The orthopedic surgeon doing my medical consultation was not able to answer my questions about the risks or lazer. I however proceeded and returned for my visit with Cindy. I asked her if my hair would be thinner after 6 visits and she then suggested that I have PCOS. I didn't agree and she then offered her medical opinion stating that a negative hormone test or the absence of polycystic ovaries was not a good indication and that most physicians misdiagnose. I was baffled but just wanted to get my laser treatment. She told me she didn't need my business and dismissed me because I was 'difficult' for not accepting her medical advice. She's not even a doctor ... I just wanted to get my treatments and figure out about how many most ppl need. She is very weird and shady. read more

This review is long overdue. I've been going to Cindy since I was 14 years old (for electrolysis), even before she expanded her practice to Laser hair removal (then I started laser with her). I am very happy and grateful to her for the results I got... There are no surprises with her, you know exactly what you're getting into at your consultation, she has a lot of experience, so she knows what she's doing, and most importantly she has good equipment. Yes laser and electrolysis are not pain free, but the results are well worth it, and in honesty it's very bearable, she gave me numbing cream the first couple of times because I was so nervous, but I could've done without it. Short Review: Completely unprofessional - feels like you are in a back alley laser treatment center. Appointments are always behind schedule. Long Review: I previously had laser hair removal on my bikini line and always wished I would have done my underarms at the same time. When I saw a Groupon for $199 laser hair removal, I was ecstatic and jumped at the opportunity. When I called the next day for an appointment, my disappointment in Advanced Medical Laser began. The computer system was down so they were going to call me to set up an appointment. When I did not receive a call in several days, I called again. This time, the doctor's schedule was not available. After no call back again, I finally was able to secure an initial appointment. My initial doctor appointment was OK. As I soon learned was par for the course, they were running behind schedule about 15 minutes. After answering several questions, Cindy performed the test area laser treatment and then the doctor approved that I was able to have the treatment. I made my next appointment at this time and was ready to begin my treatment. I showed up for my first and second appointments to find that they did not have it in the schedule; "new software" caused the issue both times. She was able to fit me in about 30 minutes later. The appointment room was OK. I'm sure the treatment table sheet was not changed between clients, besides the fact it looked like something thrown out from my great-grandma's bedroom. The protective glasses she gave me were not cleaned and full of finger prints and sweat. The third appointment, I was in the schedule but instead of starting my appointment on time, I got to watch Cindy eat her lunch and discuss her weekend until she was ready for my procedure 30 minutes past my appointment time. I was the only customer in the office and there should have not been a delay. The treatment was the same unsanitary atmosphere. She also decided to change the laser she was using without asking. I went to this office since they offered the LightSheer laser and did not want another laser. The fourth appointment, it was like I showed up at a new office. There was a receptionist (answering the office cell phone; no land line) and she actually put a new sheet on the treatment bed. They had new software that I could schedule appointments online. My appointment was only 15 minutes behind schedule. It was more of what I expected the office to be like when I started. If this was the atmosphere the entire time, I would have given this office a higher rating. I was still disappointed that she would not use the LightSheer laser though. My fifth appointment ended up being rescheduled by Cindy the week before because she realized she needed to take a class to maintain her certification. When I showed up for this new appointment time, the office was closed. I left two messages following this appointment to reschedule and never heard from the office. I gave up after this. It isn't worth my gas money and effort to deal with this office anymore. My results, well, they aren't as good as my previous laser treatment since I could only have 4 treatments. There is some less growth but not enough for me to consider it worth the payment at this time. Based on my previous treatments, she does not seem to put the laser on a high enough setting to be as effective as possible. Don't just walk away from this office - run! read more

