Stopped here on a road trip between Chicago + Denver, and we were so impressed that we stopped again on our way back from Denver. Everything here was super elevated. My husband actually said it was the best kabob of his life, which was really wild to me because we eat kabob all the time LOL. It really was incredibly good though.. The pita is also super soft and fluffy. I stuck to the GF option on our first visit, but tried some of the sourdough on our second visit with no negative reactions. Service was a bit slow, but also attentive, giving a true Mediterranean vibe. I also appreciated that on our second visit, several people seemed to be out to lunch by themselves, enjoying a mid day glass of wine/reading a book- so perfect If we are ever in Omaha again, we will definitely be back! Easily one of Omaha's top restaurants, we were excited to try Clio out for lunch this time! We did have reservations at 12, which happy we did, busy busy busy the entire time we were there! The vibe is immaculate, they definitely went all out, so fun to get dressed up and have a fancy date night! The service was top tier, everyone was perfect and very polite and on top of their game! Parking is rough, there's a parking garage behind the building, but meters around it are basically hit and miss, give yourself time to park! I recently tried this Mediterranean restaurant in downtown Omaha, and it was absolutely excellent. The food was so fresh and flavorful -- truly one of those meals where you wish you had more room in your belly to keep going. The crispy potatoes alone were worth the visit. I honestly could've just ordered those and been happy. They were perfectly seasoned and addictive. I also had the chicken kebabs in a gluten-sensitive tortilla, and everything was cooked beautifully. You can tell they care about quality. The restaurant itself is very cute and stylishly decorated, with a fun, lively atmosphere. It was busy -- and for good reason. When I arrived, only bar seating was available unless I wanted to wait a couple of hours. Since it was just me, I grabbed a spot at the bar, and it worked out perfectly. Downtown Omaha is a bit of a mess right now, but I was able to get there early, find parking, and make it back to my hotel without any issues. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. Probably more like 4.5/5 stars. I flew into Omaha for a work trip and meet up with some friends who lived an hour away. I did some research and found this place and wanted to give it a try. I'll say, the food was very delicious! We got here around 8 pm, so it wasn't as busy, although they still had a bunch of people dining. The restaurant was nicely decorated and our server was nice. She explained the menu and we took a glance at it. I wanted to try their salmon kabob (per the recommendation of the server) and my friends got their orders too. We all added a pita for a dollar each I think. We also got an app for the table (I think the Turkish dumplings). The food came out and it all looked very delicious. The flavors were all great. The salmon was soft and flakey and had nice flavors. Squeeze a little bit of lemon on it and mmm delicious! The rice was also very good and paired well with the salmon. The only negatives in my opinion is the price (it's not a cheap place to eat), and the portion size was, in my opinion, a bit smaller than I would have liked. For instance, I finished my plate and I didn't feel hungry anymore, but I also didn't feel full. Especially for a $30 plate, I wished they put more rice or something. Overall, it was a good experience and I'm glad I tried it out. read more

The dip combo is the star of the place, it is a must-get! All of the different menu items we've gotten have been wonderful- potatoes, kebabs, branzino. Only down side is service timing has been off every time we've gone. First time we waited about 15 minutes after plates were cleared before getting our check and waited again for them to pick up the payment. Our most recent time we got the dip appetizer and not even 5 minutes later our main course was brought to the table. Apart from the timing glitch, the two-top table is very small so there wasn't really space to have everything at once. read more

I love the ambiance at Clio and all the options they have on the menu so it was the perfect fit for my birthday dinner. I booked a table for 14 a month in advance for my party and confirmed the week of - unfortunately we had to wait about 45 minutes after our reservation to be seated. (Pro-tip grab a drink at any bar nearby if you think the wait will be long). The food itself was great, we tried a few starters and entrees that were shared across the table. I'm a sucker for burrata so I would highly recommend that or the 4 spreads for your starters! The drinks were also great - the Hugo spritz is light and delicious. The mains were also very good and I was thrilled that they had some SOLID and varied gluten free and vegan friendly options for my friends. We had some issues with the check at the end, but due to our timing issues, they comped a few of our starters from the bill. Plus they gave me a birthday dessert on the house! Overall, I'd still very muchrecommend trying Clio, but maybe try to stick to a smaller group for less issues. read more

