Went in for a allover color and June left the color on for almost 2 hours. She was working on 3 other people at the same time....lost SO much hair and scalp ended up being super irritated. She also talks on the phone while working which is so awkward as if the customer doesn't exist. I wouldn't go back or recommended anyone. My teenage daughter has gone to this salon on two occasions and left feeling completely satisfied with the services. She stopped by this morning to inquire about changing her hair and was asking questions regarding the bleaching process as she is not familiar with it. She was met with utter rudeness and disrespect, as the woman working in the front desk told her that her question was stupid. Moreover, she made a mention of how my daughter looks sad and not good emotionally. I refuse to allow my daughter to return there again to spend one single cent. I can't say enough good things about June. She put me on to tape in hair extensions and she is the master at color matching and install. My extentions lasted 7 weeks she taught me how to take care of them and when I had to have them reinstalled I was able to use the same hair. She takes her time and prioritizes her clients. I was on the hunt for a hair specialist/ colorist and I found Beenu. Let me start off by saying she's an amazing hair stylist and amazing person inside and out. She was very sweet and she asked questions every step of the way and told me about the procedure. It was four hours long and it went by quickly with her great company. She answered any questions I had along the way and she cut my hair and colored it beautifully. I will be coming back for more services. The salon is very amazing as well. I would come here again. Im taking a star for something petty that hopefully wouldn't happen again. My hair is curly and I wanted a quick trim and some shape. One woman cut it and then I waited for someone else to blow the dry. The woman who cut my hair proceeded to talk to her friend and put make up on in the mirror. My second visit to Selfie Style was not quite as satisfying as the first. The atmosphere of the shop is hectic rather than relaxing. Both times that I visited, Michael was eating while doing my hair. He apologized because he said that he didn't have time to eat lunch, but I still did not think that this was professional. I understand that a stylist can multitask, that while one client's color is taking affect, he can start on another customer. However, I felt that he kept coming back and forth many times until he finally handed me over to someone else for the blowout, so that he could finish with someone else. The color was fine and the blowout was adequate but I did not feel that I had the stylist's full attention at any point so I'll be going back to my first salon, where it's hard to find parking but once you're in the salon, you get the full attention of the stylist for every part of your cut and color. read more

Walked in to this place with full understanding that they do mostly reservations. The lady that addressed me at the counter asked me if I'd mind waiting but they had someone for me. No problem. I waited patiently for 30 minutes. Then I approached someone different at the counter to ask if she knew approximately how much longer. She said that the lady I had previously spoken to would be cutting my hair shortly. After about another 10 minutes a guy came over to me and told me that they miscommunicated amongst themselves and that it would another 45 minutes most likely before anyone would be available. I can't rate this establishment on how well they cut hair but the communication between the employees and a would-be customer was terrible. To be fair, all three of the employees that I spoke with were kind and professional in their demeanor. Maybe my experience was a fluke, however, because of the poor service I received I won't be returning to find out. read more

Holy cow. Junie is the best thing that has ever happens to me and my hair. She is lovely and kept me from basically shaving my head. Everyone and I mean everyone wanted to know where I did my hair. After an abysmal salon experience, however, I will never be back and I absolutely cannot recommend the salon to anyone else. I came in requesting my hair to be lightened all over one shade and brought photos of exactly what I wanted. What I ended up with was highlights that now look like a streaky mess and make me look like a raccoon. My stylist, June, would not listen and instead was bound and determined to give me balayage. She insisted that the look would be the same. It was not. Moreover, my entire experience with June was rushed and I was almost completely ignored for half of the visit. Case in point, she left me mid-shampoo in the sink with shampoo in my hair to go blow dry another client. She also took a personal phone call on her cell while putting in my toner. And because the hair washing experience was so hastily done, there was about a cup of water in my ears and dye all over my face. The service she provided was neither friendly nor courteous and it was clear she was not paying to attention to what I wanted. I will never be back. read more

Let me preface this review by saying that everyone at Selfie Style was nothing short of polite and accommodating. I wish that I could give a higher rating but, in truth, I was left with a hair color that makes me want to cry when I see myself in the mirror. I came in on Saturday the 28th with a mission: I wanted to get my bleached, highlighted blonde hair in line with my root color ("A dirty ash blonde," the stylist asserted looking at my roots. This surprised me because my natural hair has always been a light/medium brown, but I figured, they're the experts) I showed a couple of photos to my stylist, Camilo, of hair color I liked. They were all light to medium brown and had a balayage-y, soft highlight effect going on. I also showed a photo of what I absolutely did NOT want: chunks of blonde left over pooling at the ends, like an ombre. I said, "I want hair that is undoubtedly brown, not half brown half blonde, just brown with some highlight." Here is probably where we went wrong: I said, "I just want it like this but not sure whether to go warm or cool, and I don't want it to look weird with my roots growing out." Camilo said we're going to do a chocolate-y color because it'll add warmth without looking coppery. We were going to leave some of the highlight in. Satisfied with the game plan, he applied the dye and we chatted away. When it came time to wash out the color and style the hair, I was getting nervous. I had to remove my glasses for the entire process and was just now seeing how dark the result was, but told myself it was probably because my hair was wet. Camilo styled it into a beautiful, bouncy bob. It was so very soft and full of life, but all I could say was, "Why is it black?" He assured me it wasn't black, it was a brown that blended in with my roots. He handed me a mirror to take a look at the back. The cut was great, much better than what I had walked in with, but I thought I saw a blonde chunk on the back of the head. When I pointed it out, Camilo assured me it was just because of how the hair was laying. "Okay," I figured. Maybe it was just the lighting. The sun had already gone down. I felt the swift pang of disappointment in the pit of my stomach but paid ($120 for the haircut, dye, Olaplex, and tax for using a credit card) and left a tip. I caught an Uber home. The first thing my legally blind mother said to me was, "Why is your hair BLACK?? What is on the back of your head?" I ran to inspect in my room. Sure enough, among very dark tresses, was a very obvious, very random blonde chunk. I called the salon back and said that I was coming back because I needed this chunk removed. "Of course, come right back in." Camilo was polite as ever, without a hint of annoyance in his voice. "I will make time for you." I returned to the salon and he fixed up the chunk at the sink. I said I didn't want another blow-out because I was just going straight home, but he insisted to at least dry without styling because it was raining outside and he didn't want me to get sick. I was offered coffee multiple times during each visit. All in all, the staff was great and so kind. I was happy that he devoted time to me, but, the more I look at my hair, the more horrified I am at how dark it turned out. I don't understand how such a miscommunication could have happened when I came prepared with so many photos. I know that blonde hair really drinks in the dye, which is why I went to a professional salon instead of dyeing it out of the box myself. But the result that I got, well ... I haven't had hair this dark since a fourteen year old "goth" me decided to dye my own hair blue-black. I feel devastated every time I see myself and it's not because I was previously blonde (I only had the blonde for about two months after having my natural color the majority of my life). It's just so stark against my skin, so different from what I had envisioned going in, and I feel really dumb for paying so much for something so different from what I had wanted. I feel like I'm stuck with this hair and can't even begin to think of how to fix it without completely frying it. I happened to find this hair salon through yelp last July and I am so happy I took a chance on it! I made an appointment with June who is basically a hair guru. I showed her a picture of the type of honey blonde-brown (Chrissy tiegen) I was looking for and she nailed and then some. The best part is that the highlights and color has lasted months. I went to see her in October for a cut and again I walked out happy. Even though I don't live 5 minutes from the salon anymore, I will continue to go to her because she is skilled.