Cindy is the techinician here and she really does care about her clients. Their prices are really competitive, and the decor is awesome. Everything is very clean and bright, and I certainly felt like I was in good hands. This place is growing, and I think the growth may have happened a little too fast for them to handle initially. However, currently things are under control. I want to mention that the day that a Groupon coupon comes out (and the three days after) is definitely not a good time to call and book an appointment, as about 400 other people are trying to do the same thing. What I mean is, that is not reflective of their company on a day-to-day basis. They do have a new system that allows you to book appointments online. I have had three, and they've always been running right on time. Everyone there is cheerful, if maybe a little rushed. The thing about laser is that it really only takes a few minutes, so they book in 15 minute increments. As you might imagine, if the person in front of you is 10 minutes late, that may push all appointments behind by 10 minutes. But its also noteworthy that as far as doctor's offices go, I've never NOT had to wait at least twenty minutes! Overall, I would certainly recommend. read more

Cannot say enough good things about this laser spa! I have had three areas lasered: upper lip, underarms and full bikini. Cindy (the owner and technician) has the best machine I have used so far. I have been to other spas which left me with big red welts and was almost so painful that I considered going back to waxing... not Cindy's machine! The process is quick and, honestly, pain free. I don't have a high tolerance for pain so this is an honest answer. Cindy's prices are also among the best in town as I was researching various spas before I landed here. I also appreciate how professional the environment and scheduling process is. I receive email notifications and reminders which is very useful. Cindy's space is very tidy (and has an AMAZING magazine selection) and comfortable. It is also extremely rare that I have to wait - and sometimes I wish I had to wait so I could look at all the magazines :) Overall, I highly recommend Advanced Medical Laser. I've been coming here for laser hair removal treatments for a few months now and have been very pleased each time. There are certainly some quirks to this place, but you'll get the results that you want at a price that can't be beat. Most of you know them from their Groupon deals, which are a real steal. The downside, however, is that once a Groupon offer goes up, they're flooded with new clients so scheduling an appointment can be very difficult. Their secretary isn't always great about returning calls, so just be patient and persistent. Don't be put off by the doctor. He is aloof and disinterested, and clearly just shows up for the paycheck, seeing as laser hair removal is a very lucrative business. The technicians are the people you'll deal with from that moment on and they're both very skilled and very personable. Cindy was my technician for most of my treatments and she's very friendly and very thorough. When you receive a treatment, you're under a huge magnifying lens to make sure every area gets treated without any missed patches. Recently, another technician partnered with her and she has done my last two treatments. She's also very friendly, but very stern about following protocol - if you've had even just a little too much sun on the area, she'll send you away to reschedule because you're at risk for scarring, or at least sub-par results. What's strange, though, is I'll receive an e-mail that I'm scheduled for Cindy and then be seen by the other technician instead. Short Review: Friendly and professional staff that deliver reasonably priced results. Long Review: I'd thought about laser hair removal for years, but as a guy I never felt comfortable enough to actually try it. So I kept shaving. I was first drawn to Advanced Medical Laser Center because of their low cost. I decided that at their price point, I could try it and if it didn't work out, I wouldn't have lost much. I called and arranged the doctor consultation where they spent time answering my questions, reviewing my medical history, and understanding my expectations. They ran a quick test on the area to determine if I was a good candidate for laser. The doctor was professional and knowledgable. Cindy, the owner and my laser technician, was engaging and friendly. My apprehensions when I originally walked in were resolved by the time I left. I made my first appointment for the following week. I admit to, again, being a little nervous when I arrived for my first appointment. I don't know any other guys who have had laser hair removal so I was a little self conscious. The office is clean and inviting - very professional yet there is a casual ambiance to it. The receptionist greeted me warmly and had me take a seat as I had arrived about 10 minutes early. About 2 minutes later, the previous client came out from the treatment area. I saw them remove all the sheets and towels from the room and return with a fresh set. Cindy was ready for me exactly at my scheduled appointment time. Cindy came into the treatment room after I had made myself comfortable on the exam table. I think she must have sensed I was still a little nervous because she reassured me and engaged in small talk as she began the procedure. She was methodical and would ask if there was any pain. Actually, it kind