I think they open at 5, so I told myself I'd come back at 5 and I actually did. The food was really good, you can tell from the picture lol. The service was great and everyone was super nice. We had an excellent dinner at Dynamite Woodier Grill recently while staying at the hotel the restaurant is located within. Actually, we enjoyed our meal and service so much we had dinner there twice. First off, the restaurant is really well designed inside. It's a really contemporary space with a great vibe. The service is exceptional (for dinner) and they go out of their way to take care of their guests. Then comes the cocktails, which were also quite excellent. And they have an extensive (VERY extensive) wine list! Impressive. The food is also (mostly) excellent. We dine in fine restaurants all over the world from Chicago to Paris to Tokyo and London and the food here was top quality, prepared exceptionally, and really delicious--largely due to their wood fire oven. I hadn't seen an oven like this since Grant Achatz's Roister/Fire in Chicago. I was very impressed. We started with Wood Fired Oysters, which were delicious. Their house corn bread and honey butter were also quite good. I normally don't care for corn bread but this was a really nice accompaniment. My wife and I shared the ribeye and truffle cava mac and cheese. Both were very good. On our second dinner we had Omaha Farmer's Board, a very good charcuterie and meats appetizer. But the Ricotta Agnolotti was our only complaint to this truly exceptional restaurant. The pasta dish felt like it was trying too hard to be fancy. A parmesan foam on top was cold, brining a nice hot dish down. The overall look of the plated dish was "overfull diaper." Not appetizing. The creme brûlée was very good. Overall, highly recommend this place as a steakhouse with an incredible wood fired grill. This place should be busier than when we went, to be sure. It deserves attention and it deserves to be recognized as one of the top restaurants in Omaha. read more

We loved the decor and upscale but chill vibe of their dining room. They gave us this nice booth looking out the window and we were able to watch traffic pass by. I really wanted to love this place because the atmosphere is beautiful and the service was truly great. Unfortunately, the food is where it fell short for me, personally. For a cocktail, I ordered the Sweater Weather which is essentially their take on an espresso martini. Flavor-wise, it was solid, and the cinnamon rim topping gave it a churro-like sweetness that made it feel almost like dessert. They start you off with complimentary cornbread shaped like actual corn, which was such a fun touch and honestly delicious. We also shared the Omaha Farmer's Board, which had a nice variety and was great for the table to snack on. For my entrée, I ordered the Ricotta Agnolotti without mushrooms in the sauce. I appreciated that the chef was able to accommodate that request since I'm not a mushroom fan. The flavors were good, but for the price, the portion size was really disappointing. There were only four small strips of agnolotti. I finished it in about five minutes and left still hungry. I'd be open to giving it another try and ordering something different because it truly is a cool spot with great service. I was just really disappointed in the portion size for the price. read more

Dynamite Woodfire Grill is located in the Farnam Hotel, an upscale, modern high-end design property that is very well located in downtown Omaha. Everyone has their opinions about a "hotel restaurant" and they're usually not great - but Dynamite doesn't fit that stereotype at all. It's a very beautiful, well designed, and exceptionally well operating fine dining experience. The space is gorgeous with its layout, furnishings, lighting, and finishes. The kitchen, back of their main bar, is a sight to behold with its Beech custom made woodfired ovens from Australia. As a diner its fascinating to watch the staff and the flames, and enjoy the sounds and scents emanating from this cooking process. We didn't sample any of the drinks, opting for an IPA and a bottle of wine. We selected a Hartford Court Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2019 for $89 and we absolutely loved it! Key to that great experience was the wait staff replacing our beautiful Bourdeau glasses set on the table with the appropriate Burgandy wine glass - and especially key to me was the absolute crystal-clear condition of every glass. I'm a stickler for the beauty, design, and cleanliness of glassware in a restaurant. Dynamite understands wine and people who love it! We began our dining experience with two shareables. Our highest review went to the Panko-Breaded Stuffed Blue Cheese Olives - beautiful and an amazing flavor. We added the Spanish Octopus, and it was also good but paled in flavor to the olives. For dinner starters we chose a Wedge Salad and the Crab Gazpacho. The wedge was artfully presented with a great addition of bacon lardons and house-made blue cheese dressing. The absolute star was the Crab Gazpacho. Poured tableside with a mound of tender crab, topped with a small scoop of icy cold avocado sorbet sitting in the center of the bowl. An impressive presentation that was exceeded by the taste. Exquisite! Dinner choices were the Prime Ribeye, perfectly seasoned and grilled on a white plate, with a side of Truffle Mac & Cheese served in a cast iron ramekin with lid, and the tender and mild Miso Wild King Salmon. Both were excellent entrees. The highlight, besides all of the above, was our server, Chris. This guy is a pro! Engaging, fast, fully knowledgeable, and fun. The perfect combination to season a great dinner with great service. Omaha has a lot of great places for steak and fine dining. Dynamite deserves a spot near the top. read more

Some of the side dishes were just OK, particularly the truffle mac and cheese. The service was above average but the price point was a little steep for what you are getting. Stopping in for some brunch at the dynamite! I was delighted to find out that this location is available for brunch. An added bonus was that they take reservations, which can really take the edge off of long waits on the weekends. Located off the newly renovated Gene Leahy mall, metered street parking is available (free on Sundays). The Dynamite is adjacent to the lobby of the AC Marriott. We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated for our reserved table. Our servers were just super, walking us through options on the menu and just offer the pleasant visit. The menu was surprisingly extensive and pricing in line with brunch restaurants in Omaha area. Having a small group allowed us to try a number of things and everything we had was just outstanding. Breakfast and lunch standards all done perfectly and added twists made for creative and delicious options. The restaurant is cozy (I love a full set of cutlery and linen napkins) and clearly offers a tremendous wine selection. Everything about this visit was five stars and we will be back! Can't wait to try their dinner menu. After brunch, we began talking with the host, who proceeded to show us the back patio area that is open in the evenings on weekends and offers a wonderful outdoor seating area, as well as a full bar inside. read more

