Keith came out to service and clean my pellet stove. He also cleaned my dryer vent. Keith was at my home for around 30 minutes total. He did not go into the dryer vent main line, he went through the dryer itself which is something I could have done myself. My pellet stove... his "service and cleaning" included cleaning the bowl and the pipe. Keith did not go through the top of the piping of my home, he went through the opening of the inside of the pellet stove, he did not clean the unit nor did he inspect it. He did exactly what I do myself and charged me $200 for less than 30 minutes of work. I have pictures of his work or lack there of. When I texted Keith his response was defensive, when I responded with pictures he essentially told me off and to never contact him again. Very rude and unprofessional and poor quality of work. I am a single working mother and $325 is a lot of money for me. Highly disappointed and will be filing a BBB complaint and will never use his service again. read more

Our fireplace had not been cleaned in quite awhile. Keith checked the ducts and vent out side which was spewing soot on the side of house. He kept the inside of house pretty clean with all the brushes he used because our ducts were pretty winding.. He was right on time and got right to work. Works great now and Keith is easy to talk to. Keith with absolute chimney and duct is AMAZING. He cleaned both our duct and chimney. But he didn't just do that, he went above and beyond and even realigned our fire place so that we would get a better finished product. Keith went out of his way and even came back same day to finish the extra fixes on our chimney that neither of us had anticipated being an issue. Keith cleaned the chimney quickly and efficiently at a very reasonable cost. He also inspected the pipe with a a camera to make sure there were no leaks. In the process the baffle bord broke (it is very fragile) and Keith quickly got fire bricks from the nearby hardware store, came back and replaced the baffle bord with them. All at his own expense! Very poor communication skills. Couldn't get an appointment. Only the runaround. Never got an estimate.

I made an appointment Nov of '22. And, a service worker came out inspected/cleaned my fireplace and determined it was unsafe to use in the present condition. He then told me the cost to repair was 3k. He changed $475 to inspect and clean the chimney that was "unsafe" Fast forward, I didnt use my fireplace out of fear during that winter reason. Instead used my furnace to heat up my home and it was extremely costly. I finally saved enough July of '23 to make improvements but decided to get more quotes. Turns out my fireplace is in excellent working condition. I would not recommend this company under any circumstances. Hindsight is 20/20 and though the reviews are no longer visible I saw some suggesting this company was dishonest and incompetent. Should have went with my gut feeling. I hope this helps read more

We hired him to clean our fireplace/insert/chimney in Lakehead for $250.00. He came out, complained about how tight the insert was and supposedly cleaned chimney, put insert back in place while I was working on the home in another area. He came to me saying he was done and asking for payment. I paid him. I looked at it 30 minutes later... it is not reinstalled properly! Bowed out on one side, insulation is sticking out... I called him immediately and he didn't answer. I left a voicemail and then text him immediately. I sent him before and after pictures. He text me back saying he would call me when off current job. I gave it 2 days. Then I called and text him several times with no responses. Now when I call he picks up, doesn't respond and leaves the phone on until I hang up. I would not recommend him. He is unprofessional, irresponsible and will cost you more money in the end. We will be reporting him to the BBB and blasting all social media platforms in hopes that no one else will waste time and money on someone so dishonest and unprofessional. read more

This was one for the books. We purchased our place a year or so ago, and was told the old Heatalator fireplace was not functional. We called Keith, he came out to do an inspection and to clean the wood stove. He told us he could make the fireplace fully functional, but he had to repair and re-mortar the exterior of the chimney to make it water proof. To tell the truth, this fireplace was a disaster. Keith worked 3 days on the exterior forming concrete patching, on the face of the exterior, in many areas, did a mortar wash, to fill in the cracks and the stone and then sealed everything up. He relined our huge chimney flue, which looks brand new, fixed the damper, filled in any cracks he found, and sealed that too. Keith went above and beyond what we expected. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. You won't go wrong, hiring him, he will get the job done and get it done right! read more

Besides performing the basic seasonal service to prep our stove for winter, Keith inspected the entire unit and discovered an issue in the pipe of our nearly new Lopi which could have created significant problems if not addressed. After our house filled with smoke, we realized we couldnt postpone cleaning any further. I called Keith and he scheduled me for a week out as it was just before Christmas. He called the morning of our appt to see of it was okay to come early as his appts had taken less time than anticipated. Fine with me. When he got to us, he was polite and made sure the work area would stay clean. Once he cleaned the flue, he showed me on his camera as he inspected for any damage or corrosion. He also was able to tell me more about the components of my wood stove that even the installers didnt mention. Completely unreliable and very poor service! I had Keith come to our home to clean out our dryer vent and he went on the roof and ran his tool down through the vent, unfortunately he never came into the house to make sure the vent was clear and unfortunately our new dryer over heated and burnt out the control board. He rescheduled and cancelled last minute after waiting for him. Then he rescheduled again and never showed up. I tried calling and texting him with no response. My husband then called and was hung up on immediately. We now have to have our dryer repaired or replaced & lost $125.00. No one should ever have to go through this. Very very poor business handling. We hired Keith to repair 10 year old water degradation to an uncapped/unsealed two-story chimney, with a rusted damper/insert. Keith was professional, communicative, and on schedule. I highly recommend Absolute Chimney. I found Keith through the Chimney Safety Institute of America website while searching for certified chimney inspectors to inspect and clean my wood stove and chimney after a very scary flue fire incident. A storm was coming the next weekend and we really wanted to have peace of mind about our wood stove. I called some other chimney companies in town and it took them two hours to get back to me and when they did respond they said they could come out in two weeks. Keith at Absolute answered the first time I called and said he could come out that evening after his other jobs. He did exactly as he said and came out to our home that evening. He did a full cleaning of the stove and chimney and a video inspection as we requested. He identified several issue with the stove pipe and the wood stove that were causes of the flue fire. This was a newer home purchase For our family and newer stove setup for us. We had intended to get it inspected when we purchased the home but we put it off. There were several issues with the stove pipe that Keith went over them with us. He gave us options on maintaining the stove and chimney to keep it safe and also a last resort option of a new stove and pipe setup. We took him up on a complete new system since the flue fire was the second issue with this stove and pipe in the last six months. I am writing this review from the comfort of my living room looking at our beautiful, safe, new stove. Keith is very knowledgeable and efficient. I appreciated his prompt response to get a safe set up for my family during the winter. He made us a priority and took care of the issue all prior to a week of cold rain and snow!
