Ordered a chicken sandwich. It was a bone in chicken breast. Never had a bone in piece of chicken on a sandwich. I will never go back.

Would give them negative stars if possible We just stopped there to eat. However, as my 83 year old mother began to sit down in a booth, a lazy employee came running out and told her she couldn't sit there, and immediately sits her fat #% down in the booth next to it. I'm assuming the establishment is not allowing dine in for either staff shortage or covid restrictions. A good manager would have said it more nicely or made an exception. Needless to say, we left and went down the road to the "Freez" where they gladly gave us a booth to have lunch. read more

I've seen Abrams around the eastern part of the state but haven't eaten here before today. I got the pork sandwich and fries meal that comes with a drink for $6. It's a decent deal, they give you a lot of fries and they are fairly good fries. But the sandwich wasn't all that good. For one the first bite I took contained a big piece of gristle. And the pork had an off taste to it. I didn't see any BBQ sauce, but that would have definitely helped. I wish I would have ordered the "buffet" instead. It's $9 and includes 4 meats and 4 sides plus a drink. But the buffet option isn't really marked well on the menu and I didn't see it until I had already paid for the sandwich. One nice thing is the bathrooms here are clean, and the kitchen looked clean as well. I'd definitely go back, but wouldn't order the pork sandwich. read more

Serve great food but customer service is lacking. Last week I tried calling and no one would answer the phone. Drove there and they were open at window only. The store hours on the door indicate that they are open til 8 pm. I called at 6 pm but no one would answer. When I went to the window I had to call out several times then the lady said that I need to come to the window because they were closed. If this Abrams in Scotland Neck closes before 8 pm then the sign on the door should be changed to reflect the true closure time. If no one will answer the phone at a certain time then a recording should let people know that they are close or closing soon and will not be taking phone orders after 5:30 pm. My wife refuses to call anymore for that reason. She have called several evenings with no one answering. Go to store to find that they are still there serving. read more

Another example of a restaurant that executed the concept very well. They feature reasonable prices and generous portions. The collard greens had a perfect amount of spice, and my hamburger steaks were great. My party also enjoyed the fried chicken, chicken tenders, hush puppies, fries, and green beans. Great soul food restaurant and amazing southern hospitality. They have amazing collards greens, cabbage, bbq turkey wings, bbq pig tails and much more. If you want to order for family gathering make you going months in advance because they are a pack places during the holidays. The homemade fries are the best. Probably one of the nastiest restaurants I have been in. Stopped otw to Virginia at 10:30am all breakfast food looked empty and the little bit that was out looked like it had been there since opening. No Tenderloin and gravy even tho the old gravy sat there with a film over it. Me and my son wanted cheese biscuits but there was only one so we got it and a hard regular biscuit. Went to get out drinks there was no ice in the machine. Tables in the dining area were filthy. Lady standing over trash can the whole time we were there told customer at 10:45 that there were no more cheese biscuits and they weren't going to make anymore... why have breakfast till 11 if you are not going to serve breakfast till 11??? Customer pulls up at drive thru at 10:54 and they tell him there not serving lunch for another 15 minutes so they leave. If your not serving breakfast or lunch what the hell are you open for your not selling ANYTHING. This place was completely beyond belief. A completely different Abrams than Greenville . read more

The food is the star! Collard greens, mac and cheese, BBQ, fried chicken, fried fish and vegetables are cooked southern style, meaning with lots of flavor. Banana pudding is really good! The only problem is that they don't write orders down... You may not get what you asked for if ordering a plate (entree and 2 sides) and there's 2 or more in your party. Oh, you'll get the correct entree but the sides being correct are iffy! (eaten there 3x, once was correct) Service is friendly. Will go back for the good food. read more

Abrams used to be one of the highlights of our trips to Sylvan Heights Bird park but our last two trips have decided that they WILL BE our last trips. Customer service has never been stellar but it's gotten worse. On our most recent visit we ordered meals which come with a drink and fries but they were out of fries. We didn't know what substitutions would be acceptable and the person taking the order made no offer of help for substitutions. We decided to forgo the meals and just ordered two cheeseburgers all the way (chili, cheese, ketchup, mustard) along with two other sandwiches and a pint of bbq/coleslaw. After driving away we realized the burgers only came with cheese and ketchup. We had to go back and when asking why, they said, "Oh we're out of chili." Maybe that's something we should have been informed of when ordering? The bbq was pretty good but the chicken sandwich but just a plain fried chicken breast patty. It wasn't terrible but it was very plain. We were also charged for four burgers instead of two but we didn't catch that until after we had returned and left again. We will try and call to see if they can refund us but either way we will not be returning. We really used to like this restaurant and it is disappointing that they have gone down in quality. I hope they can improve back to what they used to be but we won't be coming back to check. read more

Awesome bbq restaurant, unfortunately its not on a normal travel route. Wife and i were out driving around, came across this on a Sunday afternoon. Food was excellent, large quantity, and very reasonably priced. Their ordering system needs help: placed our orders with the girl at the first station, she wrote the order on the bottom of the paper plate with a pen. So then when it got to the girls filling the order, they couldn't read what was written and as a result my wife got cole slaw rather than squash. But it was so good! Very friendly place. read more
