We came in looking for a new chandelier for the dining room and this was the most fun I have ever had looking for something for the home. This was an all around special experience. Lucy had us work w/Shiloh, who was fun, engaging, asked the right questions, and worked with our needs. We pulled up pictures of our wallpaper and the paint colors for the dining room on the computer, and we gave Shiloh as many measurements as possible and from there we found our chandelier! We went through all of the rooms, and there were at least a hundred (maybe two!) different styles of lights in each of the rooms, and she could answer questions about all of them. Sure that's what she's there for, but she did it in such a way that she was confidant in her answers and really understood how each of the lights would work in a room. That's what we needed and she delivered. She made chandelier shopping so easy! I can't wait to go back when we start planning another room...

Alpha was fairly great from start to finish. The only issues I had were the times they were to…read moreshow up. For the measurement, the guy was about an hour and a half late, I had to call him on a Saturday morning and basically remind him to come over. For the installation itself, the guys were EARLY and complained to my wife that they had been waiting while she was in traffic coming home from work. That's why we set a time in advance, sillies. Other than that, it was a really great experience at what I considered a decent price point. $27 a square foot installed was the special they were running on some certain slabs (with a minimum of 40 sq ft). It's not like they were ugly ones that they just wanted to get rid of, we are enamored by the beautiful colors that come out of the slab we picked out. Now, that price didn't include a few things which at first I was a bit miffed at but after awhile, it made sense. Most people want to replace their sink, another $250. The cutout for it costs $200 and demo/removal costs another $200 unless you want to save on that and do it yourself. It all adds up so keep that in mind. All in all though, I ended up with granite counters in my galley kitchen for less than $2k, even after all of those pricing add-ons, which is going to significantly increase the resale value in a few years while we enjoy them in the interim. Don't forget to check-in at the store for another $50 off from Yelp! Everyone I dealt with at the store itself after going back numerous times for all that we wanted to pick out, get the quotes and pay the bill were really nice. The English of the installers wasn't the best but it's not like we had to deal with them for more than an hour while they were there. Pro tip - get your own plumber in advance for the unhooking and hooking back up of the faucets, they are likely cheaper than those offered by Alpha.

I would like to preface this review by stating I am a young homeowner who works very hard for her…read moremoney and to be able to invest in nice things. When paying for top quality, I expect top quality in terms of materials and in customer service, unfortunately, neither of which I received at Alpha Granite. I chose an expensive quartzite stone, and I was really excited about it. After spending two years renovating the first floor of my home these countertops were to be the icing on the cake. I paid just shy of $8,000 on these once beautiful countertops. Fast forward to installation day. The guys who did the install were very kind and meticulous. No complaints with the stone placement and install. I did ask them if there was anything I needed to know about caring for the stone. They assured me it was durable quartz and to just avoid placing hot items directly onto the surface. In the following weeks, almost immediately the stains started appearing. "Water rings" from anything containing oil. When I emailed asking for advice I was told they would try to help but that I should have done my "due diligence" as a customer. I found this to be insulting as I have cared for these surfaces, constantly wiping them down and making sure they look pristine. I felt like I was being blamed. Various oil is commonly used in the kitchen, and within a month there were 5 patches of SERIOUS stains. I tried to remove them with baking soda, putty, and nothing. They are there for good. I emailed alpha again and they offered me a "sealer" which costs $600 and that they would "look to see what could be done" about the stains. I was upset because at $8000, one would think the countertops would be protected from staining, especially since I asked if I needed to do anything specific for the quartz. I responded and said yes let's do that (the $600 sealer)... I was willing to do anything, even pay more to make this not keep happening. I was upset because I was never told about this sealing service before, I asked to speak to the business owner and he did return my call. He said he would "try to help" but he would have to order a special stain remover and he would call me back when it arrived. That was the last I heard from Alpha Granite. Never got a call back, follow up email, or even an apology. I have waited 8 months to see if they would ever get back to me and nothing. I have never written a negative review in my life but I am so disappointed as I feel like my $8,000 investment into the value of my home has been ruined beyond repair. I am just truly sad and would never wish this on anyone. If you are looking for countertops I would suggest you look elsewhere so this doesn't happen to you :(
