Our Experience With Dinsmore Auto Group-…read more Holly & Andrew Ball 2020 Jeep Sahara- We purchased a 2020 Jeep Sahara from Dinsmore Auto Group on 3/28/2025, and unfortunately, our experience has been deeply disappointing from the very beginning. We strongly recommend that anyone considering a purchase from this dealership take the time to read customer reviews carefully. What we experienced aligns with many of the unfortunate concerns already shared by others. Same pattern of behavior . We also attempted to address these issues directly with their upper management by emailing the General Manager Austin Dinsmore. That message received no response on any concerns we had with the process from start to finish. Which speaks volumes about the dealership's approach to customer concerns and post‑sale accountability. Our in‑person interactions with staff reflected the same pattern: dismissive communication, a lack of basic customer service, and no willingness to engage in respectful, solution‑oriented dialogue. Outside of Jesse in the service department all other interaction had from sales, finance department and direct service manager was aggressive and lacked basic customer service standards. Key Issues We Encountered- 1.Major mechanical failure within 48 hours of purchase. The Jeep developed a significant engine issue almost immediately, despite being driven for less than four total hours since purchase. Dual head gasket replacement upper oil pan reseal. Auxiliary and main battery replacement. 2.Dismissive communication. Our concerns were treated as an inconvenience rather than a legitimate safety and reliability issue. There was no acknowledgment of how this situation impacted our family. Or options to roll back the loan to put a customer in a reliable, safe vehicle. Not once did anyone individual raise any concerns on our behalf. Would we have been okay with a different vehicle? Would we have been willing to pay more for a more reliable vehicle with no underline mechanical issues which caused the vehicle to significantly depreciate. 3.Lack of transparency about repairs. The initial repair was completed without any explanation of what failed, what was repaired before being signed off on by the customer, or whether OEM parts were used. They treated the vehicle as though it was held hostage and still theirs. 4.No post‑repair guidance. After a dual head‑gasket replacement--a major engine repair--no one provided follow‑up instructions or information about what to expect. 5 A second repair was needed due to poor attention to detail. The vehicle threw new codes within 24 hours of being returned to us, requiring another service appointment. They were specifically asked to not do any repairs until we were informed and signed off on them. They ignored this request and made so called repairs. 6.Inconsistent and inaccurate communication. Different staff members gave conflicting information throughout the process. 7.Attempt to limit our consumer rights. When we raised concerns in writing, the dealership asked us to sign a "Goodwill Service" agreement that would have limited their liability and restricted our rights under Washington State's Implied Warranty of Merchantability. This felt less like support and more like an attempt to silence legitimate concerns. This was done after the fact. When the vehicle was retrieved on the so called second repair. And backed dated to the initial mechanical failure less then 48 hours after the purchase. 8. When the customer's refused to sign this last minute attempt to silence them under significant distress. We were told no further repairs or concerns would be addressed on their behalf . Mind you they back their so called repairs with a 12,000 mile 12 month policy which they could not provide us with or clearly articulate where that was at . Or simply put that in writing on the " GOODWILL AGREEMENT " which they wish for us to sign with no recourse. We hope our experience sheds some light for future customers.

He made sure that he showed me cars within my budget that fit the needs of my family. He even continued to put in work after I made my purchase. Awful customer service once you sign the papers. Actually as you sign the papers (it's digital) the finance woman had me create an account with password on her giant desk-sized keyboard. I figured it was something I would need to access in the future so chose a familiar password. I wish I hadn't because the woman watched my every keystroke like a hawk (can't be discrete on a desk-sized keyboard). I immediately assumed she was watching to ensure my password met the requirements but after a couple seconds it dawned on me she now has the password to my bank login and more...and I had just handed her every bit of person information needed for security checks, short of my thumbprint. Instead of email or print your documents they email you a password secure file. Well I wasn't able to open said zip file to access my necessary documents for registration and tax purposes a few days later. I tried calling. No response. I left a voicemail. No response. I was referred to an email after calling multiple times. No response. It took weeks (no exaggeration, granted I wasn't trying every day) to finally get in touch with someone who got back to me only to insist I go through the financing woman that processed my sale...which is where I started. It was finally through the text notifying my license plates had come in, where I was able to speak to someone that could get me some but not all of my document copies of the sale (was requesting only 2 pertinent documents) I can't imagine if I had to go through this place for actual servicing of my vehicle etc. never want to deal with them again.

We drove over there to inspect and inquire about the truck, since the salesman at the Puyallup location was not helpful and just said if we wanted anything to go over there. The salesman at the Lakewood location was a young kid I think his name was Mehmet or Moe, sweet kid and helpful. My problem with this place is the truck we were interested in had a sensor issue and they were working to fix it. Totally understandable and we were appreciative of them disclosing this. The truck was a good deal so we proceeded to put a down payment down as they said the car should be fixed in the next few days. Unforeseen circumstances occurred as the new sensor was not calibrating and they could not get the ABS sensor to reset, and needed to get a new one. This process started on 5/19/26 we soon ran into Memorial Day wknd, and basically had little to no communication or updates on the status of the repairs. Keep in mind my bank had issued a check to the company to purchase the truck based on the "few days to fix". We also still have not even test drove the vehicle and decided to proceed with purchasing the vehicle. I know this is already a long story but we finally get the truck. Getting the license plates and registration another long drawn out lie and process. I have purchased several vehicles and it has never taken longer than 20 days to get my plates and registration. With Memorial Day that following wk we picked up the truck. It is mid July and after calling both dealerships, going in person to the dealership I was told it can take up to 30-45 days to get and they will call when they come in. This was just more drag by these people, I go in today to get the plates because the temp tags expired on the 7/12. They literally don't know anything about it I'm waiting for 10min and one the sales guys is like "oh the DOL is just waiting for one piece of paper can you wait and I'll run down there real quick." At this point t I'm beyond livid...I did finally get the tabs and I had to ask about my overpayment for the tabs..which they wrote a check out on the spot and gave...but this entire sales process was the worse! Buying a car is a big deal as it is a big purchase these people made me feel like I was wasting their time and they just wanted my money without even providing decent communication and expectations.
