Came by for happy hour one afternoon and enjoyed a few items. Started off with a butterfly tea mocktail, it was okay a bit on the sour side but still a fun drink. We got the burger and truffle fries to share, along with / rolls and the karrage chicken. The burger was good with the caramelized onions but nothing significant to write home about. My favorite items though were the truffle fries, and the hot honey karaage we asked for the honey on the side so that we're able to share with our little but it was super crispy, and the chicken bites were juicy and delicious it didn't even need the honey. I truthfully don't love pickles but the pickles were delicious and I ate them all! The sushi rolls were both really fresh and had great flavor. Overall a good experience I'd like to come back during regular hours to try their regular menu. We were a bit disappointed that the only available menu was the happy hour one which was pretty limited. read more

I went to Guildhall for brunch on a Sunday. We ordered the cinnamon roll, shakshuka with a side of sausage, and the omelette. Everything tasted fresh and delicious! The cinnamon roll was surprisingly moist (we were skeptical due to its appearance) and sweet! The restaurant is bright and the service was very friendly. There was a nice mix of customers and there was even a party going on while we were there. I don't remember when I was last in Glencoe. It's charming! I'd love to come back for dinner or happy hour. read more

The inside of this restaurant is beautiful! You can also order sushi and Japanese food. There are two restaurants that share the kitchen. I really liked the mushroom toast. Lots of unique mushroom and the creamy white sauce was delicious! The spinach ravioli was also delicious! each ravioli was stuffed. The service was attentive. Great space with great service, strong drinks and kind of hit or miss menu. The sushi is actually spot on. Every roll we ordered was great. My mezcal margarita was very strong. We got three different pasta dishes and only the seafood arrabbiata was a hit, as was the burger. Would definitely come back for the sushi if I'm in the area. read more

The turkey club sandwich is great! I got the asparagus soup as the side and shared it with my partner. Beautiful large room of tables and they had the windows open for fresh spring air. It has a beach house feel. Very cozy and inviting. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. They went and asked the kitchen to confirm there were no onions in the soup (I have so many silly allergies). It's always nice seeing them care about how you will do with their menu. I know I can't eat just anywhere. but the menu is easy to navigate and I liked the vibe. Maybe a little ritzy for me to be honest! Music wasn't too loud for lunch. I like being able to have a real conversation in a restaurant. Would definitely come again to try something else on the menu. read more

We attended a private event at Guildhall. It was a Sunday brunch. We were seated in a private dining room. It was airy, modern, rustic and welcoming all at once. The staff was so accommodating and sincere. Def on game when it came to taking away plates and clearing the table. They also offered good suggestions for drinks. Food was preordered and served family style. We tried avocado toast, mini Greek yogurt fruit cups, eggs Benedict, chicken and waffles, potatoes and cinnamon rolls for dessert. All the food was good but the cinnamon rolls were amazing. I'd also say the avocado toast stands out as excellent. Parking on the street or in one of the many free lots nearby. read more

Nice ambience - trendy, spacious, plus I still felt comfortable bringing my kids - there is a kids menu after all. My kids love the hot dog and the homemade apple sauce (I agree the apple sauce is truly delicious). I will say that at dinnertime, the choice of colors on the menu made it very uncomfortable to read in the dim lighting. Service was attentive and friendly. For lunch, I recommend the nicoise salad. At dinner, the sushi exceeded our expectations (a nice surprise, we weren't expecting there to be sushi at all). Our entrees were delicious but we felt that at this price point (mid $30s for most entrees), the dishes were missing a third component. For example, the schnitzel came with slaw - I would have appreciated a vegetable (or apple sauce!). The swordfish was cooked perfectly and tender, but sat atop slightly too little rice. It could have used a vegetable too. Finally, there's a nice wine list, and some interesting cocktails, but I was disappointed that there wasn't a single bourbon or whiskey -based cocktail on the list. read more

