from the basic necessities like toothbrush/toothpaste/crazy glue/makeup/sunscreen/water to all your souvenir needs such as keychains/postcards/tshirt/shot glasses/mugs/Obama mints/pineapple treats. I love the long store hours. also, keep your receipts to redeem either a reusable bag, mug, or calendar if you spend a total of 100 dollars. I didn't think I would spend so much at the abc store, but when I checked all my receipts at the end of my trip, I found out that did. Check the expiration date before checkout! First, I found some Maui shortcakes that have expired for a couple of months. Later, I found a piece of facial mask from the ABC store completely dried out, then I noticed the exp was 05/31/19. Extremely disappointed with the service and attitude received by the staff here. Domi, the store manager, and the cashier, Cassandra, were rude and chose to only honor one item they had "priced in error". Lots of other options here in Waikiki. Will not be back to this shop! read more

Lets say you're leaving the hotel to head to the beach. You get downstairs and you realize that you forgot the suntan lotion. No worries, there's an ABC store right across the street. Suntan lotion in hand, you start walking when you realize you forgot the bottled water. No worries, there's an ABC store at the end of the block. Keep walking, then you realize you forgot to pack the snacks. Well, that's okay too because the next ABC store is just across the street. Literally at every block, sometimes two on the block. This ubiquitous store is Honolulu's version of 7 eleven and Hudson News; snacks and touristy souvenirs a plenty. read more

Grabbed a pack of beer, went to pay, they refused to sell to me and said "store policy is 11:50 can't sell alcohol after that" it was 11:51 AND state law says alcohol can be sold until 12am. They refused at least 3 liquor sales in front of me and everyone was frustrated because the law says 12am. They just wanted to pack the store up and be done with work. Not okay. read more

Co-worker took me here within the first 24 hours of being in Hawaii, and we went back at least once a day for the rest of the week. Great googly - moogly! I love this place. It has everything that you would ever need in the event of an emergency - food, clothes, shoes, and Hello Kitty knick-knacks. In fact, I bought an entire outfit there one day! Fantastic! Also, it has TONS of souvenirs. Literally, every souvenir that you could conceive of taking from Hawaii, you will find at an ABC store. Plus, the folks behind the counter are very friendly! The prices aren't exorbitant either - tons of bargains! Talk about a convenient store. They have everything from snacks, to beach towels and toys, to souvenirs. They are always open and even have free gifts if you save your receipts. They have one almost every 100 yrds so you know you can get whatever you need anytime. Super cool IMO read more

Other than the overpriced sunblock, this place is great. Price is decent and you can find a large bottle of water for $1 and souvenirs. Packages of chocolate covered macadamia nuts! I effing LOVE ABC stores! They are great because the prices are reasonable. I got some much needed watersocks for 10 bucks, an air mattress for only 2.99 and a good size package of dried mango for 2.99. They sell all kinds of stuff and even some groceries. If you need beach supplies then this is the place for you. The good news is that there is an ABC store and just about every friggin corner and there was one in our hotel mall at the "Royal Hawaiin". I think we shopped at a total of 5 different ABC stores while in Hawaii and Kauai. read more

Best place for cheap souveniers. There are hundreds of these stores over the world and dozens in the Waikiki area. This particular store was across the street from the Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio on the corner of Liliuokalani Ave and Kuhio. Ah, the ubiquitous ABC stores, how convenient it is to have you everywhere! If you ever come to Hawaii without certain essentials, like flip flops, or sunscreen, well, they have them. I can tell you that their flip flops are cheaper than most stores. And they have kiddie sized boogey boards for $17.99. I also know for a fact that their Mac nuts and Choco covered macs are more expensive than Longs Drugs at Ala Moana shopping center. But that's for another review. read more
