Got to the salon and it wasn't open. This was resolved by calling the owner, Stacy. About 3-5 minutes after a stylist pulls up to the salon and opens up the shop. The stylist, Ashley, got started right away. I needed to add on a wash and blow dry - which was no issue at all. I'm super particular and how my hair is handled and she was slightly heavy handed while detangling (hence the 4 stars and not 5). She doubled checked what style and length I booked - copper/ginger knotless braids at mid back length. Her parts are impeccable, the braids are neat and flat. The color combination of 350 and 30 were perfect and exactly what I was hoping for. The other women on staff mixed the hair and separated it so Ashley could focus on braiding. The whole service took roughly 5 hours. I booked on Styleseat which may not be the preferred method of the shop but it was just fine in the end. When booking this salon make sure to use the address listed on the business and not the one in Uber or you'll end up at different braiding salon. They'll kindly give you directions though. read more

I made an 8:30 am appointment for butterfly locs. The stylist Octavia arrived at 8:43 on a rainy day. Annoyed and moist i hopped out of my vehicle and entered the salon. Completely unapologetic octavia asks me if i am her butterfly twist appointmet meaning she knew to expect me and chose lateness. Disrespectful. Disliking her instantly, I say yes and refrain from mentioning her lateness. My patience was thin. Knowing abt stylists BS because ive been black my whole life, I show her a photo of what i want. I tell her that is the amount of butterfly locs i would like to see in my head. Octavia immediately says "its not going to be that thick" this is another red flag. My stylist should not be arguing with me about my desires at a $300 price point. Period. ($250 for the style $50 plus tip, the hair was not included and i spent another $50 on that making my price closer to $350 but... I decided not to argue about the hair i had to bring myself) She says that she cant make my hair as thick as in the photo because the persons hair in my photo is crocheted. I am immediately confused because, i understand that MY ROOTS will not look the same as the woman in the photo i provided but that has absolutely nothing to do with how many locs i wanted her to place in my head. she didnt mention that the difference would be in the look of my roots she said it wasnt going to be that thick. Meaning i wasnt about to get as many locs as i was showing her wanted. I could see that she was trying to modulate my future disappointment by trying to float the idea that because my picture had crochet hair that there was no possible way to put that amount of locs into my hair. Like I was too foolish to understand the obvious solution was to simply...part my hair into more and smaller sections. I straight up told her that she was making me uncomfortable and i asked if i could see a picture of what she was about to do and she showed me a picture that is not the same, but is very similar in part structure, to the picture i uploaded. It was then that i understood that octavia never intended to give me a level of work that i would be satisfied with. She gave off the vibe like it was very annoying that my appointment was so early in the morning, that i was going to get whatever she was going to give and i needed to be happy with it. And i was aghast??? I refuse to pay this salon $300 to have my scalp blowing in the breeze. I have attached a picture of what folks scalps are supposed to look like after a proper job is done. It is my opinion that the stylists in this salon do not want to spend the amount of time per client that needs to be spent to achieve the level of satisfaction that i was looking for. My appointment was supposed to be from 8:30-12:30 and... Instillations are a 6-8 hour process due to the braiding. This salon enjoys a tighter timeline than that because they will refuse to truly fill out your bricklayer pattern, resulting in the scalp-centric, hit by alopecia looks all over their instagram page which you can find and coroborrate what i am saying at: for_best_haircare. These looks are repeated in every instance of goddess braids or goddess locs on their page. I am certain that every single woman in this style on their IG page doesnt just suffer from alopecia. At some point you must acknowledge that the problem is the skill and desire of the stylist. So i put octavias $50 tip back into my wallet, apologized for wasting her time and told her to remove her work from my head. Stay off the ave. UPDATE: Note the owner's comment under my post. Does it look professional at all? She proceeds to call me everything but a child of god, talk about several things that had nothing to do w my order (she seems confused which i understand because she wasnt in the store when this happened) she also refused to actually DISPUTE anything i said because im CORRECT and hit the nail on the head about her lazy stylists in one guess. Stacy's stylists are late and unprofessional and her response shows me that she is also unprofessional. Lets recap! My concerns were as follows: 1. No one arrived on time. She didnt say anything about that. 2. Everyone had the stink eye. Apparently thats my fault. Hint: blaming ur customers who are rightfully angry at ur unapologetically late stylist is also deeply unprofessional. 3. Her stylists take too little time on each style and everyones scalps are showing and i have the receipts to prove it. Her response is crickets on that one. Im just a societal menace. ‍ No one asked for micro parting. Do not let this owner gaslight you under my review. I asked for SMALL PARTS. As you can see in the SECOND photo i uploaded with small, NORMAL sized parts. Her scalp just isnt visible because TAJA knows how to do hair. Look at her comment. Great braiding skills from my stylist. The ladies there are welcoming, kind and quick. And braid neatly. Pretty much you can them the style that you want and they will definitely do their best to mimic it. Helpful Tips: (1) - It wasn't overly packed, but its great to give your stylist/owner a heapsup about when you're arriving. Like I did. I've arrived at 2pm and left at 7:30pm. (2) - They don't braid with grease or gel. So grease your scalp ahead of time. (I wish I had). And bring your own gel (I find that sclicking down the parted edges with gel prevents the need to pull on the hair. Especially the edges. (3) - Check on your hair start and mid way. I asked for medium mid back. Pointed to my bra strap on my sweater but still ended with very long braids to my waist. :/ Went home to cut it to my preference. Besides that my braids are neat. I will def be back. But I now know what to do for my next visit. Also, I had braids that weren't tight to incredibly tight from other places. But here, though I have a some tight braids at the edges, overall it was not tight. So I appreciate this. I'm very picky with places, but this place is one of the few BEST braiding spots in Queens. And prices are reasonable. I recommend everyone who is looking for great braiders to visit this place. It's a must try! And will definitely be back. read more