of feels like a rubber band snapping against your skin. Not something that I find particularly comfortable, but it falls well short of pain. After about 10 minutes, I was done. She informed me to refrain from hot showers for the next few days and to notify the office if there were any adverse reactions. The slight redness from the procedure went away in less than an hour. Over the next several weeks, I noticed the hair follicles falling out. At about 3 weeks I was elated that I was seemingly free from the hair. At about 4 weeks, I noticed new hair starting to grow in. The thing about laser hair removal is that only the hair in the growth phase is removed. Our bodies grow hair at different times and rates which is why you need multiple sessions to remove all of it. I was aware of this from my consultation and also knew that I would probably need more than 4 sessions to be completely hair free. I knew all of this, but I was using these first few sessions as my "experiment." I've gone back every 6-7 weeks for another round of treatment. In my 4 appointments (to date), 2 were at the exact time of my appointment, 1 was 5 minutes early, and 1 was 5 minutes late. I would give them high marks on respecting my appointment time. By my third appointment, I was comfortable enough to add another area to be treated. I am very happy with the results so far and expect a few more sessions to achieve my final desired results. Everything about this place is awesome. Cindy is super nice and very personable, as well as her staff. Before they start the actual treatments, they do a skin test, so remember! Your first appointment is NOT the treatment. The most I've had to wait is maybe 5 minutes, it's easy in/easy out. They make the following appointment while you are there, which sends an immediate email letting you know your next appointment. They also send reminder emails a few days before your appointment. Aside from the great staff, they also have a very pleasant waiting area with plenty of magazines available, as well as coffee and water. I also came to this office after buying a Groupon - if you subscribe to other deals sites, you may have noticed that it has come up multiple times on Groupon and LivingSocial. I kind of wonder if this is the only way they get clients, because I would certainly not send my friends here. I did my lower legs and did not have a particularly effective treatment, and am not willing to return to do more sessions. The woman who does the actual lasering is very unprofessional. I was there four times and each time she spent the entire session bitching about something or other. She also told me about her plans to start a Groupon-like business, so perhaps she realizes that this is not the career path for her. She did not offer me any pre or post lasering care tips, I had to ask her about sun exposure, etc from what I had read on the internet. The setup is cheap, you are lying on a nice padded full length chair, but sometimes facing the wrong way (ie feet on the head rest) and it is covered in an old sheet that smells funny. There was no indication whether it was changed, if the glasses were cleaned, etc. Also instead of standing up and moving around you, the chair is pushed up against the wall and you have to constantly turn over, move your legs this way or that, it seemed that she didn't want to get up from her stool. I didn't have particularly good results, and only on the last session did she mention that she could turn the laser up. If she had thought of that sooner, perhaps I would have had better results. I have very pale skin and very dark hair so it should have been more effective, and she did not offer me any tips on how I should prepare my legs before coming in (when to shave, exfoliate, etc). I am not willing to pay full price for services here and I don't think even the Groupon price was worth it. They do have online scheduling which is nice, but it is awfully odd that each time I scheduled, I was blocked off for 45 minutes, but only spent about ten or fifteen getting the actual procedure done. I have seen it done on TV and they are very methodical, making sure that every area is covered multiple times, but she was pretty slapdash about it and there are some areas that did not get done very well. Overall I don't think she is taking the time or providing the attention necessary for such an expensive procedure, and I didn't enjoy being with her due to the complaining and her being late. read more

