    Chicken chipotle smothered burrito
    Dawn C.

Huge menu. Long hours and breakfast served all day. Big portions. Bright clean dining room. There's lots to love here! We came and tried the smothered burritos. I choose Chipotle chicken and it was borderline too spicy for me, luckily the queso on top helped cool things off. DH tried the carne asada burrito with guacamole. It was pure steak inside... Tasty tender meat. (He felt it was seasoned like a steak is usually seasoned and that it was missing the Mexican flavor he was expecting, still liked it though.) Both burritos were huge. No skimping here! Our friend had the un-smothered steak and fries burrito. She liked hers too. We'll come back another time and try the combo platters that come with rice and beans, they looked good too.

The husk on my tamale has mildew. Absolutely disgusting. I ordered a steak ranchero burrito and it was less than appetizing. This was my first and last time eating here. Gross

    Surf & Turf burrito

HUGE portion and delicious! The surf and turf burrito is very filling, I saved half for dinner :) definitely order from here again

We will never return to this restaurant. We ordered our food via GrubHub and they said it would be done no later than 5:52. We arrived at 5:55 only to be told they couldn't find our order. The communication was difficult and when we asked to speak with management, the lady said all three managers were in a meeting in the back of the restaurant. We inquired multiple times on how long the wait would be. Ultimately the order we placed at 5:17 that should have been ready for pick up at 5:52 was ready at 6:19. We get the two small bags of food home that was $61 and of the five items, four were incorrect or missing entirely!!! $61 for a bean tostada and chicken enchilada was the only thing that was correct and two items they didn't even include.

Excellent good and service! We have lived from coast to coast and having spent a lot of time on the west coast we have a good taste for Mexican food. This place hits all the points on excellence for true west coast Mexican cuisine.

Hands-down, the closest thing we have found in years too Southern California Mexican food. Always great service, polite, and extremely fast.

Today was a quick visit for Taco Tuesday. You choose beef or chicken and also choose crunchy or soft tacos. At the moment they are $1.49 each. And the portions are generous. What really makes them great is the cheese, it's very tasty. Chips and salsa are free and bottomless. We usually add a bit of the table side hot sauce... They make an effort to decorate seasonally and have weekly specials you can see on their Facebook page and the chalkboard when you walk in.

I ordered a medium strawberry margarita and I probably should have gotten the small! Oops! It was fairly strong and tasted great. I ordered the enchiladas mexicanas and it was great! I wasn't used to jalapeños being cooked in but it was tasty and full of flavor! The food was served very hot too. I also loved the queso dip! I will definitely tell my friends about this place because it would be the perfect spot for margaritas with the girls. Prices were great too! I actually really liked this place a lot and it might be my top restaurant in Raymore. And that's not the margarita talking!

I'm left wondering... were we in…read morea parallel universe or something‽‽‽ We stopped in after an appointment I'd had on a Monday in Lees Summit. We decided to have a quick early dinner here in town, and did a Yelp search for "great places to eat near me". This place was high in the list. We read the reviews and found ourselves driving around a building that had ZERO markings for the Burn Theory Fire Kitchen on it, but our Maps app said we were here. Turned out, the food for Burn Theory Fire Kitchen was cooked in a food truck in a parking lot and served inside the Diametric Brewing Company which is located at the address listed for Burn Theory Fire Kitchen. I will say, my husband ordered a special beer called "Cherry Street Wheat" and it was very unusual, and seriously tasty!!! I'm not a beer fan, but would drink one of these any day! So, getting back to the food... we'd both ordered a trio of street tacos that we did a mix and match of with their various proteins. We ordered this way to share with each other. We also love to discover new and unusual bites. After reading the reviews and their menu, we were excited for the promise of something uniquely delicious... and were completely disappointed!!! All but one (excluding the shrimp) of the six different tacos we'd ordered, bordered on the inedible side. The proteins were seemingly overcooked, folded into little leathery tortilla shells, and served to our table cold, dry and tough. They tasted as if they had been reheated from the weekends leftovers. Maybe we came on the wrong day. Perhaps if we'd visited on a weekend, or on the same day they were actually cooking the meats initially, we'd had a better experience. I don't know, and frankly do not plan to find out. Additionally, to be fair, their condiments (ie: the Ketchup and BBQ sauce) seemed to be made fresh and made from scratch. They were sadly the best part of our meal. Honorable mention to the Diametric Brewing Company which served us one of the most delicious and unique beers we've ever tasted!

They bring it straight to you when it's done. The guy who brought ours was super nice. He asked if we needed any utensils or sauce. I was just having a beer and then was taking my grub to go so he brought me a bag to carry everything easily. I ordered the Burn Theory Cubano: House smoked ham and pulled pork, melted Swiss cheese, pickles and house made mustard on toasted brioche. This sandwich was huge! It's very shareable if you're ordering sides. The meat was super smoky and I loved the flavor. It's definitely a top 5 Cuban in KC. We ordered several sides: seasoned fries, smoked Mac and cheese, and a Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was good sized and easily shareable as a starter. I liked the house made dressing. If you wanted to have this as an entree, you have the option to add brisket, chicken, or shrimp. I will definitely consider it in the future. The seasoned fries were pretty standard. My boyfriend liked the seasoning and that they didn't put too much on them. My 3 doggos also enjoyed a few. The smoked Mac and cheese was probably my favorite side and I'll have a hard time getting a different one in the future. The Smokey flavor was perfect and not overwhelming. The pasta wasn't overcooked and the sauce was creamy. I end up at Strange Days pretty often and I feel like this is a perfect addition to the area. I'll definitely be ordering from them in the future while I enjoy a beer.
