A #1. Tostada and taco. I asked for beans and rice on the side, in it's own container. That didn't happen.

We always hit up this Abelardo's, and usually, it doesn't do me so dirty. But this trip? This trip tested our patience, wallets, and love for crispy tostadas. Pulling into the parking lot, we noticed it was packed despite only a few diners inside. Apparently, the nearby apartments were thriving this fine Friday night. I opted to go inside rather than brave the drive-thru, which has historically been unkind. It turns out we weren't the only ones with the same idea. The place was buzzing between online orders, drive-thru madness, and a handful of patient patrons. After what felt like forever, we were finally acknowledged and put in our usual order: a breakfast burrito, super nachos, and a #1 combo (beef taco, tostada, beans, and rice in a separate box--because we have standards). I also grabbed a Diet Pepsi because I was parched beyond reason. The total? Nearly $50. But hey, we were hungry, and the heart wants what it wants. The wait, despite the chaos, wasn't too bad. Soon, we were on our way home, the aroma of deliciousness teasing us the whole ride. Spirits were high. Anticipation was real. And then... the great unpacking revealed a gut-wrenching truth. We were missing a box. Cue the panic. What did we get stiffed on? A burrito and two containers sat before us. I opened one--nachos. I opened the other--my combo meal. But something was wrong. The beans had gone rogue. The tostada had taken the full force of the soggy bean explosion, sacrificing itself to save the taco. The taco? Mostly intact. The tostada? A tragic, inedible casualty. I had no choice but to throw it aside and eat my taco of sadness. Was it still tasty? Sure. Was I $ 50 worth of excited about it? Absolutely not. Will we be back? Probably. But not right away. Abelardo's, we need time to heal.

Good spot for late night tacos. You get what you expect except they messed up my order and gave me ground beef instead of fish tacos. Basic and ok.

Ordered $40 worth of food only to have chicken tostadas mistaken for asada tacos, no salsa included and raw chicken nuggets for a kid's meal.

First time here. Huge portions. Very tasty. Clean and friendly. Nice little chip and toppings/salsa bar.

Three bucks for a side order of "guacamole" gets you a condiment cup's worth of runny avocado sauce. Save your money.

Great food. Great price. Recommend the tacos and the quesadillas. Several places around town.

It's super cute inside, with so many bright colors, neat Día de los Muertos murals along the walls, colorful pendants strung on top of the dining area, and a very cool bar with a patterned, arched shelves. Even the dishes and cups are fabulous, with earthenware mugs, blue Talavera style dishes and bowls, and even branded El Milagro margarita glasses. Now more importantly, the FOOD is just as good as the decor and the dishware. They use extra high quality ingredients, and everything is always served hot and fresh. We have had the birria, nachos, street tacos, flautas, and so many other things when we branch out and try something new. Their drink options are also great, with strong margaritas, crisp cervesas, and tasty cocktails. The service is always fantastic, and they are always hopping with customers, so you know you found a good spot. Best of all, you get pretty large portions, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg like some of the newer Mexican restaurants in town. Next time you're thinking about heading to the Texas Roadhouse area, skip the Roadhouse and try El Milagro instead! I guarantee you will not regret your decision.

When we walked in it seemed like our server was the only one there working - drinks took a while to arrive and didn't come as pictured on the passport but were still good. I got the Barria taco meal and never received my rice that went along with it, ended up being fine I was full but could have taken for leftovers. Plenty of tables and cute decor. Overall, the food was the star of the show and our waiter got the job done with our large party it was just slower service than I was hoping for an early off peak meal. Worth it to come in expecting slow service to get a good meal imo!

This last visit they had the entire restaurant decorated for Valentine's Day coming up. But, besides the additional decorations the overall vibe is what you would expect for a Mexican restaurant but more. The service has been friendly and fast! The original Margarita is very good and for the price its about 3 servings. The complementary chips & salsa is great and more of a forgotten service nowadays, but great to see that Alegre is still doing it. The homemade tortilla chips are so good so be careful to not fill up on these before the main entrees. Kendra got the Chile Verde which was massive and was enough food for leftovers the next day. And, I had the Ceviche Sampler which is new and definitely worth every penny! It's hard to find restaurants that have ceviche on the menu, but this has been one of my favorites if you love seafood and a repeater for me! If your looking for more of an upscale $$ Mexican restaurant with great food, service and ambiance it's hard to beat El Muchacho Alegre.

The servers were very friendly and was able to help out when we had questions. The place itself was very well decorated and didn't seem cluttered. They have a lot of metallic art so that was pretty cool.

I highly recommend the tacos. I made a mistake and asked for birria not quesabirria tacos, so make sure to specify that if you want quesabirria (with cheese). But, the birria was good anyways!
