I came in craving donuts, and lucky this spot sells them also by the half dozen! The lady at the counter was by herself, along with 2 customers sweltering in the heat as I assume the air conditioning wasn't on (or working). But I'm here to give my review on the overall wares being sold. The donuts were still fresh by 3pm on a random weekday afternoon and they still had a good variety to sell. Assuming their breakfast pastries were already sold out but I opted for a half dozen of their classic donuts. And my, did they hit the spot! I chose a variety of both the cakey donuts as well as the yeasty ones and it lasted us a couple of days. I paired it down with their pistachio smoothie which taste very much reminded me of Thrifty's pistachio ice cream (minus the nuts). The lady at the counter was very friendly and even sparked up a conversation as I came in with a full pregnant belly and hungry for sugar kind of look. I found it very nice that she wanted to ask questions and always had a smile on her face which made it seem very genuine. I'd come to learn that she had 2 kids of her own so sharing the motherly advice made me smile. If you want a good old fashioned LA mom n pop donuts (and not the chain style donuts you can find every few miles) check this spot out! read more

Wow. Just wow. I have never had a better experience in an LA donut shop, or possibly in a store in the US. The owner, who helped us out, was incredibly kind, warm and so knowledgeable about her product. The shop is super cute with a very classic LA donut shop flair, which is one of the best and comforting design esthetics in the city. Upon leaving, she gave us such a warm, beautiful goodbye. Oh, and that's not to mention that the donuts and croissants were fire (and we went mid afternoon). So flavorful, soft, not crazy sweet and exceptionally pillowy! I live a little over 10 minutes away, but this is truly my new favorite spot in the valley. read more

Horrible horrible place. It smelled like urine , I went around 8 pm and there was a group of men playing cards in there! They were all laughing and staring at me they looked drunk. The service here at USA Donuts is leagues beyond any other donut shop in the area! I was greeted and helped by an older and younger lady, both so attentive and kind, I wanted to buy out the whole shop! I came for some Vietnamese coffee because I just could not find any other place in the Van Nuys area that had it (maybe they do but I don't see it through online menus). So I ordered that along with a turkey & cheese croissant and a cronut. The Vietnamese coffee was delicious! Just the right sweetness from the sweetened condensed milk, strong coffee, served up in a big cup with the right amount of ice! It was a perfect jolt to start monday morning. The croissant was HUGE, soft, buttery, flaky, and when warmed up, creates the best gooey melt away texture. Great amount of turkey and cheese unlike other places I've noticed have skimped on the filling. The cronut was layered flaky goodness, soft on the inside with a crispy exterior. Not greasy or oily either but it had a great glaze for sweetness on top. read more

There's no way i'm ever going back to this shop again. Lady extremely rude and unprofessional. We ordered two ham and cheese croissants and noticed the ham had a spoiled like taste. Think about it $11 for spoiled ham i don't think so! When we went back to let her know about the situation, she rudely shouted " what do you want!", "there's nothing i can do!" "Next time don't come!". So for that never going back. If there was an option for ZERO STARS trust this place is it!! read more

I stopped in to buy a dozen donuts for the nurses at Barlow Respiratory Hospital and the lady who helped me was wonderful, kind and helpful. She even gave us some donuts for the doctors. The meal was good but the smoothie wasn't it, it tasted fine but when I saw them make it it's like 2 cups of ice with a little milk and two powders that were named strawberry and banana. I went here because I was getting my car fixed at Firestone and the wait was 3 hours so I decided to come here for lunch. A really great family business! I always get really great service here. The first time, I stopped early in the morning to get donuts for my coworkers and the owner was so sweet and she helped me select my donuts. I actually don't like donuts very much but I had to say I was impressed with the freshness of the donuts. (Part of the reason why I needed help selecting donuts lol) I was so impressed with how nice she was that I make it a point once in a while to stop and by a hot chocolate or drink.