This is the second time Bringing my children to do their braids at this salon, everyone is very polite and welcoming the hair dressers do a phenomenal job and really know their craft. I would recommend anyone to come get their hair done at this salon, satisfaction guaranteed!! One thing I admire is they practice good hair care they don't pull your edges like some places and the braids are neat!! I'm ashamed to have suggested this place to my family, given the service they received. Here is the thing. I've gotten my hair done here twice. Both times the service was good. I thought my parts were a little wide. But they worked fast and it didnt hurt. I sent my mom There. I sent my friend. I sent my cousin. and then. I sent my sister. I Drove my sister to an 830 am appt a few days ago and her stylist was very late. Upon arrival there was no apology and the stylist began trying to explain why she was unable to .... make smaller parts. We showed her a photo of how we wanted the final style to look. She said it was impossible. Which. Weird. but ok. We go in and let her get started. My sister is worried that it wont come out how she wants. So she asks the stylist to show a photo of what the finished product will look like. The woman pulls out a photo with half the volume of the desired style. My sister says "that is not what I'm looking for. I'm sorry to have wasted your time." and then she leaves a yelp review. in response to the review. The salon owner Stacey (who was not present at any point) replies to the review calling her names but denying none of the issues raised. And just like that. She lost not 1, but 4 clients. Because I'll be honest. The stylists at absolute creations do love wide parts that show off your scalp. And I was staying for the service. But apparently. The service varies widely. Go to Bebe's salon around the corner. She never calls you a menace to society for wanting your stylist to be on time and give you smaller parts. read more

So after looking at the website I decided to pop in and see if it was possible to be squeezed in for some knotless braids to my surprise Stacey was very accommodating and friendly she said she has some one who was very good (since my hair is short) and that she could start right away.....Tisa (I hope I spelled it right) is amazing!!! She was very pleasant asked me if it was too tight and finished a lot faster than I expected. The shop is very clean you have to have your temperature taken (stupid COVID) before they service you which was totally fine by me. SO happy I stumbled upon this salon! They took your temperature and asked each guest to wash their hands upon arrival, everyone was wearing masks (stylists and customers), I saw the owner wiping down the chairs with sanitizer after customers left, and their practices in the face of COVID made me feel safe and protected. Not to mention, my hair looks GREAT! My knotless braids are neat and uniform. Not too tight, and she took her time with my v e r y thick 4C hair. Well only reason I'm not giving a 5 stars is due to time and size. Let's start with the pros: Location is convenient and easy to find. The space is clean because I'm very big on environment because it's tells a lot. The hairstyle was done very neat. Cons: An appointment slot for a hairstyle can't say 225 minutes which is 3 hours and 45 minutes and I stay there for 6 hours and 15 minutes. That's unacceptable let's say you did 4 hours because 45 minutes is not far from a hour. Secondly the hairstylist was told medium clearly my hair style is not medium because if this is medium I don't want to know what is small. Professionalism I have no issues with you stopping to grab a bite but at least you could inform the client. You just don't stop in the process and proceed grab a bite. I managed my time based on the appointment slot thinking I could run do something once I'm done say 5:30 I give it till 6:30 give or take things happen. From a business side you have just lost customers based the time you're taking on one person. If your business hours of operation is 9-7 you did one person from 9-3. I would recommend people to use the saloon because again as stated they are clean and neat just time and doing as the client stated should be reinforced. read more

