I usually come in early, before 8:00 a.m., and unfortunately, parking can get a bit chaotic any time after that. My bagel is always fresh and just $2.75 in cash. I don't think it has preservatives, so it probably won't hold up well if you wait until the next day to eat it--best enjoyed fresh! I've also tried their coffee, which is nice and hot. They offer a variety of creamers at no extra charge, including oat milk, which is a nice touch. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. This is a hidden gem the bagels really delicious. They have a lot of different cream cheese flavors, soft and crunchy homemade cream cheese. My favorite one was a jalapeño cream cheese, they have been in business for 35 years. Very nice service with a smile family owned. Since I was 4 years old in 1980, I have always believed Western Bagel to be the best bagel in the Los Angeles area (and possibly the world). But random happenstance had me doing business on this particular block of Ventura Blvd and craving a bagel at the same time. I went into Abraham bagel and ordered my favorite, the onion bagel. It is difficult to explain the experience; bagels are 80% texture. And Abraham Bagel wasn't just better than Western Bagel. It was a unique, interesting texture that I'd never experienced in a bagel before. A little bit harder than the Western, but also in this zone of perfection. The bagels have gotten very thin in the last few years. The first time I saw them look like that I thought they made a mistake with the dough, but they have stayed looking like that for a few years now. The prices are too much for the quality too. They want $18 for a bagel with lox, no one charges that much except for one place I know that makes their own lox and has way better bagels. It's just sad. And there's one guy who works there who's really cocky and has an attitude. They should try to do better, but there are no other bagel places in the neighborhood so I guess they don't have to. They also offer a variety of schmear like chives, regular, lox and berry. The bagels are toasted to perfection - no need to ask for a double toast like elsewhere. Good prices. Bagels are cut in half by default. I'm not too sure about their drinks, but they do sell coffee and tea. They have a bunch of syrup and add-one available for grabs, too. They sell stuff in bulk for catering and takeout orders. I must try the Bialy bagel sometime - and I recently discovered there's a pancake version of it! I'm told it's best with cream cheese in the middle. Abraham shares a lot with a COVID testing place, a threading place, a pizza shop and a convenience store. I was in LA for only a day, didn't want to drive to Fairfax or Pico, but was disappointed in Valley choices Western Bagel and Einstein's (which they say used to be a Manhattan Bagel). In fairness, Western is a quality bagel place but the "bialy" was no different from an onion bagel. Anyway my scope is narrow, bialy only, and Abraham does a great job. I take my bagels seriously and unfortunately I did not have a great experience at Abraham Bagel. While the customer service was nice, our food was not good. I ordered turkey bacon, avocado, and lite cream cheese on my bagel. My bf ordered Jalapeño cream cheese. We repeated the order back a few times and I double checked the cream cheese. My bagel was not toasted properly, turkey bacon was cold and soggy, and we both had regular cream cheese despite being charged extra. Very nice people who helped us but subpar bagel :( read more

It's this place, Abraham Bagel Cafe. The owner boils, then bakes the bagels. That's the right way. They're crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Just like New York. WOW!!! I've been seeing ads for New York bagels made in New York City and finally decided to try them....UGH!!! They're not crispy on the outside and they're way too thick and sweet. NOT GOOD. I decided to give your shop a try because I read good reviews on Yelp but my opinion is that you get 1-star.
