The earliest I could schedule an appt was 4 months in the future. I had to pay $100+ to secure said appt. I come to my appt 4 months later and right as I walk in the door they tell me Dr. Roberts isn't even at the office. They do not know when she is coming in either. They said they could try to fit me in around 1pm with the other doctor when my appt was at 10:45. It's pouring rain outside and I had to park blocks away since they do not validate parking in their garage. After paying for parking, arriving soaking wet through the rain, they almost told me I couldn't wait for the Dr. in the waiting room. I asked for a chair to sit outside in the hallway and they obliged my request to sit in the waiting room. This means my $100+ deposit to secure my appt is a loss for me and gain for them, and it makes me wonder if this is happens to others. I asked the front desk lady about what they plan on doing about the money I had already paid or if my visit today will be discounted based on the issues and she shrugged her shoulders in response. I chose Dr. Heather Roberts based on the reviews I've read, but unfortunately I was not one of the ones who received that treatment. I understand emergencies may happen, but the office should've been more professional and proactive phoning those with appts hours before their time. Especially those who have been booked for months. I cannot justify paying full price for a visit that's already cost me a great deal of money, but most of all time I cannot get back. Word of advice: CALL the office before you drive to your appt to make sure the doctor is there- because the office will not call you in time. read more

I don't know why it's so difficult to find a smart and thorough dermatologist who also has a warm and helpful staff but it really is. In fact, just writing that combination of words makes me wryly laugh since it's close to impossible. Sounds like a fairy tale right? Made up. Like go find a four leaf clover and make sure it's purple. Prior to my visit I would have told you that it is indeed equally impossible to find such a doctor as finding this four leaf clover. "So," old me would have said, "go stuff your expectations for this dermatologist into Elon's SpaceX rocket since there's no place for them here." In other words - give up (especially on the Westside). However, and I say this rarely, I was wrong! There is one person out there who justifies and surpasses those expectations. Dr. Roberts is the happy ending to my quest for a dermatologist who is trustworthy, intelligent, thorough, up-to-date, and experienced, with a lovely bedside manner. But on top of that her staff is unbelievable - my paperwork wouldn't come through and Patricia was so helpful, and shockingly patient (I would have gotten tired of me and my emails). During my visit, she and her staff were actually KIND, as in genuinely nice with their interactions, which I had pretty much given up on in the world of westside dermatologists. Her nurse, Brielle (sp?), was sweet to me. Seriously - actually sweet. I know - get back in your chair because you fell out of it. I was able to go through all my concerns and questions. Dr. Roberts actually diagnosed me and prescribed medication instead of selling me some multi thousand dollar treatment featured in US Weekly, but this was what put me in a Disney movie ... wait for it ... they offered to bill my insurance to get me a reimbursement since my visit was medical! I literally almost fell over. A dermatologist asking for my insurance card. I was so unprepared, I didn't even have it with me. Truly a shocking experience, due entirely to how pleasant and helpful it was. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Roberts for about 2 months now for 'skin tightening,' I'm getting married in May, and wanted to take a few years off. I had thought about a face life, but couldn't take the down time, plus who knows what you will look like after. I've had Fractora done on my face and sagging neckline. After the initial neck treatment, within 2 days, there was a visible difference. There was also a quick difference when my face was done. I've followed it up with a series of Forma treatments and continue to see progress. Bottom line, it's been a great experience. Dr. Roberts, her staff, make is a pleasurable experience and try to accommodate as they can on scheduling. These types of treatments take 3-6 months for full results, so you do have to plan ahead. I have been a patient of Dr Roberts since 2000. I have received amazing care all these years for a number of different skin issues. I first started seeing her for cystic acne. She helped me find a skin care routine that eradicated them. Over the years, she's handled other cysts, biopsied moles as well as helped me keep my skin looking young and rejuvenated. She treats my husband as well as both of my kids. She is super patient with them as they are still young. I don't understand the negative review on here. Sometimes things happen and a patient has to wait a bit to see a dr, but she is definitely worth the wait. I would trust no other person with my skin or my family's skin. I drove an hour to see her for my chronic adult acne I've had for years. In just one appointment, she was able to do for me what several dermatologists could not. You name it and I've probably tried it...BCP's, daily antibiotics, Retina A, microderm, facials, acupuncture etc. During my first visit she assessed my skin and prescribed an topical medication that actually works! My skin has