Ugh, we used them as a last resort for a dishwasher issue. They were the only place able to visit us the next day, but it took weeks for a resolution due to a issue ordering the part and not letting their workers exchange work they originally responded to. Gary was pleasant. He knew his stuff and diagnosed our issue quickly even though he said it was an unusual part that needed to be replaced. He was optimistic the part would come in sometime the following week. But when I called to get that next appointment scheduled, the receptionist noticed that the first attempt at ordering the part didn't work, so it needed to be ordered from another place that wouldn't have it for another week. On top of that, Gary was going to be on vacation for a week, and they have a policy of not exchanging jobs. So it meant an extra 2.5 weeks to get the piece fixed. I wish there had been better communication throughout the process, and as a customer, the policy not to be able to have someone else install the part was extremely inconvenient. read more

Have used Able & Ready (now Ready & Able) three times for washer, dryer, and refrigerator, over about 8-10 years. Always got good service, problem correctly fixed each time. Gary is able to correctly diagnose issues and get the parts needed to fix it. Latest issue was a problem that Gary was able to diagnose and advise me on how to resolve on my own, Unfortunately, a part got broken during or following an attempt to repair by a different company. Had to call Gary and he ordered the part, instlalled and tested. Lots of experience, agile brain, no mistakes. Best repair service found so far. read more

Repair tech was very dirty worker, left all old parts, and trash for me to clean up and broke water faucet in the process of repair. He said he was not allowed to remove the broken parts. Able and Ready was sent by Sears. On my initial appointment I have arranged to have someone in the house, then got a called from receptionist that they couldn't make it the last minute. After rescheduling, the technician checked the washer and was able to diagnosed the problem. Prior to the appointment I told the technician that my dryer has a clanking noise, probably due to coins stuck in the dryer. He told me he had fixed it. The following day I realized the issue with the dryer wasn't fixed. I called the company and was asked to send a video of the noise. At first the technician said that there were clothes inside the dryer, hence making noises. So they've asked to send another video (open the dryer and close) then the noise was clearly there. They've scheduled another day to comeback, after waiting 4 hours the technician never called and didn't show up. Today, he called and said that he can come the same day and he had an emergency the day before. Waited another 3 hours only to be told after 2 minutes that the problem is "insignificant and it's just wear and tear! ", like that his favorite words. Able & Ready was sent to me through PC Richards. Let me just say, very unprofessional, they have been here 3 or 4 times for our fridge with no improvement. They cancelled on us last minute two other times. They seem to not know what they are doing. Our tech called out to two different people in order to get an idea of what may be wrong with our fridge and how to fix it. Avoid at all costs. Horrible customer service. After waiting for them a week and a half to come back and replace the broken part, it turns out the tech came in and diagnosed the incorrect part on my fridge. He replaced something that was not broken. I had to call another company to come in and check it again. The tech came in and diagnosed the problem right away and replaced the part onsite. No wonder they only take cash or check, so that you can't dispute the charge if it were on a credit card. I have a p c Richard contact on my stove I was advised to get one and did. I called pc Richard and I was assigned ready and able. The technician Gary showed up on time he was courteous polite and thoroughly looked over r the situation. He did all the diagnostic work figured the problem out and advised me because it was a contract account it would need too be approved and the parts would be a week or so Fine. I got a washer and dryer stack for my condo and it is 8 yrs old and suddenly it leaked water everywhere the Abel and Ready had a sticker on the machine they had helped install it (put the correct vent in) so I called at 8:05 talked at 1:30 Gary showed up after making sure I was home and Fixed my problem!! My Blue Star Oven which wasn't even 2 years old stopped working. Called Blue Star and they suggested I call Able and Ready or Ready and Able. Spoke to Debbie, explained ad she was truly concerned, polite and nice. She said to give her a few minutes and she would call me back. About 15 mins. later Debbie called back and had someone coming to my home to see what the problem was. Well within 10 minutes Gary was at my door and with the other 10 mins. Gary found the problem. He called at 8:00 pm that same night and said he ordered the part and would be back on Monday or Tuesday. Monday came, Gary called and came back to my home. About 15 mins. later my oven was fixed. I called this company to repair my dishwasher. It was very hard to schedule an appointment. They no showed one time after I had waited around all day. Gary came and took a $400 deposit "for parts" Then, he came back a second time (where I had to wait home all day as well) and said there was still some parts missing. They have my money. I have not heard from them since. My dishwasher has been broken for a month. These people are dishonest. If I don't get my money back I am going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Able & Ready comes to your house to repair appliances - charge a $80 "estimate fee" and in my case, decided that my Kitchenaid refrigerator needed a new water valve for the ice maker which wasn't working. Of course they didn't have it and had to order it. They scheduled an appointment for several days later between 8AM and 12 PM, and promised to call that morning to narrow down the window when they'd appear. At 8:55 AM they called to say they'd be there between 9 and 12. In fact they showed at 2:30 PM. The tech seemed competent, put in the new valve, charged a total of $241 for the part and labor and said it would be making ice within 24 hours. It didn't. No ice. I called back and they said they couldn't come back for four days -promised that they'd show up Friday between 12 noon and 3 PM. At 2:55 PM I called to ask where they were. They said they "thought" the tech was on the way, and that if he hadn't arrived by 4 PM I should call back. What they didn't tell me is that 4 PM they close. My call was routed to a voicemail box that was full. They never showed up. They never called. And they don't work weekends. Avoid these jerks at all cost. And if Kitchenaid recommends them to you, tell them they're unreliable and you want someone else. read more

