Were it not for Ben, this review would have been a 1-star review. We had unfortunately lost the key to our unit at Public Storage. We were scheduling a move and needed the lock opened in the morning prior to the movers arriving. We called and scheduled a locksmith. The price we were quoted was $55 plus a Yelp voucher deal. So... we were there on Sunday morning waiting for the locksmith. He arrived on time. He looked at the lock and quoted $150. Needless to say, I was rather taken aback. I told him about the phone call and price quote. This gentleman was, to put it mildly, an arrogant jerk. He spent a few minutes lecturing us about why we need to call and verify pricing. That self-righteous idiot perhaps had a moment of hearing loss when we told him multiple times that he had done so. We asked him to wait while we called the main line. He drove off anyway. (We later were told that this company has its own locksmiths Monday through Friday. However, they contract out to other locksmiths on the weekend. If Absolute Locksmith's management team is reading this, do yourselves a favor - find the idiot who you sent initially on Sunday morning and remove him from your system. You are not doing yourselves a favor by having someone like that on your staff. I would love a job in which I could interact with customers like he did with us. If I did that in my current job, I would probably be fired in short order. What a novel concept.) Anyhow, we still had made no progress on the lock. And movers were on the way. Thankfully, our call was transferred to a gentleman named Ben. He was very polite and respectful. He found another locksmith who could come out and open the lock, which happened. It took less than 3 minutes to drill the lock (seriously, the original locksmith wanted $150 for that??????!!!!!) The total price was slightly above what we were originally quoted, but nonetheless very reasonable. Had we not been able to move as scheduled, I would have made it my mission in life for at least he next 3-4 months to make Absolute Locksmith's life a living hell. Thankfully, we spoken with Ben. Ben, if you are reading this, thank you for your assistance. I hope you get a promotion. You are the sole reason why this review has 5 stars. read more

These guys are great. I had them cut in create programmable keys when we lost our last set. Ben came out on a weekend NFL playoff day, prompt and courteous, explained my options and the costs, and cut me a new set of masters. The cost for these programmable keys is expensive, but comparable to other quotes I received. I received a much lower quote from another company in the area but then wasn't able to get them to contact me back, so I guess you pay for dependable and reliable service. I use them to cut some replacement keys for my classic VW bug also, which most people can't do, or don't have blanks in stock. The people in the shop are courteous, and more straight forward than congenial, but it's a key shop, not a day spa. These guys (and gal) do good work. I don't wonder if the keys will work well. we always test amount, and it's convenient that it's a drive-through service. read more

Wow. All I can say is wow. My car key/fob has been needing to be taped for the last month or 2 and today it finally had its last round. :( I came here and Jennifer was very nice and gave me a quote off the bat ( which was cheaper than the dealership). Jennifer stated she would give her tech a call and call me back. Jennifer called and let me know the part was in stock and we were good too go. I arrived with my car key/fob ready to be fixed & Ben was such a delight. He was very kind, knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing. I can appreciate that considering I had a long, hard day today. It has been a very stressful day but thanks to Ben & Jennifer it got better. Great experience. I saw the van parked outside my neighbor's house. Home Depot made two sets of bad keys that didn't work. I've been putting off getting them replaced for some time, but I was hesitant to go back to Home Depot because I knew I would come home and yet again it wouldn't work. Anyways, I saw the van and approached the man inside, Ben, and asked him if he made keys. He said yes and that he would drop by my door when he was done with his current customer. Ben helped me with my "smart lock" which did not accept my Home Depot keys (well, they only worked with a lot of jabbing and wiggling). Anyways Ben took the time to explain the situation and shared what the whole smart lock thing was. He did not make me a new set of keys. Instead he fixed the lock. What a concept! So yes, very happy. Ben also kindly made an extra set of mailbox keys and walked to my mailbox with me to make sure it worked. I'm very happy and highly recommend. Courteous, kind, and honest. read more

When I moved into my new home in Laguna Niguel, I knew I had to replace all 6 of the locks. Ben arrived within 24 hours of my call and changed all of our keyed locks and helped me eliminate 5 unnecessary keys for the house and replaced them with just two. He supplied all of the necessary locks, while I was able to keep all the beautiful door knobs in place. On another I purchased a new exterior interior door knob set before Ben visited and my husband tried to remove and replace the broken door knob, but it was very tricky. Ben was able to install the new one in less than a half hour, on the same day I called. If you need somebody to help you and you're in a rush, he will be there to solve your problems. i have been wanting to get a fob key for my car for a long time. went to this place because it is super close to my house. went there, spoke with the woman and she clearly answered my questions. the technician, ben, was there within a few minutes. upon arrival, he was super friendly and informative about making sure my car was capable of getting a fob key (i only had the insert to the door kind of key). took maybe 30 minutes but he was super helpful and really cared. definitely recommend read more
