We just completed a "deep clean" of our home in the Altadena fire area. We used the services of Aeroscopic Environmental from start to finish. They handled both air and water testing, removal and replacing of insulation, pressure washing, meticulous cleaning of the interior and exterior of our house, garage, garden shed, and everything in between. They also repaired/replaced/repainted a redwood deck that was partially damaged in the fire. This is a well established company that has been in business for years. Their staff is friendly, compassionate, and very easy to work with. They communicate very well and take any concerns you may have into consideration. They were timely and completed our project in less than 2-weeks (not including laboratory analysis of air and water). A huge plus for us, was Aeroscopic's ability to work directly with our insurance carrier. They established a great relationship, which in turn made the process go much smoother. This whole fire experience has been terrible to live through. We hope we never have to experience it again. Had to use this company again after a leak from an above unit. Unfortunately, they splattered paint on unaffected walls and our wooden toilet. We had to get them to replace the toilet seat and requested they paint the splattered wall - they failed multiple times to return as promised to paint the splattered walls. In terms of the accuracy of the rest of the painting, there are spots along the wall edges and corners that are uneven, run over, or don't go to the edge. The corner of the wall behind the medicine cabinet was not painted, so they left a strip of wall a completely different color from the rest of the wall. There was also paint on the edges of the outlet covers, towel hooks and bathroom mirror. read more

After an earthquake and water intrusion, my condo had mold growing in the unit. Aeroscopic came in and performed a full and quality remediation of all the impacted areas. I passed the clearance report after the first remediation. I really appreciate all their hard work and time. I have lived through a black mold remediation in a different location, and it was awful. Aeroscopic was great to deal with. We had water flood through the front door of our house, warping the hardwood floor and penetrating the drywall. Fortunately Aeroscopic showed up with industrial fans and heaters which got rid of the moisture and and allowed the construction team to quickly begin repairs. Probably after reading the above, Alex called and said he tried but failed on 3/4 to reach me; he just got no answer. I don't understand how my answering system didn't work, but Alex seems very accommodating and arranged to come by tomorrow morning for a consultation. I'm happy to give him the benefit of any doubt and have upgraded his rating accordingly. SECOND UPDATE. It seems I was premature in upgrading my original one-star assessment. After examining the damage, Alex sent me an estimate on March 12--but since it did not reflect what he had told me, I elicited from him on March 13 a promise of a revised estimate. Despite two phone follow-ups, one picked up by a secretary at his office and another to his voicemail, I have not heard from him, as of today March 25. read more

Great company! We had a bad smell coming from our laundry room. Even after we thought we had cleaned it out, the smell was strong and persisted. They sent out the owner, Ian Spiszman, to help us because he likes that kind of detective work. He gave us some steps to take and started helping us while he was here. He found a leaking container of Draino on a shelf that we thought was all baskets and non toxic stuff. He told us the next steps to take to air it out and then called the next week to see how things were. They were fine! If we ever have any other problems with mold or toxic smells or other damage, we will only call Aeroscopic, nobody else. read more

Horrible, HORRIBLE experience with this company. Be warned... during times you may think they are handling your case, they may not be. Interdepartmental communication in this company is almost non-existent until you're frustrated enough to call and ask them what the status is. We've gotten responses such as, "You mean construction hasn't started yet?" or "Someone will maybe stop by tomorrow, I'm not sure." or "I forwarded your information to the next department, looks like they didn't get it." They also straight-up lie that they may be taking care of issues, but are not. Eventually our case was finished, but it took more than a month for them to complete their entire work. I feel like this is a company that only does what they need to do in order to get paid when they want. "Helping" people that are suffering water damage is not their main goal and I empathize with anyone that has to deal with Aeroscopic. read more

I have no doubt this company knows how to dry out a carpet from rain damage pretty quickly. HOWEVER, when they came to pick up their equipment, one or both of the workers helped themselves to some of my jewelry. Alex, who I believe is the owner, was supposed to talk with the men and get back to me with any information he had. I have not heard from him. I filed a police report but getting my jewelry back is not looking good. Since they were the only people in my place when the jewelry went missing, I must assume it was one or both of them. My girlfriend was concerned about having any mold at our condo wall which has outer cracks and rain water leeks into it. We called our building manager and he said there is a mold guy in the building and he'll send him up to take a look. The guy comes in, without giving us a price or the general procedures, takes a couple of pictures and says they will contact us. We even told him not to do anything without getting our approval on the costs... next thing we know we receive a rather large bill which quickly escalates to a demand for payment with accruing fees and penalties! We called them numerous times and told them to at least give us the mold test results so we get something for what we are being asked to pay for.... I hired this company to renovate an apartment after a long period of neglect and abuse. They came promptly. They offered very competitive prices. They did not try to "up sell" the job and performed as promised. They replaced flooring, plumbing, removed old fixtures and created a nice shower stall. "Great Company" If you knew my family backstory, you would understand why I am practically writing an thesis here. But when it comes to the health and well being of my family, I will go to the ends of the earth for them. I won't go into detail here about that so let's just stick with my review of the company. I called on a Sunday morning. The answering service took the call. They were very professional and the operator gave me the impression she knew the business well. She addressed my concerns for a backyard patio deck. Within a few hours, Ian ("eye on") the owner and chief specialist called me personally. We scheduled an appointment for the next morning. He showed up right on time. I can't express how happy I am with my decision to make a call to Aerscopic. Several other home improvement service companies came up in my Google search. They are tech savvy with domain names, SEO and location based keyword searches. They appear to be local, but when you lookup the actual company location, they are hundreds of miles away. That is bad way to begin any transaction in my opinion. I found a company called Burbank Mold Remediation. From the looks of the website it's as if they are in your community, when in fact they are not. I live in Burbank, CA. BTW. Most of Los Angeles is within a 20 mile radius. So Glendale was a super close. Local to me was a big bonus. But I'd hire them no matter where I lived after having my experience with the Owner, Ian. Aeroscopic is a honest company. Ian was friendly and very knowledgeable. He made my worries disappear in the first 10 minutes of our consultation. [If you've done a google search for Black Mold, then you can understand how scary it all seems.] Ian explained why I shouldn't worry, and even reccomended lower cost effective alternatives then what I requested for testing. I just wanted to be sure I told him! But he was right in the end. Our patio didn't have the "Black Mold" commonly found through online searches. Regardless he took samples, photos and sent me a follow up email with his lab report. Then another email came back with the lab culture results. My wife wanted to understand the results and Ian took 45 minutes with her to discuss our options. Let me also say that he was very upfront about disclosing the conflict of interest of being both a company that tests, and provides remediation and/or removal & construction services. But I am good judge of character. He looked me in the eyes and told me his position. I could tell he was someone who could be trusted. That's huge. We replaced the wood with Concrete and I couldn't be happier. I rarely feel obligated to write reviews, but in this case, I felt compelled. Ian is an expert in his field. To boot the company was founded by his Father. I also thought that spoke volumes of his commitment to service to our community as well as showing respect and honor to his Father.