Everyone re-arranged their plans to be available so they forced everyone to do this for nothing. When they did come, the worker was rude and incompetent. Scheduled for later where he promptly parked his car in the middle of the driveway making sure no one could use the road, I guess he wanted to showcase his Red car. Came in and looked at my fridge for 30 seconds before declaring there is nothing wrong with it. Then when I tried to explain the problem, he immediately interrupted with a full facial expression of disbelief - eyes wide open, jaw hanging, head twisting back and forth - as if I wanted to take a day off work so I could waste his time. He must have practiced this expression in front of the mirror many times as I could not imagine the effort required to coordinate so many muscles. Not only was he not interested in listening, he was ready for combat. Shame on Sears for contracting with this guy. My experience with this company was abominable. I had an appointment scheduled to have an oven part replaced and my first visit was cancelled by the company the morning of (after i had stayed home from work for the appt). I called and scheduled a second appt for a weekend day and that day came and went without a call or anyone showing up. When I scheduled a 3rd appt I asked to speak to a manager about a discounted rate for the visit considering the previous problems and never heard back from anyone despite two calls to their office the week before the 3rd scheduled appt. I'd like to be able to tell you all about how they performed their repair services, but I couldn't even get to that point. I called on a Monday and they didn't have any time until the following Tuesday - 8 days. However, I got a voice mail at 7.30am on Friday after 4 days that said that they were coming and if I didn't call back I'd lose my slot. I called immediately, they told me that the repairman was coming between 11-2. Well, at 2.30 I called as nobody had shown up. They assured me that he was behind and that they'd call me back to update me. I never received a call. I figured they were still just going to keep my Tuesday appointment. Well, on Monday, they called and said they were coming on Monday. I waited and waited. I called and asked for an update. They said they'd call the technician and call me back. I never received a call. On Tuesday, the date of the original appointment, I heard nothing. On Thursday, 2 days after the original appointment, they called to tell me that someone was coming to my house. Not only was I not prepared to receive anyone, but I was completely fed up and had no faith. read more

