The kind of service I had at About Time was not just exceptional, it brightened my day. I needed a battery replacement on a Shinola watch that he was able to accurately access and quote the price within 2 mins of my walking through the door. 15 mins later the repair was done and the price was fair. This man was genuine, kind and made doing business with him simple and efficient. I can not overstate how genuine and kind this man is (I didn't get his name). Just for reference I have a jewler that I typically go to for all my jewlery repairs and cleanings (he is amazing and knowledgeable). I initially took the watch to him. He wasn't familiar enough with Shinola to feel comfortable doing the repair; and he didn't want to mess with it because Shinola watches are of very high quality. About Time is a fantastic little shop. It's pretty much invisible to passers-by, tucked between the much bigger and more attention-getting storefronts of CoHabitat and Baja Betty's. While it may be unassuming, it's a perfect little spot for watches and watch-related services. I recently went online and purchased a new watch whose band was way too big for my puny wrist. I popped into About Time, and the friendly guy at the counter effortlessly removed 3 links for a mere $10. I was in and out the door in literally less than 5 minutes. And the guy said I could come back for any adjustments, if the fit ever felt uncomfortable, no questions asked. I've also dropped by About Time for battery replacement, which is just as fast, cheap, and effortless as the band resizing. We entrusted Mo with three family heirloom pocket watches a few weeks ago. Two were about 130 years old and one closer to 100 years. They were my great grandfather's and I had recently acquired them. We chose to have the crystals replaced on two but I wanted my great grandfather's railroad pocket watch to again be able to tell time. Mo started by giving us good advice on what could be done with each. Most importantly, after sitting in drawers for more than sixty years, that railroad pocket watch is now working again like it did in the 1880's. Mo, exceeded our timing expectations and he kept us informed at each stage of the repairs for the three watches. For such a "high end" place with nice watches and customers who are willing to give patronage to local small business im really disappointed. Just went in to get a battery replaced on a watch, was greeted with a smile a prompt service. During the few minutes I waited for my battery replacement, I discovered the sweet selection of watches they have. I brought in a solar powered watch that I thought was dead and was expecting to pay a ton to get it replaced. Some of the friendliest and most honest guys in town! I was hoping that a vintage watch that belonged to my grandfather might be repaired, as it hadn't ticked a tock in years. A couple of people I spoke to in the neighborhood highly recommended taking it to About Time. I had no idea what went into a watch repair or how salvageable watches like it were. The guys at About Time were incredibly friendly and confident that if they couldn't fix it, no one could. After taking a look, they diagnosed exactly what was wrong with it and explained in simple terms what might need to be done in order to fix it. I ate lunch next door at Baja Betty's and by the time I was done, it was precisely 2:18pm... according to the watch they brought back from the grave! I was pleased as spiked punch and brought in 2 watches that needed batteries the next day. Same great smiles, same great service. I have been taking my Michele watch here for years and I honestly wouldn't trust anyone else with it. Yes it's a little more pricey then the standard mall kiosk but if you have a nice watch or you care about your watches you'll appreciate the extra care they take and knowledge they possess. Last time I was there they cleaned my watch and it literally looked almost brand new, minus the wear and tear scuffs you can't avoid, but the diamonds were so sparkly like it was fresh out of the case at Nordstrom. read more

Mo was really nice and responded in less than 5 minutes. He told me the battery change was $14.95 and the band adjustment would be another $10. Recently, based upon a multitude of 5 star reviews, I chose About Time Watch and Clock Repair in Hillcrest, to repair my 25 year old Howard Miller Grandfather winding clock. My clock had stopped running, and chiming. In fact, I was not even able to wind it. I am so happy that I found this wonderful shop. I just went in to have my grandfather's old Zodiac overhauled. My father had it sitting in a drawer for 20 years. When my dad gave it to me I called some watch repairs to service it but no one would look at it but Mo. I was confused because all I saw him do was get his sharpie to write and he was done.
