    The stuffed lobster is terrific!

This restaurant is a real treasure. Try coming on a Friday or Saturday night for the karaoke. This is our favorite place in all of Germantown, in fact in the whole area. Great beers on tap, great margaritas or other drinks wonderful appetizers. And best of all you will be treated like family.

Monday 5/27/2024 I made an order for takeout (through google) and got: tamal de pollo $2.95, empanada de platano $3.50, burrito abi (shredded chicken) $10.95, and fajita abi $20.95. - Fajita abi (a mix of 3 proteins: chicken, steak, and shrimp) * this dish is pretty solid but I was expecting the portions of steak and shrimp to be a bit more than what I got. * (rating: 7.4/10) - Burriti abi * this burrito was alright but a bit messy and I was expecting burrito to be a bit bigger. * (rating: 6.7/10) - Empanda de Platano * this was easily my favorite item: sprinkled lightly with sugar and tastes just like a platain. It's a unique and tasty item but I see it as more of a "fritter" rather than an Empanda. (Definitely an item I'd come back for) * (rating: 8.1/10) - Tamal de pollo * this was my first time trying a tamale and it's a no for me. The texture and taste threw me off especially when there wasn't any chicken in some parts of it. * (rating: 5.5/10) Overall, this place has some decent Mexican and Salvadoran food but nothing was particularly impressive besides the unique empanada de platano which carries the food experience (and the review rating).

Stopped by on a Saturday around 2pm. It wasn't as busy despite many to go orders. Staff was quick and attentive. Good prices on the food. I really enjoyed the pastelitos de carne. I would come back to try other food items if I'm ever in the area again.

This was my first time trying this place and it was really good!!!! I got the steak fajitas which came with three tortillas (your choice of corn or flour tortillas). I, personally, got flour and it was delish! The meat, rice, beans, guacamole, and pica de gallo were amazing, too! I have nothing bad to say about this place! Also, got the white chocolate mousse & the tres leches as a dessert and it was very good too! I would definitely recommend going here if you're in the area and would definitely go here again! Thanks Abi Azteca!! :D

I had already ate at a a great Trinidadian restaurant next door. So i wanted a drink. I came in I sat down and the bartender was just RUDE AS HECK. He seemed like it was a burden to serve me at first, but life is hard, so I didn't think too much about it. So after he finally comes to me, he ask me do I want a drink, I said yes, and I ask if they had Howler Head he said no, I was about to order another drink and within 3 seconds he just walked away, to the other side of the bar in the middle of me ordering. I waited to see if maybe he had to severe someone else, but he did not to serve someone else, we walked away to do bar work and throw trash away. That could've clearly waited til after my drink was served. One of the rudest and disrespectful interactions I've ever had at a bar. I work too hard to ever spend the money I earn in an establishment like this. Never ever ever again

So I never knew this place existed and I've driven around this plaza for ages... but a quick search for something new... and here we go! It's pandemic time so key facts: Call or online order if picking up. You're gonna have to go in to get it. There is indoor and patio seating. Food: got a pork and cheese pupusa and tamal de Pollo (chicken) and carne asada and large horchata. Horchata- large means large! And not overly sweet so a nice treat Tamal - yum!! Best one I've had in the area, and i have tried many... will be back for this. The flavors are complex and on point. Pupusa- good but not the best ever. I would get it again but not my go to thing Carne- thin and cook as specified. Not bad. Overall, will be back but may try other items...

Whoa Nelly...where have you been my whole life ABI Azteca?? I've passed this place many times and have never really thought much about it until I was craving Mexican and in Germantown with limited options. Yelp helped me yet again. We arrived on a Friday evening at approximately 6:30 and the place as fairly empty that changed quickly. At first I noticed many Latinos. I'm a firm believer that if there are a lot of representatives of the culture in which food you are about to eat, it's gotta be good. I was right! We ordered jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and they were super hot with an enchilada sauce. For my entree I ordered shrimp wrapped in bacon off the "specials" menu. I loved it so much that I would plead to the menu gods to put it on the permanent menu. The shrimp was very good, but the bacon made the entire dish. The beans were pretty good, but the shrimp was the star of the show. So hot, so good. I'm craving it already and I haven't even left the restaurant yet! Now for the Service. Every single staff member in the place (besides the bartender) visited our table. Whether to pick up the empty plates, drop off food, ask for a drink refill was needed, etc. you get the point. Highly impressed. Will absolutely, positively 100% return!