As with other posters, I am sorry there is not a '0' Star option here. The company is unprofessional and rude. In fairness, I will say that the two service techs who came to my house were nice. Beyond that, they were not dressed in any service uniform (t-shirt with a sticker), they came a bit early and refused to wait 5 minutes for me to get back home (though they came back when I called again from home and they were still nearby). BUT, the worst thing -- the two service technicians came to my house driving a ford mustang....needless to say, they don't carry ANY parts in the little trunk of the mustang, so don't expect to get ANYTHING fixed during the first visit. The office, in further discussions, were rude and obnoxious, hung up on me at least twice, and refused to let me speak with the owner and discuss the issue I was having. When a customer politely requests to speak with the Manager/Owner (Gary), who was there and available because they kept putting me on hold to check with him, it is just so discourteous and rude to refuse -- "that's why he has an office staff, to speak with customers like you" -- he simply refused to have a brief conversation with a CUSTOMER. I find this absurd! Find a company that is professional, courteous, and sends technicians in service vans with at least a basic supply of parts, "ABLE & READY" to repair an appliance, so as not to delay repairs by an additional week while parts are ordered and ANOTHER service call scheduled. read more

They called the morning of the appointment to confirm I would be here and that as a reult they would be coming within a three-hour window, I confirmed I would be here. The window came and went and no one showed. When i called to ask why non one had shown up, they said they had tried to call and reconfirm the appt. While it is true there was a local area phone outage, why re-confirm again after we had confrimed that same morning only 2 hours earlier? And if there was no answer, why not just hop out of the truck and ring the bell to see that I was home AS AGREED? When I asked to speak to the supervisor, they said she would call me back in 15 minutes. No call. My personal experience was that they do not care at all about their customers. We ordered a simple refrigerator part about two months ago, and two months and dozens of calls/complaints later, no part has been delivered and no service provided. Every call is met with the same line: "we're working on it, should be here in XX days." It's all lies. My next step is a call to the Better Business Bureau because this operation should cease to exist and be closed down for good so other consumers can avoid the disappointment, lack of service and all around hassle I have experienced. I give 1 star and that is because there is no option to give them 0 stars. My experience with Able & Ready Appliances has been nothing but very problematic. Every time I get a time frame the technician Gary shows up early and if no one is home, then he will move on to the next appt. which is very unfair for my tenants who change their whole schedule waiting for them for this problem that has been going on for over 3 months. 1st time they went, they did nothing, 2nd time showed up early and gave the super an attitude over the phone 3rd time they said it was fixed, 4th time it needed a part, 5th time technician showed up early & had to re-schedule and there was NOTHING they could do to accommodate a client even though this problem had been going on for quite some time already. Now I'm getting angry tenants and its because this company is NOT professional at all. p.s. This is not the only property they have been to. There are other ones where I had the same problem with. The receptionist is rude and unprofessional and was argumentative when they were in the wrong for not showing up to an appointment. After 4 tried attempts of having them fix our stove, under warranty, we decided to buy the part ourselves. Able & Ready is the most unscrupulous appliance company in Westchester. They sent the owner, Gary Carriero, Sr., to diagnose and repair my dryer. Mr. Carriero barely diagnosed the problem before he recommended replacing some expensive parts. He used my computer to determine if the parts were available online. After he left, I reviewed my search history and found that the parts he claimed required replacement were not the same as the ones he was looking for online, and that he quoted a grossly exaggerated price for these parts. I called Action Appliance and they came the next day and repaired the dryer without any of the parts designated by Able & Ready. In fact, the manager of Able & Ready, in acknowledging the dishonesty of its owner, offered to refund the money I paid for the service call. Needless to say, Able & Ready did not make good on their refund. Beware - this business is unprofessional and dishonest. read more

Do not use this company under any circumstances. We have had to use them to repair a two-year old washing machine that needed a new drum and was under warrantee--they are the company Electrolux uses in this area. They diagnosed the problem and then It took them ONE MONTH to fix the machine. Somehow the parts were never ordered. Shortly after they finally repaired the machine, it leaked all over the basement. I called to have them come back; however, the technician never called or showed up. I called again and he "fixed" the problem, but now the machine is making a loud noise during the spin section which was the original issue. I called to have them come back (since their labor is under warrantee) and again they did not call or come. I just called again, and they say they are coming, but I have no faith. This is the worst service I have ever had from a repair company. Unfortunately I have no option because Electrolux uses them. read more