never looked better!!! I have since been back to her office for chemical peels done by her esthetician, which have helped keep my skin clear in conjunction with the topical acne cream. I've been going to Dr. Roberts for years for an annual skin cancer check, and she's by far the most thorough, knowledgeable dermatologist I've ever known. Years ago, I referred a friend of mine who'd been to see a bunch of different doctors who couldn't figure out what a lesion on her face was, and Dr. Roberts was the first to correctly diagnose it. I recently referred someone else to have Dr. Roberts give a second opinion, and Dr. Roberts had a far more modern, less invasive and pragmatic approach to the issue than the other dermatologist did. I never have to wait very long, and her office staff is friendly. Though she doesn't accept any insurance, I do find her pricing to be fair. I have been a patient of Dr. Roberts for about 8 years. My husband is also a patient. We are both very happy with her. We both find her conscientious, knowledgable, smart, kind, timely and thorough. I have had a multitude of different skin issues over the years, including rosacea, skin infections, discoloration, rashes, skin irritations, and mole removal/biopsies. Dr. Roberts has treated every one of these conditions successfully. My skin has never looked better. In fact, I get compliments on how good my skin looks. I credit that to Dr. Roberts, and to me, for following her recommendations. Dr. Roberts is very up to date with respect to skin care and products. She is extremely knowledgable and does not do things she does not believe works. She is a quick diagnostician and knows exactly what is going on with my skin as soon as she checks me out. I am grateful that Dr. Roberts carries skin care products that she researches and she and her staff, uses. Her skin looks great and I often request to use what she is using. I am often overwhelmed and seduced by the plethora of choices of skin care products in the mainstream market. It is so relieving to me to have someone, who knows my skin, make recommendations, based on the uniqueness of my skin. I use a moisturizer that Dr. Roberts carries. It costs $40 and lasts for 6 months. I love it. The products she carries are reasonable in cost, and are far below the $900 I once spent on YSL after I got seduced by a great salesperson. I am not wed to using expensive products - i use what works. The office staff is helpful and attentive. They are on top of things and always follow up with respect to biopsies, appointments, and any other matter pertaining to my treatments. I have sent several other people to Dr. Roberts, and they have also been very happy. For the record, I have been a patient of Dr. Roberts for twelve years and therefore have history and experience with her, and the office staff, to say that the above mentioned review is way off base. I also have a number of friends who are patients of hers and have never heard anything but raves about her services. I believe the negative review may reflect its writers's impatience and judgmental attitude-- to which I say, "Patient, look in the mirror!" and read this: 1. Dr. Roberts, and every one of her staff, has incredibly beautiful skin!!!!!!!!! 2. The building and elevators had been in the process of being updated and refurbished. 3. Dr. Roberts' staff has always been extremely efficient and kind to me -- I think the attitude of the writer may be the cause of "surly" responses! Dr. Roberts trained initially as an Internal Medicine physician before going back to re-train and intern in Dermatology - thus having a broader medical base and longer training than most other dermatologists. 5. This is probably one of the strangest reviews I have written thus far. I had my own dermatologist cancel an appointment so I contacted Dr. Robert's office asking if I may be seen. The message I left was immediately returned by Juana. Upon speaking with her, I found out that my insurance is not applicable at their office and since I'm not in a financial position to work outside of my insurance, I was unable to book an appointment. However, Juana yet went above and beyond to explain to me in detail what my best options are and how to navigate through the process of finding someone within my network. She even said to feel free to call back should I have any additional questions. Folks, THIS IS WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE is supposed to look like. I already know that Dr. Robert's office is professionally operated and well managed based on this simple interaction alone. Esp w/ scheduling -- double books in 15-min. increments, doesn't honor apointments, keeps you waiting for an hour in the waiting room, then moves you into a patient room for another hour. Wow what an experience! I came over to the west side for a hair removal treatment as Dr Roberts came highly recommended. Her staff confirmed the appointment and they were professional and polite. Sometimes a challenge in LA! This facility is very conveniently located off the 405 freeway and was a breeze to find! The staff was great and OMG the physicians assistant Jen was a master in PAINLESS hair removal! That's right PAINLESS! I've been to many dermatologists and Dr. Roberts is the most meticulous. She uses a dermascope, she measures every potentially suspicious mole and takes meticulous notes. Most other dermatologists I've been to do not measure and document everything, nor have any of them used a dermascope. Highly recommend her. read more
