The server welcoming us was the sweetest, explaining everything they offered and sharing us dessert samples to try before we placed our orders. We got to try their Ube and Pandan creme caramel, Ube cheesecake, and the #1 Ube upside down pie. Our fave was the last one, basically solid creamy custard with legit ube flavor, topped with crumbs. Came here to get coffee cause I parked right in front of them on the street to go to another store. I have never been here before. It's a Filipino American bakery selling custard based sweets such as leche flan, caramel custard, ube creme caramel and more. I don't try any sweets but now that I know I will definitely come back to do so. I orders a cold brew coffee black which tastes amazing and the price was just right. Found this cute, little, Filipina owned dessert shop and knew I had to support! I definitely drove past the building the first time and thought there was only street parking, but they actually have tons of parking located in the back of the building. Unfortunately it was raining that day but they had a little outside space that seemed like it would be really cute to hang out on a nice day. The inside is a lot tinier, but all still really cute. Spoke to the staff about some of their best sellers and ended up trying the ube upside down pie, banana Nutella bread, lady's grey Créme caramel, and the classic vanilla Créme caramel.. can safely say all were delicious! The ube upside down pie was definitely the winner though. Brought some home to the family and it was the crowd favorite! The flans/Créme caramels were also really delicious. Crème Caramel LA is one of my favorite cafés. The white chocolate mocha with ube cold foam is a must, and their warmed ube pudding is so comforting and delicious. If you go early, you have a better chance of getting fresh pandesal, but be prepared for a long line. Definitely worth it for the quality and flavors. read more

I tried it, I gave it a chance. I thought, from all the positive reviews, that this place would be awesome. I understand how some people would think so, as this place does give you the sweet satisfaction you are seeking. The ube flan was decent, but nothing I would seek. Any flan elsewhere that is dense and yellow would give you the same satisfaction. The cheesecakes are pretty good and priced accordingly to what small shops would charge. I would prefer to find a real baked cheesecake then buy a small round though. But if you are craving it, it will do. I was really hoping the pandesal would be amazing, but it was nothing to die for. I could get better pandesal at Seafood City. Give it a try, maybe you like it more than me. It's not bad, but not great. read more

OMG what a gem! Randomly found this place on yelp and since my mom and I are ube fans we figured we'd try it. Seriously could not have been any happier. We parked in the back. The cashier was so sweet (Mo) and made some incredible recommendations which we followed. We started off with a ube horchata latte - so delicious! My mom got a match latte with almond milk and sweetened with their spiced maple syrup. We shared the bacon and cheddar quiche and each had dessert. My bf and I were in the area to grab some food and decided to drop by this spot for some coffee! The photos and menu looked intriguing and I love to see more Filipino inspired drinks and desserts popping up more! Ube is a popular one but Pandan is next in line and my all time favorite! Parking is in the back of their building but super tiny and shares the lot with other shops nearby. We didn't find a spot so we went out the back to a residential street and parked there. We walked in and were greeted by the workers. Super, suuuuuper tiny coffee shop! I think there was like one table inside but the rest are outside and not much at all. They had a full display case of Filipino desserts and I was super excited to try the pandan upside down pie! We also got the Ube one and a vanilla Créme caramel. I ordered an iced latte with pandan cold foam! I was super excited and it was made quickly. Definitely needs mixing because my first straw sip was pure espresso (deliciously strong which is a plus). It's probably meant to drink by sipping on the lid rather than a straw because then you can smell the aroma of the pandan and you get that foam flavor first. I ended up taking a sip of the foam and then drinking through the straw for the rest of it and kind of mixing it that way LOL! Delicious! It's more of a lighter flavor and subtle at first but really good once you get it. Love this spot and all the cute artwork and trinkets displayed around the shop. Can't wait to visit again! A friend recommended Creme Caramel LA and we finally decided to give it a try. This is what we ordered: - Salted caramel latte (10/10) - really delicious latte, nice and creamy, not overly sweet - Ube horchata latte with a shot of espresso (8/10) - delicious cinnamon flavor from the horchata but I might get it without the espresso next time as others suggest to get more of the ube flavor - Ube crème caramel (12/10) - incredible! Like a flan but super creamy with a nice ube flavor - Coffee creme caramel (9/10) - not too sweet but a good amount of coffee flavor and super creamy The place is relatively small but still super cute and charming, and they have some seating inside and outside. My Go-To spot! The ube horchata is delish and unique, although I recommend that you try it as is -- adding an espresso shot (should you choose to) can really hinder the flavor and change perspective for those who try it the first time. They've recently changed locations just a couple doors up to a more spacious spot away from the busy Burbank Blvd and on Kester. Aside from their famous be horchata, they have expanded their bakery case to include freshly made, and many varieties of pan de sal (a popular Filipino bread, similar to dinner rolls). I've been coming in sparingly throughout the years they've been open and I'm absolutely in love with their upside down ube custard pie, ube brownie bars, and spanish torta (sort of a quiche if you will). I went today to favorite small coffee shop ( créame caramel LA) for a coffee and was told they weren't taking cards today, cash only. When I said I only had a card, she said they were "supporting the strike." So let me get this straight: they stop taking cards so they don't pay taxes, but I still pay taxes on my coffee even when I pay cash? It feels like they're pretending to be closed to the government while staying open, making money, and letting customers pay taxes--just not them. It's not about supporting the cause on the I E situation , it's about to look good and not really supporting. As a Latina, if you really want to support the cause, you should close completely--not just pretend. read more

Lots of dessert with great Filipino flavors and you can get ginataan in your coffee, which I love. The staff and the owner also all have an incredibly positive vibe, just really good kind folks. I really get a sense that the owner cares about being a positive force in the local community. Seriously, just really love this spot, it has become one of my neighborhood essentials. Parking in rear is shared with other local businesses, but I've never had trouble finding a spot. The interior is on the smaller side, so we typically grab our goodies to go in the summer, but their little side patio and coffee window is super cute when it's a bit cooler out. We really like the desserts here and it's unfortunate that even though this is a chain, I think this is their only location that you can walk in and order their desserts, even though they also have locations in Orange County, Long Beach, etc. but those places are all delivery locations. Anyway, we were in the area, so we decided to stop by and get some of their custards. Our favorite by far is the Ube Cheesecake. We got other custards, such as the Creme Caramel and another (which I forget), but the Ube Cheesecake was the best of the three we ordered. I've never tried any of their other desserts, but their custards all are very good and we would definitely come here again if we're nearby. read more

Pros: Coffee is balanced. Not too sweet or absurdly strong. They have a good variety of syrup flavors and their seasonal drinks are good. Their pastries are all very good as well as unique from other coffee shops. I actually like that it's a small shop, but they do have some thin indoor seating and more outdoor seating if you want to stick around. The baristas are friendly and helpful in deciding what to get. Cons: I would only say the parking situation is a bit difficult as it's a small lot and they share it with surrounding businesses.
