All of my questions were expertly answered, and each step in diagnosis was perspicuously detailed. Informed by years of experience, Ijjumaa's chain of deduction and reasoning flows effortlessly. By the time he reached his conclusion, I felt no surprise and had a pretty good idea of the range of costs i faced. After clarifying my choices, he explained avenues for resolution and their practical (part options, time and logistics) and financial ramifications. He suspected that the $150 part (plus labor) was malfunctioning temporarily, having been frozen. Where Dockery's might have charged me for a part that was not working before removing it, they chose to invest in my trust by reinstalling the part and recommending a procedure to follow after he had left and the fridge had completed it's defrost cycle. read more

Jumo came for a service call today . I called on Saturday and first thing Monday morning he was at my door. Long story short, it ended up being my airconditioner/heat that was leaking and not my washing machine. Juno was very honest to tell me it was not my washing machine that was the problem, even though I was prepared to replace the washing machine pump. Not only did he NOT rip me off for a washing machine repair, he went above and beyond to temporarily fix my problem. He was on time, reliable and honest and I would highly recommend him !! Genesis 3:19 says: "By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food" I can confirm that they indeed earn their money by the sweat of their brow . Superb service , friendly advices and a lot cheaper than what Kitchen Aid quoted me . In my case, during multiple session of troubleshooting , my parts & labour cost me $346 almost as much as a brand new dishwasher but the services & quality of work I received was superb . Hopefully I will need a technician again & I will strongly consider buying new but if I ever will need a repair they will be the first one to call . read more

I thought my washer needed repair because my clothes felt cold at the end of the rinse cycle, even when I set it on warm. Dockery's was able to send someone the day I called, a very competent, determined young man named Juma (the owner's son). He politely informed me that all rinse cycles use cold water to avoid mold, mildew & lint (confirmed by Google). After extensive testing, he also advised me that I didn't need any new parts or repair. (As an aside, I was advised by another repair company, after charging $100 diagnostic charge, that I needed both hot & cold water values replaced, for an add'l $350; I had a gut feeling of distrust from them, the reason I then contacted Dockery's.) Don't even know where to start with this place. I would give them zero stars if I could. I called them and described the issue with my stove, no model or serial number was taken. I was informed they would have to send a technician over and I would be charged a fee. Tech arrived and was probably in my kitchen for not more then 5 minutes and was "upset" because he could have avoided the whole trip if the person who I spoke to make the appointment would have taken the model number down. Tech took a picture of the model and serial number and charged me their fee and told me he would call me with an estimate of the how much the job would cost. A week went by and I called them to follow up and they told me that the tech couldn't find the photo he took if I can provide them with the info?!!! Really?!?! I ended up trying another company from Throggs Neck who was able to give me an estimate over the phone and instructed me that was best for me to just buy a new stove. Which I did. read more

Fantastic service. I called around 8:30am because our dryer was no longer heating. They were at the house before 11am, quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it by 11:30am. There is a $75 service charge, but if you end up needed a repair, it goes toward it. They were able to fix our dryer for about $175. Friendly service from everybody I spoke with and they called with updates along the way while I was waiting. Will definitely call them again. read more

My pricey fridge died on me twice this year, then came back to life all by itself each time -- but only after I had to toss literally hundreds of dollars worth of food. Juma, a member of this family-owned business, came out and restored the fridge to life. More importantly, he identified the problem and explained to me why it had occurred.
