Then I went to turn on my sprinklers so they would have some water while I waited and found my sprinkler control panel was a mess and resetting it didn't fix the problem. I told On The Spot Sprinkler Repair about this and they recommended I got an inexpensive replacement sprinkler control system from Amazon which then arrived the same day. I told the repair service that I was now in a bit of a rush since I went from maintenance needs to a completely broken system, and they squeezed me in the next day which was EXTREMELY nice of them! Oh, and it turns out that my sprinklers were fine after the winter, I just had a busted control system -- perhaps from an electrical surge so I am now protecting the system with a UPS/surge protector setup. (I had an old UPS that I was going to throw away but it had plenty of juice left in it for such a little control system.) All communications with them were very fast and professional and On The Spot Sprinkler Repair was very knowledgeable which is not always the case with repair people.

He determined that several heads were cracked, leaking or just needed replacement. He gave me the price and went ahead and replaced all the heads that needed it. Sprinker systems should be checked regularly. The heads get wrecked and you can waste a lot of water if you don't pay attention. I had been using another firm, the most highly rated service here--and they would come annually for ten minutes to "check the irrigation system" and give me almost no feedback but charge me a lot. Bluebird was very different--you could tell they knew what they were talking about, cared about irrigation systems, and wanted to help me do what I wanted. Bluebird was professional and organized and came and left when they said they would. My system is 12 years old and has had some less than satisfactory hacks--and it needed work. Bluebird wasn't cheap but they were upfront about everything, presented estimates for the needed work in stages so I could fit the work to my budget--and explained clearly what they were doing and why. They also made some changes at the end for free when the water wasn't quite doing what I wanted done. I will hire them for yearly evaluations and call them if I need additional work. I highly recommend them.