I finally made it to Clio after hearing so many friends rave about it--and now I see why! I don't usually go for Mediterranean food, but I'd heard their happy hour was one of the best in Omaha for both food and drinks. I went after a Friendsgiving, so I wasn't all that hungry (tragic timing, because everything that came out of the kitchen looked incredible). I decided to focus on the drinks and tried both the Cardamom Espresso Martini and the Pistachio Espresso Martini--and wow. I've never had either flavor anywhere else, and they were absolutely amazing. Perfectly balanced, creative, and dangerously easy to sip. Even though I didn't try the food this time, the atmosphere was lively without being too loud, and the service was great. What a lovely restaurant. I went for lunch, and Clio checks all the boxes. 1st off there is a wine, beverage and mocktail list. For those who don't drink alcohol, and don't want to be relegated to a cola out of a soda gun, this is a delightful place to go for craft mocktails. We got the sausage and date wrapped in bacon which satisfied the sweet salty combo. It was a little unusual for the 1st bite, but the appetizer grew on us as we ate it. What a treat! I have been remiss in not getting to this wonderful restaurant sooner. In business for a little over a year, Cleo offers a taste of the Mediterranean right in the Old Market. We arrived around 4 PM on a Thursday afternoon and we're quickly made aware that business is doing well as we did not have reservations and were able to grab a table in the lounge area that was open. Located in the former Wheatfield building, Cleo has been completely refinished and wonderfully remodeled. A modern, somewhat Middle East meets the Mediterranean, vibe. Really great decor, well maintained, immaculately clean. The staff is all exceptionally well, trained, very professional and attentive. Because we were at the restaurant between (Mon-Fri) 2 and 6 PM, we enjoyed some of the happy hour appetizers that were being offered at a reduced rate. Absolutely nothing disappointed! Traditional dishes, beautifully presented, amped up with sophisticated sauces, and unique combinations. The absolute hit of the evening was the lamb shank, a dish that takes several days to prepare and is well worth the extra expense for an out of body experience ! A nice selection of drinks, a full bar, and NA options. Join their wine club and enjoy wine deals to go. We had a little bit of a road bump with order timing, but the manager stepped up and definitely set things right. I really enjoyed the relaxed feeling of not having to rush through my dinner ala American style as we had a nice 2+ hour dining experience. The hostess was great about setting expectations for various types of table and how long they were available, which leads me to the one important observation, which is I would always recommend having a reservation. My husband surprised me with a birthday dinner here recently! It had been on my list to try for a LONG time because all of my friends who have already been sang its praises nonstop. I decided to celebrate with a pistachio martini and it is, hands down, one of the best cocktails I have ever had in my life. It was like drinking an alcoholic melted pistachio kulfi. Absolutely sublime. In fact, my husband (who I let have a couple sips) and I liked it so much that he asked the bartender on our way out how they make it and then got the pistachio liqueur the next day. For our meal, we shared the four dips, the potatoes, the falafel, and the eggplant. Everything came out as it was prepared. The dips came with the pitas - oh my goodness! These pitas were hot and fresh! They were pillowy soft and so good. Out of all the dishes, the eggplant was my favorite, but they were all good. Of the dips, the Muhammara was my overall pick. But seriously, you will not go wrong picking any of the food here. The staff surprised me with a birthday dessert and let us pick it out from their dessert menu. They said the sticky toffee pudding was the most popular, so of course we had to try that. It came with a candle and everything! And it was the PERFECT way to finish the meal. Very cute Mediterranean style restaurant with cuisine influences that span from the Adriatic Sea to the Aegean sea and from Greece to Turkey to Lebanon. A friend was able to make reservations a few weeks in advance because this place is wildly popular. We had a short wait for a table for 4 and I was able to admire some of the decor reminiscent of the Greek isles like Santorini and Crete. We started with the sampling of 4 spreads: Hummus, Muhammara, Labneh & Baba Ganoush. They were great with the in-house made pita bread. We decided to order entrees family style and since this was Mediterranean, we got 2 fish dishes as well as 2 meat dishes to share. All entrees came with rice, tomato & pickled onion salad and a dollop of hummus. The Branzino Fillet was seasoned and grilled perfectly as well as the Salmon Kabob. The Lamb Shank Tajine was braised until it was fall off the bone tender. But I was really surprised by the depth of flavor from the Shawarma Spiced Half Chicken, favorite of the night. It was a small spring chicken, perfectly seasoned and was super tender. Service was impeccable, so if you can get a reservation for Clio, jump on it. You won't regret it. read more

We checked out Clio before going to the Orpheum and were not disappointed! Clio is a new restaurant in downtown Omaha, and is a spot worth checking out. The inside is beautiful and feels like you were thrown into a little slice of Greece. The only downside is there isn't a ton of seating, which means if you plan to come here I'd definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. Once seated the service was amazing. The waiter helped walk us through the menu since it was our first time, and was really helpful explaining all the gluten free options to me. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they had gluten free pita, which I was really excited for. We got the baba ganoush to share and it was one of the best I've ever had! The spritz I got to drink had a cherry flavor and was very refreshing. The salmon kabob was incredible! It was filling while also not being super heavy. I've been wanting to try Clio for a while and finally lucked out. My sister and I were able to walk in and get seated for lunch on a random weekday. It's usually packed, so we felt like we scored! I ordered the Greek salad and my sister got the Fattoush. Both were super fresh, flavorful and generously portioned. The skin is thin and full of flavor, the meat is tender and juicy . They use the chicken leg and upper thigh. This is a 5/5 The salmon Kabob. What a great evening! We were in town for the NCAA college baseball championships. After a long day outside, we were looking for a good meal and great service. We found both at Clio's! I anticipated having a difficult time getting reservations due to the popularity and busy downtown, but to my surprise, the hostess was able to see our party of three extremely quickly. The waiter came to her table shortly thereafter, and offered lots of insight to the menu and cocktail list. We ended up going with the Fig Sour and Casa Clio from the cocktail menu as well as the four spreads from the appetizer list. Even our eight-year-old love the spreads. We ordered the Turkish dumplings, potatoes, yellowtail, and short rib special. Everything was so dang delicious. The short rib was my absolute favorite, but it was a specialty item off a special menu. I am so glad that we stopped and gave this place a try! This is a very nice space but wow does it get busy! The falafel plate was awesome as was the branzino. I didn't try the cocktails but I heard those were quite tasty as well. The last couple times we were there we did have some glitches with the servers, but generally the staff is very friendly and quite attentive. We had to grab the hostess to get a server to come over, i think there was a bit of confusion about who was assigned to our table. Once they did everyone was extremely apologetic and very attentive. I recommend a reservation even during the week if you want to sit at a table but bar service is also a good option as long as you're not there with a larger group.
