Cheesy name, great product. I just happened to respond to a promotional email I had received from Tofu Kung Fu T-shirts, and for the rest of my senior year, I ordered all my student groups' apparel from Leo and his crew. A few reasons why I love TKFTS: Leo is extremely thorough with the mock ups and goes above and beyond for his customers. One of my designs was hand drawn, and we unfortunately didn't have an electronic Illustrator file. Leo went ahead and recreated the entire design in Illustrator; that literally takes hours. We even made a mistake on the original design, and he went back to make the adjustment for us. Now that's what I call service! Prices are fairly competitive. While I'm sure I could've saved a few pennies from another vendor, all the time and effort put into reworking the design would've cost me more if I had hired an independent contractor. Lastly, when you work with Tofu Kung Fu, you're building a relationship that pays off in the long run. I was in a crunch for one order and needed a set of screen printed tank tops for a festival and Leo turned it around in under a week. As a preface, I would like to mention that I never actually got to order my apparel from the TofuKungFu due to conflicts regarding Columbia's vendor policy. However, despite being unable to actually order the product, I worked with the owner, Leo, weeks preceding my knowing of the Columbia policy. Leo was incredibly helpful and very tentative to my emails, never taking more than a couple of hours to respond to any of my questions. He also greatly helped us with our designs. He helped arrange the logos that were going to be on the t-shirt and made sure that everything looked great. Even when I told Leo of the unfortunate news, he took it professionally, in an understanding manner. I did, however, receive apparel from TofuKungFu for Columbia's Asian American Alliance and the sweatshirts came out great! There was even embroidering rather than the normal printing for our logo. The shirts themselves turned out really amazing! The quality of the t-shirts truly beats that of other custom t-shirt services, and the prices are cheaper as well (it came out to $489 for 60 t-shirts [$8.15/shirt]). I'm the secretary of the UChicago Taiwanese American Student Association, and we're selling these shirts to the UChicago community as a fundraiser, and it's been a huge success so far. The ordering process initially went really smoothly, and Leo was super helpful in helping us perfect the design for the t-shirt, explaining the process and cost, payment, etc. The ordering process was very fast, and within a week or two, the shirts were shipped. When the shirts were shipped, there was an issue with UPS, so the package was not delivered successfully. However, this was in no way the fault of TofuKungFu. What I did take issue with was Leo's way of dealing with this UPS problem. Upon receiving notification that the package was not delivered successfully, he attempted to call me 5 times, wrote an email to me, texted me 3 times, and messaged me through the TASA Facebook page, telling me that I needed to contact UPS. I know he was trying to be helpful, but this was honestly excessive. I told him I would call UPS in the next day or two and that I would reach out to him when we had any updates, to which Leo said OK, but it didn't stop there. When we hadn't contacted him by the next morning, he messaged and texted me, and proceeded to message me around every 2 hours to see if I had updates. Some might see this as Leo being proactive, and I know he had good intentions, but it was extremely bothersome, especially since he was messaging/texting very often while I was at work where I didn't have time to respond to him. We ended up resolving the UPS problem and the t-shirts turned out really great, but Leo's constant communication during the situation (and even after - when he asked me 3 times to write a review on Yelp) seemed unprofessional. Long story short, I would still order shirts from TofuKungFu in the future, but it was a bit of a nuisance to deal with some of the issues that arose. read more
