Sam is very prompt and always does great work. We related our washer problem with him via text. He anticipated it was probably the drain pump and brought the part with him. He turned out to be right, and we were washing clothes within the hour. He was able to fix a complex problem with our refrigerator, which was damaged during moving. My renters washer broke down and we gave her the okay to find someone to fix it. She hired Above and Beyond, he told her the mother board was bad and gave her an estimate to fix it. We okayed the estimate. The technician came back and installed the mother board, when it would not work. He then told her it needed a new motor also. She told him it would be too costly so declined. He still charged her $287 even though he did not complete the job because it was misdiagnosed. I spoke with the owner and he said he will fix it if I pay for the motor. This company is a joke and definitely does not go above and beyond. Their customer service stinks. He will only text. No phone calls. Look elsewhere for your repair needs. read more

We've used Above & Beyond in the past but it's been a while. Our refrigerator stopped cooling and I gave them a call. Seth came out, was on time and diagnosed the problem quickly. He had us back up and running in an hour and at a very reasonable price. In this disposable world we live in it's nice to know there are still conscientious repair people out there. Above and Beyond was sent out by our home warranty service. The technician was pleasant and professional however he completely misdiagnosed this issues pertaining my washer and dryer.  On a Sunday evening while my son was washing clothes the dryer started smoking and within a few minutes the dryer was engulfed in flames.  Thankfully due to my Wifi cameras and doorbell the entire incident was caught on camera.  The technician stated there was not any evidence of a recent fire even though my entire house still smelled like smoke.  The tech arrived 30 minutes early to which only my son was home and he didn't bother calling to speak with the homeowner to get the full details.  Also the diagnosis of my washer was an overload of clothing; well the fire department through the clothes up in the washer to get them out of the way and the washer had not been used since the fire. read more

Seth came to our home and was very nice, until things started to go wrong, then he was extremely rude and condescending. At first he came in and ordered a new part for our ice maker and said he would come back with the part. He returned over three hours earlier than expected and did not call ahead so we were not prepared. Then he asked for a part we no longer had. The ice maker tub- which was cracked and broken into pieces. We told him we had thrown it out since he ordered a new one. Seth said well you should have known not to throw it out. I am an archivist and my husband is a budget analyst, we are not appliance repair people. The part was just plastic and broken into pieces. There is no way we could have known to keep the part unless we were told. Which we were not. In fact we were lead to believe we were getting all new parts, not a cannibalized version. Then he laughed at us when we said we did not know to keep it saying it is somehow common knowledge. He then claimed that the ice maker was technically fixed, even though it has no tub or augur and ice doesn't come out of the door...yet our insurance covers the entire ice maker. He said we would have to wait months or even years before our ice maker part comes in and because we threw out the old part it would not be covered- which would have been the part where I would make sure that the customer knew not to throw it out, as it is extremely important. I called the owner and he literally called us liars as Seth could not possibly have been rude or condescending....I was in retail for 20 years, and rule number one is that when someone has a problem, you listen and never blame or make the complaint out to be some kind of lie. It invalidates your customers and clients, and leads to a drop in sales which small businesses cannot afford. I will be reporting to the better business bureau and I will be writing to American Shield and recommending this company be dropped as a contractor. read more

I'm so glad I did not read the reviews prior to calling A & B. Seth from Above and Beyond scheduled a diagnostic visit within 24 hours of my call. All other companies would have put me off for at least a week and charged me more for the privilege. Clean and courteous, he arrived within a half hour window and got right to work. He fixed my washer quickly, then checked out my dryer. He did some cleaning, we discussed what to do next which my husband and I will take care of. All this took well over an hour, yet he only charged the initial quoted fee for diagnosing the issues. Yes, I will call them again. Yes, I will recommend them to my friends. read more

Above and Beyond was sent out by our home warranty service. The technician was pleasant and professional however he was not able to locate the gas leak on our gas range. The gas company has been out three times to check the range and has indicated a leak each time. The A&B tech said no leak was present and now the warranty company will not pay our claim to restore the range to working order. The tech was going to leave the range on with gas on, i have a wife and young child at home. I am not going to risk their safety when the gas company has confirmed there is a problem. I am going to error on the side of caution. I would not recommend using this company. Update: Our home warranty company sent A&B out again, and again after gas company determined a leak was present, A&B could not. That isn't as upsetting as finding out the the owner of A&B told the home warranty company that they ran tests on the oven for hours to confirm no leak was present. That is an outright lie. The tech from A&B was never in our home for more than 60 min on either visit. I will be filing a claim with the better business bureau, stay away from this company. read more

I contacted this business to fix a problem with my washing machine. After approximately 7 different visits by the company's technician, not to mention several calls to his boss (hmmm!) for advice, the problem remained. I could tell you much more but suffice it to say "forewarned is forearmed" and your best bet is to contact someone else. I totally understand where Luke T. is coming from with his review.