I've been coming here for years, and it's one of those places that never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious, the atmosphere is lively, and you always know you're going to leave happy. I'm originally from Honduras, and one of our staple dishes... arguably THE staple dish... is the baleada. A fresh flour tortilla filled with refried beans, cheese, and crema, with the option to add extras like eggs, avocado, or different meats. I knew this had to be where Kyler experienced his very first baleada. To say it was a success would be an understatement. Kyler isn't the most adventurous eater, so getting his stamp of approval is a pretty big deal. He's officially a fan for life! We were there with my mom, and all three of us ordered some variation of a baleada along with pupusas to share. I also had to introduce Kyler to our version of horchata, which is different from the Mexican horchata he was used to. As an added bonus, we happened to visit during the World Cup, and the energy in the restaurant made the experience even more fun. Between the familiar flavors, sharing a piece of my culture with someone I love, and the consistently great food, this meal ended up being one of the highlights of our trip back to Maryland. If you've never had a baleada before, let La Casita be your introduction. You won't regret it.

The decor is super cute and even the coasters had the logo which i thought was a cute touch. It was JUMPIN' this night! It was a Saturday - they had a DJ, waitresses dressed in matching outfits, and it was packed in there. Disco lights went crazy. Somehow we were able to get a table and sat down to order food. We thought we could get good margaritas here but the only flavor they offered was lime unfortunately. Our food took a really long time to come out but when it did, omg it was worth the wait. It was hot and you could tell everything was fresh and quality. Side note: knowing Spanish will help a lot when coming here. It's a mainly Spanish speaking establishment. Luckily, I'm Latina so I could communicate with the waitress once I noticed her English wasn't strong. All in all, this is a good spot for good Mexican food and late night food. I just give it 4 stars for the lack of cocktails...they didn't have a lot of what showed on the menu (pina coladas, etc.) and for the long wait for food when most people were just drinking at the bar.

While waiting to get it fixed we Found Antojitos, a little Mexican cantina in an older strip mall. It was early aftternoon, and there were several groups of men and families eating and drinking. I sensed that they had been there for awhIle, and intended to stay longer, as if this www how they usual spent their Saturday afternoons. Scanning the menu for something interesting my eyes caught the word Mondongo. Reading the menu details ( in Spanish only) I conFirmed that this was a rich tripe stew. I think my son had a steak and egg burrito. Our meals took a while to arrive. Maybe 20 mInutes. The Mondongo was served in a large bowl. The rich orange broth was brimming with large chunks of glistening honeycomb tripe. I Waac also thrilled to encounter chunks of cartilaginous knuckle bones, and a medley or recognizable and non recognizable fruits and vegetables. First, the broth. It was rich with Umami suggesting hours of boiling down pigs feet and knuckle bones. It had a tomato background, but also tasted of pumpkin, and even roasted pumpkinseeds. There was a hint of masa harina reminiscent of tamales. I couldn't identify the other flavors, maybe star anise or allspice. There were big chunks of yuccaa, and plantain slices skin and all. There was some green, maybe chayote. But the Honeycomb Tripe. The three times washed washed cow's stomach was soft and soothing. For the FIRST TIME EVER, I enjoyed a bowl of stomach without any odor or flavor of offal. I keep trying without success to replicate that recipe. Fortunately we have another soccer tournament in two weeks. I'll be back. Jim L

I arrived around that time and waited in line, which seemed to take forever. When I walked in, there were a few people seated at tables, including a man by the door who obviously had a few too many beers, which is not my business, but it definitely creates an uncomfortable atmosphere when you walk in and he's staring at every woman like a full course meal. When I finally got up to the register, I gave them my name and the lady went to check and told me another 15 mins. I paid for my food and waited outside since I was not feeling the atmosphere. I contemplated ordering horchata, until I saw that they had them in open buckets and scooped them in the cups. Normally I wouldn't mind, but with the current situation, that was a big no, no! Everyone was wearing masks, but not too certain that distancing was really enforced, although the attempt was there. After about 50 mins since I placed my order, I finally got my food. My husband loved the tipico platter, but the papusas were definitely not my favorite compared to other local spots. I'm not sure that I would come back.
