I think it's disgusting that they took clients' money who had pre-paid for packages when they permanently closed. They initially said we could finish our pre-paid treatment with another location, but then they took away that option and offered no reimbursement for unused services. i got an email from the payment processor from this place implying that they might be trying to open it up again-- do NOT trust these people with your money. i bought a package and when the owner decided to dramatically close down without telling any clients late last year, she walked away with about $500 in value of my package and gave me the only option of giving her my contact information (which she should have had) to forward nebulously to another technician who was "between facilities right now" and for whom she could thus not give me direct contact information. ridiculous. i decided she wasn't worth any more tears because she was closing the place down anyway but i can't imagine i'm the only one she scammed this way. i know this place gets a reputation for being somehow better for trans people (not my experience but what else is new) but we're just dollar signs to her. guard your heart and your wallet, do not visit here. read more

I have been a client of About Face for many years. When I first started going to Vickie, I told her I am hairy like a monkey, she would be very kind and just say furry. After 5-6 treatments of various areas...I am hair free now for over 7 years. I wish I would have done this sooner and saved myself a lot of embarrassment of my hairy self! :) Vickie is very professional as well as all of her staff. I am very comfortable while there. I purchased a Groupon for a laser procedure on the face and neck. When I called to schedule the appointment, I was told to first come for a consultation, then the procedure would be scheduled. Scheduling the consultation was difficult, in part because I travel fairly frequently and in part because the ONE person who does the consultations is only in on certain days of the week from 9-4 - not at all convenient for working people. (BTW, I can't imagine why a business would issue a Groupon then limit their ability to bring clients in the door by having such narrow bandwidth.) Anyway, the consultation was perfunctory at best and at that point the merchant didn't have any appointments for the procedure that worked with my schedule. Furthermore, there were no appointments available at all for the following month so I walked away without scheduling the procedure. After waiting a few weeks to hear back on a date that I could come in for the procedure, the merchant called to tell me that they had ONE DAY during that month that the procedure could be done. I had my pick of times, but only on that one day which as it happens doesn't work for me. Again, hard to understand why you'd try to drum up business then limit availability of delivering service. I have been going to About Face for a few months now and I absolutely love the services provided and the staff. The atmosphere is very welcoming and what you would like to see when having lasers removing hair from your body. I have been getting electrolysis on my upper lip and chin areas and the results are amazing. Vicky does so much to ensure patient comfort and ensures the patient is informed. I bought the package of 6 treatments from Groupon it seemed like a good deal but you get what you pay for I had 5 of the 6 treatment underarm with Vickie ( who I will discover later that she's the owner so bear with me ) she just does like maybe 3 strokes with the laser and be done in less than 2 minutes , that been said she doesn't get all the hair so I see poor to no results ( I did Laser treatments in a different place before & I know that they move the probe on every single spot to hit all the hairs) on my last appointment she wasn't there so her student technician Kathy did the session & oh boy she did a marvelous thorough job getting every single hair in there that's when I thanked her about her precision she told me she's told so a lot & as a compensation for not seeing results with Vicky she offered me a free treatment when I went to the free treatment I found out that Kathy is fired & Vicky basically YELLED that she knows what she's doing,Saying STOP I know what I'm doing & that Kathy is just doing the session slowly (REALLY) !! of course she wouldn't honor the free treatment & offered to dispute my case to the doctor in another appointment only to discover from the receptionist that she is the Owner & the doctor basically work for her I was going there with the intention of paying a gratitude to Kathy & buying another package if only she would be my technician for all treatments ( so money is not my issue , quality & courteousness is But after dealing with this unprofessional owner with bad customer service & bad attitude Plus doing poor job she lost me as a customer also I would never recommend her business worst encounter ever........ read more

This place is totally horrible. I had a chemical peel, probably my twentieth or so. My entire appointment from start to finish was 15 minutes. She did not prep the area and did not even have my remove my sweater. The room is actually a modified closet with bright lights in your eyes. She got the peel liquid in my eye and all over my clothes. She spent more time trying to sell me on a series package for facial-NEVER. She did not do any post-care and my skin burned for DAYS and I had to go to the derm. I would NEVER EVER suggest going here. read more

I arrived on time for my appointment and had to wait over 20 minutes just to check in (the receptionist was nowhere to be seen) and another 20 minutes to be seen. I had a gut feeling that I should just walk out because I was so annoyed at having to wait almost 40 minutes and I really wish I would have heeded that gut feeling and left. I went in for an electrolysis appointment. The electrologist was horrible and obviously inexperienced and unskilled. I had to point out areas that she missed multiple times. I was also left with far too many deep scabs that took weeks to heal. In sum, save your money and spare your skin by going somewhere other than About Face! read more

I purchased a Groupon in April. I have had 2 laser treatments and 4 electrolysis treatments. I am so happy with the results! I have had previous electrolysis treatments, several months worth, at 2 other businesses and the problem seemed to get worse. I was not educated on skin care or dos and donts to aid in the treatments. I have not had to wait when I schedule an appointment . The procedures have been quick, 10-20 minutes, and painless. I see Vickie for electrolysis and laser hair removal. She has been wonderful and set me at ease when I first started and was nervous. Vickie clearly explained the procedures and time it takes to get complete hair removal. It has been easy to make the appointments - I usually make my next appointment before I leave. I did have to see the doctor for a consultation before starting the laser treatment to make sure I was a suitable candidate. If I had known how easy this would be, I would have done this years earlier. read more

I scheduled an appointment online after booking a groupon. Then I was called to be told I must consult first then I can actually schedule a laser hair removal session. (I have had laser removal before, where they do the consultation and immediately treat after). She then told me that I have to see the doctor first. He is in TWO DAYS TOTAL for the month of January. 9am-4pm. TWO DAYS. both Thursday's. I am off work Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, giving me 2 week days to schedule AT ANY TIME. I would never go to this place again even if they paid me. I spent over 1,200$ and a year of my time in order to do laser hair removal on my arms and even after 7 treatments the hair is all growing back with only a slight improvement. I have now been forced to go somewhere else and spend every more more in order to get this problem taken care of. Vickey never showed any compassion and instead blamed my genetics for the lack of progress although initially she told me I was the perfect candidate for laser hair removal (I have light skin and very dark hair). When I would visit her office she was always rude and very short with me and each time I commented that I saw no progress she said to just give it time. She was extremely careless and always in a rush, usually finishing full arm treatments in less then 10 minutes. If you actually want laser hair removal that works, don't even consider going to About Face. read more
