I had a lower blepharoplasty with Dr. Mikel Lo in April 2024 at ABOUT FACES in Tucson and was not satisfied at alll. The procedure was to remove the eyebags under my eyes. After the procedure was done, I did not see any improvement at all. 6 months later, I visited him and he told me to be patient and that it takes time. Another 3 months later, I visited him & was told that it takes time again. Dr. Lo did suggest that he would have to do something else (I don't remember the technical terms of the procedure) & would not charge me. Based on the lack of improvement from my original procedure, I did not have confidence for him to do another procedure on me. I am very unhappy with the way I was treated and I left feeling like I was tricked out of my money. I bought 2 services during an open house special -- and prepaid for those services. When I had the first service, they added an additional $320 charge to the procedure without my knowledge or consent. They did not tell me there was a charge for what they were doing or advise me of a price so that I could chose whether to add it or not. I was not even told of the upcharge when I checked out; I was just told that I had pre-paid for my service, so I was good to go. Two months later I returned and had the second service that I had bought during the open house (and prepaid for) but, as I went to leave they told me I had to re-pay for this second prepaid procedure. When I tried to explain that I had purchased the session during the open house and that I had a receipt, all of the front desk people left the reception area to talk about how to handle my account. (They were behind the wall in front if the reception area; I could hear them talking.) After making me wait approximately 45 minutes, the office manager finally came to the desk, and told me that I had incurred a $320 charge during my first pre-paid visit. (I will point out that this was the first I had heard of this and that I was up charged without my knowledge or consent.) It turned out that instead of informing me of the additional charge before, during, or after the add on to the pre-paid procedure, they instead went into my account (again, without my knowledge or consent--and without informing me in anyway) removed the second pre-paid procedure's payment. As bad as my experience was, I had no intention of leaving this review, but they just sent me an automated email asking me to share my experience--so at their invitation I have decided to share my experiences in hopes that the doctor who owns the facility will retrain the staff so no other customers feel like they were tricked out if their money. I had a procedure done by Dr. Lo that a previous eye/plastic surgeon said was impossible. I got a very good result from the surgery. The entire surgical process was very easy and not stressful. Dr. Lo and his staff are exceptional. They are so friendly and genuine, they make you feel very comfortable. Dr. Lo does not rush through your appointment and patiently answers all your questions. Of course you have to ask the questions he can't guess what's on your mind but he will certainly take the time required to answer whatever questions you have to your satisfaction. I've also had some med spa procedures done and I'm very pleased with Aimee who did the procedures. It's a very comfortable atmosphere overall and you feel very well taken care of by their staff. read more

Do not make an appointment here. Ever. I scheduled an appointment last summer and had to cancel due to work commitments . I never paid a fee prior to scheduling that appointment. I scheduled again today, after working hard to save money for the potential procedure, and after thinking about finances and the evasiveness of the receptionist, I decided to postpone. I called back to cancel within TEN MINUTES of scheduling this appointment. I had given my credit card info over the phone and was NEVER TOLD scheduling a consultation was non refundable. I also never signed anything to that effect. I was told by three different women with a terrible attitude that I had repeatedly cancelled appointments (only done this twice.) For that reason, they feel the need to punish me and charge me for an appointment I won't be attending scheduled for TWO WEEKS from now. They refuse to reimburse me because I'm wasting the doctor's time. He won' t be seeing me and I'm sure he had plenty of notice since I called 12 days prior to the appointment and a mere ten minutes after making it. Upon request to speak to an office manager I was lied to by being told the office manager was not available. Then I was told there are no office managers. Then I was told the Dr himself refuses to reimburse me. I plan on disputing it with my credit card since I'm paying for services I haven't received. The office staff offers to re-schedule me but why would I trust my life with a money grabbing business that lies to its customers? I can be grateful I'm only out the 150 I guess. One of the receptionists wanted to give me a lesson on how Doctors work. Here's a lesson - don't charge people for services not rendered. Make sure you tell people the appointment fee is non refundable before implementing the greed of grabbing card numbers. This business only cares about money. Stay away. read more

Worst experience I have had in a physicians office. There is lack of systems, processes, communication, and customer experience. The office has you come in for 2 visits which should be completed in 1, and then charge you for 2 visits. I had a referral knew office knew what I was coming in for, had 5 minutes conversation with surgeon , then made me return for another visit for pictures charging for another visit. The conversation and pictures should of been done on visit one. Front desk staff rude does not lookup when you enter, then as you are leaving shouts before you leave you need to pay your co pay. The office staff present you with your paper work including consents, without the physician reviewing any of it. By law the physician is suppose to have you sign the consent after talking to you. Would not recommend this office to anyone. Might be good for cosmetic treatments read more

Agree with review of unhappy patient. This physician has no bedside manner and does not explain. As a patient I needed to ask all the questions about what would happen to me. The front desk receptionist is rude and only cares that you pay and cover the bill. Never made face contact on several visits. I ended up changing doctors. Would not recommend or go back. read more
