This is a tiny restaurant for pick up or drive through only . The website has detailed menu . It offers delivery options. We have placed a big order for an event . For my group we have cabeza ( beef ) tacos, carnitas plate ( rice bean guacamole and wraps that are heated ) , carnitas taco and Lengus (beef tongue) tacos. The Lengus taco is the best tasting tacos that I have ever tasted . It even tastes better than the Lengus tacos in San Diego and Mexico boarder. The cabeza taco ia good quality beef in rich flavor seasoning . we have ordered one Brirria taco . I dint like the carnitas taci as much cause tge porj meat is too dry and burnt . The photo looks messy because I tilted the box . It was much better presentable when they gave it to me . Taste is very good and large portion for the price . My only complaint is that the carnitas meat are all dry meat from the crispy outside and no tender meat inside . We shall be back to try other items . I opted to go inside rather than brave the drive-thru, which has historically been unkind. It turns out we weren't the only ones with the same idea. The place was buzzing between online orders, drive-thru madness, and a handful of patient patrons. After what felt like forever, we were finally acknowledged and put in our usual order: a breakfast burrito, super nachos, and a #1 combo (beef taco, tostada, beans, and rice in a separate box--because we have standards). I also grabbed a Diet Pepsi because I was parched beyond reason. The total? Nearly $50. But hey, we were hungry, and the heart wants what it wants. The wait, despite the chaos, wasn't too bad. Soon, we were on our way home, the aroma of deliciousness teasing us the whole ride. Spirits were high. Anticipation was real. And then... the great unpacking revealed a gut-wrenching truth. The last 3 weeks or so my boyfriend and I have noticed a new lady running the drive through. Every. Single. Time. Our order is wrong. Tonight I ordered carne asada street tacos after working a double. They asked me to specify if I meant carne asada or ground beef. I told them carne asada, which they confirmed with me. When I got home I somehow wound up with ground beef tacos. I hate to say it but after being a customer for years we will not be coming back here until I know they can get my order right. I never leave reviews but this place got ruined within one month because of a bad hire. I also understand mistakes happen, but the fact that whenever we've tried to confirm our order we're met with rudeness it's just not worth coming back here. The nachos + guacamole have a slight soapy aftertaste. I'm not sure if the fragrance from the cleaner they use transfers from the air into the frying oil or something -- but I've been to this location 3 times (because I wanted to give it multiple chances) and the chips + guac have very faintly tasted like soap each time. Please, someone else confirm I'm not crazy for thinking this. And please, Abelardo's owners, I beg you to fix this problem and stop using cleaner with such a strong scent; because if y'all did I would buy your nachos all the time. Otherwise, the burritos are good and I haven't noticed the soapy smell with their other menu items, which is why I wonder if it may be an issue with the frying oil. Abelardo's locations are hit or miss. Some are great, some are... less great. I'm posting this to warn others away from paying $2.99 for a side order of "guacamole." Three bucks gets you a tiny condiment cup (pictured with an ibuprofen for scale) of... something. It's definitely not guacamole, but some kind of runny avocado sauce. Just awful. Fast food is too expensive these days to pay so much for so little. On the plus side, this location almost always has cabeza available, which a lot of other locations struggle with. Now that they offer multiple Birria options, this is my go to for fast and delicious authentic Mexican food. Plus with many Omaha locations, it's not hard to find one making it accessible for all who are ready to take a flavor vacation south of the border - at pretty much anytime of the day & night as most locations are open until 3am, making this the go to late night food joint in the area!! They serve fast food/traditional Mexican, with torta, burritos, taquito, and platter dishes all on the menu. Service was pretty slow at 10pm. While I stood at the counter and was seen by 3 staff in the kitchen, it still took the register lady 6 long minutes to come and take my order. It felt like an hour because of how hungry I was. Beefy goodness. I first tried Abelardo's probably ten years ago. When I first started eating here I would order the chicken enchiladas, which were delicious. One day I switched it up. I ordered the number seven combo meal, The number seven combo meal consists of two huge freaking beef burritos with rice and refried beans. I can put down a ton of food and could easily win an eating contest, that being said I only need to eat one of these monsters to fill me up. I usually get a couple of the salsas and hot sauces to try and dip the complimentary tortilla chips in for a nice little appetizer as Albelardo's constructs my massive burritos in under five minutes. I also like that they have the pickled carrots and jalapenos to munch on as well. I wash this meal down with a large Horchada Mexican rice milk drink. Tasty read more

The old Reed's Ice Cream and Valentino's pizza spot was converted to the delicisiousness that is Abelardo's in the early 2010's. If you haven't noticed, Abelardo has 11 restaurants spread throughout the city not to mention Iowa, Missouri and South Dakota. I've personally been to many of the Omaha locations and I have to say this one is my favorite. The quality is always great, the staff is friendly and the food is spot on. I typically order a sausage and egg breakfast burrito and immediately save a third for later. I also recently discovered the hash brown burrito which swaps out the diced spuds for hash browns and includes egg, sausage and bacon. When I'm in the mood for tacos, which is always, I typically opt for a fried beef taco or the carne asada. One day I will try the nachos and super fries. read more

This is definitely a mom and pop restaurant and it is AUTHENTIC! Prices are reasonable and the food is made to order and made quick!