I went on August 10, 2022 to get an appt after seeing great reviews about this place. i spoke to the ownwe, Stacy. i asked was my hair long enough for braids. She examed my hair quickly and said yes. i told her i wanted my braids the length that she had which was to her shoulders. I asked how much and she said $170. I made an appt for the next day at 9:30am. I was there before that time and the salon was not yet opened. I went to the deli up the street returned and two of the workers was waiting outside after 9:30 am to go to work. Finally at about 9:45am about three more workers arrived and the salon was opened. I go in and I'm assigned to Jasmine for my braids. She called the owner Stacy to tell her my hair wasn't long enough. they said I had to get smaller braids than the medium size I wanted. Then Stacy told me it would cost me $200-$220. I told her she told me $170 the day before and she said no she said it would cost $180. I should have left then because already that was shady. I said I only came with $200 which included the tip for the braided. I can't say stylist because it was just braids no style. I had no idea that all of this hair was being braided on a tiny patch of hair on my neck line in the back of my head. Three of them came out when I got home. I took my own hair to the salon, three packs of prestretched Silver fox #51, as I've had salt and pepper hair since my 30s. I'm currently 67 yers old. I think this is why the owner thought I Would accept whatever was done. I'm watching everyone around me get boxless braids of course they were younger, of course I thought I was getting the same treatment. I was not facing a mirror and there was no mirror across from the station where I was sitting. When the braided finally get to the front and I see what's happenin. my braids look like Medusa's and they're knots all over the place. They looked terrible. I've always kept my hair no longer than shoulder length or pixie cuts. If the braids were done to lay flat it would have looked better. The braided sees I don't look happy and asked if I wanted the braids curled. She came back with a box of rods. I said no since I had been there waitping outside before 9:30am and it was now after 4:00pm. I asked her to pull it into a ponytail and even that looked terrible. I told Stacy i did not like what was done. She said did you tell the braider you wanted shoulder length which I did but she said it would come to my bra. If the braids laid flat on my scalp no problem. The staff and clients even knew these braids looked horrible from the looks it got. Stacy took my money after offering to either cut and put rubber bands on the ends or burn the ends. Please note she wasn't in the shop until later in the afternoon and not once did come to check anything. i had to go home and try to fix the mess. I cut it and curled it myself but it still looked a hot mess. Will include a picture if I can. Anyone who know me know I take great pride in my hair. I had to cut it when it broke off in the back due to Covid. This depressed me more than that. read more

If I could give this salon 0 - negative stars I would. Truly horrible experience. I came in for double halo braids, wash and a black color rinse. I stopped in the previous week before scheduling an appointment and showed the person at the salon a picture of the style that I wanted. On the day that I got my hair done someone other than the lady that I spoke with was scheduled to do my hair. During the wash process she kept pulling my hair, detangling starting from the middle as opposed to the ends. She was ripping through my hair. I asked if I could try detangling it and she rudely continued haphazardly tearing through my hair. The whole time she was talked loudly, being obnoxious. When I get to the chair to start the blow-drying process, she continued to harshly comb through my hair. I'd like to also note that she smelled badly (breath and body). When she began the process of the halo braid she did a part straight down the middle of my head, as if doing two braids. I showed her the picture of the style that I wanted and explained that I didn't want two braids. She stated that she knew what she was doing and continued the process. I knew that what she was doing was wrong but by this point I was seething from being disrespected, trying to determine how to handle the situation. When she finished the braids, it was two side braids, looked horrible. I told her that this was not what I wanted and that I showed her the picture. She the proceeds to tell me that I should have said something, trying to gaslight me. At this point one of the other stylists spoke up on my behalf, saying that she heard the whole conversation and that I did explain exactly what I wanted. She continues to try and lie, being rude and disrespectful the whole time. At one point, she told me that she wasn't talking to me when I interjected. I explained that I did not want her touching my hair and offered to pay the agreed upon price and leave. The stylist who quoted the prices said that I shouldn't have to pay for something that I didn't like. Another stylist offered to fix the style. She was nice and respectful and completed the halo braid. It seemed fine. I paid the agreed upon price and left. When I got home, the middle part, which was an eyesore was still there. One of my favorite sweatshirts was ruined. There was Black dye all over and down the back of my sweatshirt, it seemed almost purposeful. read more

Got Knotless box braids on Fri 1/29/21. Stacy did an Excellent job !! I have been getting compliments on my hair for the past few days. She was very gentle, as my scalp is sensitive. I asked that she not braid my baby hairs...and she did not touch them. There was Absolutely no pain or burning as she did my hair. I am still amazed. She did not slap a pound of that brown gel on my hair & all my braids are the same size, lol. The other 3 stylists in the salon were pleasant & engaging. They all seemed to genuinely enjoy what they were doing. Stacy answered all of my questions prior to my visit without hesitation. All the stylists were very Professional & their Customer Service was Top Notch ! The shop was clean...and yes they followed Covid Guidelines. They do play Gospel music... sooo as long as you dont mind a little music for your soul, then this is the place for you. I will definitely be back, so they have gained a new customer. I had a great experience with this salon today. Though I planned to make an appt for later in the day I was able to walk in earlier and wait around d until I could be seen. Upon arrival I noticed everyone wearing masks. All customers must wash hands and have temperature taken upon arrival. Chairs were being sanitized between customers. I saw comb attachments being washed between use. The place is spacious and had a nice ambiance. Everyone was pleasant and greeted you warmly even if they were busy working. The ladies seem to take pride and are serious about their work. I went for some feed in braids and left there extremely happy. Deloi was my stylist. She was amazing! I watched her braid the person before me and prayed she would be the one to style me. Everyone couldn't help but comment on how neat her braiding is. She was quick and gentle as she braided. I brought my own hair and pricing was reasonable in my opinion. All the ladies seem very talented so you can't go wrong. The place was not crowded when I got there but you can tell they get very busy based on all the calls the owner got and the number of people that came after me. Happy to see these ladies are at work after this pandemic shut everyone down. I will definitely be back and will recommend to anyone looking to get their hair braided. read more