Save your money. I got a groupon and was really excited about having the treatments. I have a very sensitive bikini area and get bumps really bad after shaving. I had four treatments and saw no results. I know they say that you should have eight treatments ideally, but shouldn't you see some results after four? I expressed my concern to the doctor who didn't seem to care. She just said that I could get more treatments at 50% off. There were several problems with scheduling and at least one time my husband drove for his appointment and it was closed! We live over 50 miles away! Very unprofessional in my opinion. The first treatment seemed great, a lot of the hair fell out. The next four treatments were WORTHLESS! It seemed like she cranked the juice down after the first treatment. I came to this office a few months ago for my consultation to get my bikini area treated. Finding the place was a little hard only because Google Maps has it located on the other side of the road and I felt the office's sign was not easy to see but I'm not going to hold that against them. Not every business can have a big flashy sign. I finally made it inside after driving around the other nearby offices, and was just a few minutes late. The receptionist, however, was very friendly and got me checked in. I took my seat and waited for just a couple more minutes and was seen right away for my consultation. The questions that I was asked were pretty much the same that I had answered on the forms they emailed beforehand, and I did not really have any questions for them since I've had this procedure done before at a different office a few years back. Still though, I was surprised how quickly it went. I guess I was expecting the consultation to be more in depth. I was scheduled for my first appointment and I was surprised that they were able to get me back in in less than a week which is what I was hoping for. After that, I was taken to the treatment room and shown the equipment and the consultation was over. I returned the following week for my first appointment and once the receptionist checked me in, she took me right to the treatment room and gave me instructions on what to do in there. She was still very friendly. I got ready in that room and waited maybe only ten minutes. That didn't bother me much, though I was feeling anxious and nervous even though I had done this before. Also, the treatment room was clean and prepared for my appointment and it had a cozy feel. Once Cindy came in, she was super nice from the start and we were just talking about pretty much anything, which really helped calm my nerves. If it were silent in there, I would have felt awkward. She also didn't ask questions like why I wanted this treatment done and things to that matter. That happened at the last place I went to and it made me feel like I was being judged. This appointment however was going well, and to top it off, Cindy offered to do treatment on my underarms for a discounted price. The whole appointment was pretty quick, and of course you might start to wonder, "Well did that just do anything?" Obviously it did, and even a month later I could tell the results are positively apparent, in both the bikini area and underarms! After the first treatment was over, I met back up with Cindy in her office to get scheduled for the next one and I was told they should be 6-8 weeks apart. I was surprised when I heard this because I thought I read on the website that most clients have about 4-6 weeks in between each treatment. Did I not fall under that category of "most clients" or did they just change the time frame here? Either way it quickly saddened me as I had been hoping I would only need an average of 5 weeks in between each appointment so that I can fit all my sessions in before my wedding this summer because I'll be moving a couple hours away after that. Once I told her that, she mentioned I could just make my appointment when I am back in town. I would have preferred to have them all done before the wedding so that my bikini line is completely treated for our beachy honeymoon, and that is why I scheduled my first appointment when I did, using their 4-6 weeks range. I obviously should have started a tad bit sooner. That's my fault though, and I'm not too worried about it since Cindy assured me that after five treatments, the results should be pretty good at that point. Other than that confusion, I like the office and the staff and most definitely the treatment! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for laser hair removal. They always have amazing specials via email valid for current clients!!! Beyond that, they know what they're doing and will safely give you great results. I am so frustrated with dealing with this company I can't wait until I've finally gotten all four treatments done (I purchased a groupon- 4 laser treatments for $199) and I will never give them my business again. Every single appointment I've scheduled with them (3 so far) has been cancelled and re-booked, often the re-booking is much, much later (as in, the first available is six weeks from the date of the appointment they cancelled on me.) Also, they rarely, if ever, answer their phone and do not return phone calls. This requires me to call many, many times repeatedly at different times of the day, crossing my fingers hoping someone will answer the phone. I would say a conservative estimate would be me leaving 5 messages before I actually talk to someone. I understand unexpected things come up and you have to cancel and re-schedule, but I think the lack of and poor communication along with the fact that clearly Cindy does not have enough support staff is the root of my frustration. If Cindy is going to have things come up that often, then she needs to have another Aesthetician or someone certified to use the laser to prevent this from happening EVERY SINGLE TIME. read more