Went for dinner without reservations on a busy Wednesday evening. We got seats inside and our waiter responded in ~10 minutes of seating. Went for Easter with a relatively large group. Wonderful server (Sandra). Courteous and efficient. Food was good. We were happy to have been seated towards the rear of the restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by Guildhall. We were invited by some friends that live on the North Shore and when I looked at the menu online I thought it would be awful; a place that's trying to do too many things to please too many palates (sushi and pizza on the same menu?). Plus I'm an admitted snob when it comes to restaurants in the 'burbs! But despite my misgivings I have to admit that the atmosphere was nice, the service was excellent and the food was decent, even the sushi. I wouldn't make a trip from the city especially to eat here but I would return if it meant spending a nice evening with friends who live on the North Shore. read more

big family brunch here the other day. convenient to Metra. what a nice good looking space. full table of three generations getting together is a wonderful experience and Guildhall made sure we enjoyed it. huge table up front, attentive waitstaff, tasty food. Nickle and Dimed. Not happy. I ordered a ($24.00) hamburger and asked if I could substitute a vegetable for fries. Our server showed me the menu and indicated these vegetables were available. I chose brocollini. When the meal was served, the brocollini was highly charred and not appetizing. We were going to the theatre so I decided not to complain. When the check arrived it had a $5.00 charge for the nearly inedible broccoli. It was getting close to theatre time so I just paid the $5 . My wife's bowl of pasta was served without any bread. Another cheap shot! The dinner bill with tip for two of us with tip was over $140. (Including one drink and one beer) I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. read more

Plenty of seats outside, but host directed us indoors without asking if we had a preference. We got our drinks right away but it took quite some time for the server to return to take our order and then a considerable amount of time to receive our meal without any notice or offer of drink refill. It was extremely noisy, lots of flies buzzing about. It was hard to have a conversation so we sat quietly watching and enjoying the families carryon. read more

We hosted a bridal shower in their back room and everything was excellent. The food served, the service from the staff, and location were all amazing. The staff offered numerous times to accommodate for our decorations, help us setup or carry the boxes of decor, and more. We got avocado toast with crispy kale and heirloom tomatoes which was so fresh and flavorful. We also got a summer chopped salad which was so light and delicious. Not pictured was the egg frittata we had which was also delicious and their home fries which may have been the biggest hit with how crispy and well-seasoned they were. This restaurant was more than I expected. My Mom was able to get a reservation for Saturday evening inside since the outside was completely booked up. We started out with the mussels which was accompanied by an olive oil garlic infused pesto with onions. It was delicious. Then we split the mushroom pizza which was so flavorful topped with fresh Parmesan and arugula. Rob tried the burger topped with Havarti cheese accompanied by homemade French fries. The food did not disappoint. The staff was excellent re filling my water and taking away my empty plates. We also split the chocolate Grenache cake with a biscuit cookie crust. Everything was delicious. Compliments to their Chef!! The atmosphere inside was busy and very noisy, but I think that's because of the time we were dining there. The rating is just for this hassle. They are still a fabulous place to eat. Be forewarned. If you reserve online you get charged $60 "deposit".. They say it will be applied to the check. It wasn't. Plus they tack on a $2+ fee on the deposit which they don't tell you about. They were very prompt in getting back to me when I contacted them about this. They got it cleared up but it was still a hassle. You expect a seamless experience and when it's not it sort of ruins your whole memory of the meal. I'll still go back but won't use their online reservations, I'll do it the old fashioned way. Call them and leave a message. read more