After selecting the salmon the server informed me that the salmon hasn't been changed on the menu in four years because it is so popular. Unfortunately, it was not enjoyed by me. I thought it was salty, overcooked, and dry. The miso was incredibly salty and the glaze was very sweet. The sweetness didn't go well with the vegetables. The vegetables were too soft. My husband ordered a medium rare ribeye. He said it was too salty and prepared rare. He ate it but if it were me, I would have had to send it back. We typically don't complain or send food back and we chose not to for this situation either. However, if we would have, I'm sure our server Chris would have accommodated. It is a nice hotel restaurant but I don't foresee a second visit in the future. It has the appearance and price of upscale but the execution and delivery was mediocre. The restaurant has two sections separate by the wall of wine bottles. The majority of guests seemed to be getting seated in the smaller section and it became quite loud. I think my biggest regret is not asking to be moved to the main seating area which was much quieter and spacious. The ambience looked nicer too. read more

The ambiance was nice but our server seemed overwhelmed and continuously attempted to up-sale us with the most expensive liquors and wines. We started with a variety of apps, the Ruben Croquettes were well fried but the caraway seeds overwhelmed the little ball and the Corn Beef has the texture of potted meat. The Octopus was by far the best app, it was perfectly grilled and accompanied by fingerling potatoes atop a flavorful sauce. For a main, I had the ribeye and found it to be under seasoned and lacking flavor which is odd considering it's a ribeye. I really enjoyed the opportunity to check out a new downtown restaurant on a recent Friday night. As the name implies, a lot of the dishes focus on a smoky flavor - from the cocktails and appetizers to entrees themselves. Our table enjoyed the charcuterie and cheese and I liked the smoked beet salad to start. I went with the short ribs for dinner and for me, the meat was more like a pot roast, than short ribs. The food was very blah for the price point. The best thing I had was the creamed corn. That was delightful. The braised beef was supposed to be tender and it was not. It was overall tough or fatty. I was very disappointment in that meal. The flavors didn't pair well together either. My boyfriend and our friends all got the NY strip which was good and the baked potato was ok too. For the price though, everything was very underwhelming and we were bummed. The strawberry rhubarb 75 was refreshing but for $15 I would've rather had anything else. Very expensive and not worth it. We had been at Dynamite once before for appetizers and enjoyed everything about it; the food, atmosphere, and service. So, on this trip we treated our friends to a night out and we were blown away. First, our waiter Armando was fabulous! He's very knowledge about food, traveling, and pairing wine to food. THE FOOD: our friends had dined here before and noticed the menu had changed, which is normal obviously. I'm excited to see what changes they will have next. I had the 8 oz. Beef Tenderloin which is sourced from Piedmontese Beef, an excellent operation in Lincoln. We buy their meat for home cooking. I recommend Piedmontese if you see it on a menu, it's likely from the Lincoln operation. It was prepared just as ordered, medium and well seasoned. Tender. You are offered a side, which I choose a loaded baked potato (prepared very well) and a side of sauce. I was torn between bernaise and horseradish. I was served both. Bernaise was a bit bland. Honestly, the filet didn't need any sauce. My dining partner ordered Tagliatelle with 4 oz. sliced filet at an additional cost. I was tempted to order this too. It's the only menu item I noticed that had the option to add beef, fish, or shrimp. This has noodles with Wild Mushrooms, Coconut Dashi Broth, and Baby Arugula. I sampled it and was still torn as to which once I should have ordered. Both menu items were solid. The coconut broth was interesting to say the least. The Reuben croquettes were not to my liking. Some people might like them but I was not a fan. The tomahawk porkchop was excellent. Drinks were very good. The waiter was also working a holiday party so the service was a little less than excellent but he was still very good. The bourbon brownie for dessert was amazing and would definitely get it again. I had never been or even heard of Dynamite before but overall loved the brunch my girlfriends coordinated for their back room area. Google does not show their hours correctly, and Instagram does not have a location tag. The menu was on an iPad and I absolutely loved that you could tap on any menu item and see a picture of it! Such a cool feature that every place should adopt! The pictures were very accurate too. I loved the flavor of my eggs benefict, and it came out with the extra side of hollandaise that I asked for (the perfect amount) and I subbed fruit for the potatoes. Great flavor and texture on the French toast as well which I tried with a friend! The only potential con I found here was the smaller portion sizes. Not a problem for me, but it's not the place to go for a huge brunch. Also, there was no bartender at this time so no cocktails available. This is because it is basically an upscale hotel breakfast spot in the mornings from what I can tell. Loved the overall ambiance though! read more

Very beautiful inside. Nice service. The steak, highlight of the meal, was very underwhelming. I have made better steaks purchased from Costco and grilled myself. It took them forever to get it to me only to have a large vein of gristle or tendon running through the entire steak. Perhaps there was a sale for steaks at Kmart I was unaware of. For my money, I could have done better at home. Delicious sides and appetizers though. read more

The food is amazing and along with the perfect blend of wine or their in house cocktail it's a feast. We ordered breaded stuff olives for appetizer. They go really well with the wine. The complimentary corn bread with honey butter was a cherry on top. We ordered the cauliflower steak( the only option for a vegetarian) and island salmon. They both were really amazing.