I had a great dinner here! I believe they have a rotating guest chef/additional menu and we had some incredible sushi. The Guildhall truffle fries were a major hit for the table as well. Poor experience last night. Got there and table wasn't ready, despite placing their $31 reservation deposit down....waited 5 minutes. Took awhile for our waitress to come and bring us drinks. We ended up doing a toast and "cheers", with water, but the busboy tried to fill up our water during it. 0 awareness whatsoever.... They have 2 kitchens - American and Japanese. Half of my party ordered off the American inspired menu, and the other half, the Japanese. The Japanese entrees came out 25 minutes before the American entrees. Total lack of communication in the restaurant. All entrees for the table should come out at the same time! Two kitchens should not mean 2 meal times for your table. When we asked our waitress about why some food came out so early and turned cold (as it completely ruined our night), she just asked if we wanted more waters....completely avoided the question. The chef found out about this incident and brought us a free dessert. Well, did not make up for this. Disappointing all around, considering how popular this restaurant is. What a beautiful day to be out and about. Headed up to Glencoe for the Art Fair and decided to grab brunch before walking about. We walked Vernon Ave and Guildhall had plenty of seating both inside and outdoors. The outdoor setup was lovely and made really nice and private with boxwoods adorning the perimeter, no prying eyes as people mosey past. We were seated right away by a manager. Water came quickly as we perused the menu. We arrived at 1115 and it was not too busy, maybe 40% filled. Then we waited. Waited some more. And yet again we waited. It took over 10 minutes to get a drink order in, and it was taken by the manager, John, who sat us. I ordered the Smoky Margarita. Now that was a well put together drink. It was amazing. I could have had a couple more, but didn't want to overdo it early on a Sunday. Coffee and tea also came to the table. John then took our order as the server appeared. He gave it to her as he walked with her away from the table. As we enjoyed the beverages and conversation our brunch arrived within 10 minutes. So that was a plus. The food was exquisite. I ordered simple lox and bagel. Let me tell you that the lox was some of the freshest that I have had and the plate was adorned nicely. Guildhall took the time to pickle the red onion, nice touch crew. The tomato was delicious as were the crisp slices of English cucumber. The chive butter was really good, fantastic actually and it paired well with my pumpernickel bagel which was lightly toasted. So many small things went into the plate, and it was just enough. My date had the Eggs Benedict. A really unique twist with prosciutto. The eggs were perfectly poached and served on toasted sourdough. I like that instead of the usual English muffin. We also had a side of pork sausage links. There was a hint of a spice that I couldn't put my tastebuds to, but it was delish!! Coffee was refilled when necessary, I ran out of cream and another was brought quickly. The interior reminds you of an older walk up flat with some exposed pipes and wooden floors. Had it not been for John, I would have only given it three stars. The food and beverage was perfect. It was the lack of service by the "server" that was lacking. Fresh cut turkey sandwich with either home made chips or fries were very good. I had the BLT on pita was excellent, request for crispy bacon, perfect. I have been to Guildhall many times. Last night was the worst experience I have ever had there. One person in our party of 4 ordered dinner off the sushi menu. Her dinner did not arrive at the table until everyone else had finished eating and the dishes had been cleared. When we spoke to the manager about us, she was unconcerned and told us that the sushi was made in a separate kitchen and oh well, too bad for us. Unacceptable. This was our 2nd year coming for restaurant week; it's a good menu for vegetarian/pescatarians as it offers enough of those options that my husband and I can each try something different. This year's restaurant menu was the exact same as last year's; I knew that going in and, like I said, they are good options but I hope they try something new next year. We felt the same about the food this year as we did last year (see last year's review). However, this year I was more impressed with the space. I had never wandered beyond my seat at front of house. Today I did and was very impressed with the decor and especially the small private room. As with last year, our server was great! Great spot to come for appetizers, lunch, dinner, private events inside and outside. The decoration on the inside is gorgeous, it makes you feel comfortable and transports you to a different place. The food is great! Really good options for food, lots of great menu items, love their pizza, fries, salads, soups, appetizers and cookie with ice cream! We were greeted at the front and seated quickly, Pepe took great care of us with his friendly and welcoming demeanor, he made us laugh, it really elevated the experience due to his attentiveness and positivity.
