    Repaired issue
    Teagan K.

Brad is THE guy to call if you want it solved ASAP. I am a new business and cannot afford down time. Brad was out the next day to find my problem (a snapped drain pipe) and get it fixed so quickly that I didn't even have to warn customers I may need to reschedule. He also found another way to the issue rather than tearing apart the interior of my mobile salon. He communicated effectively, established expectations and executed the solution on site. You will not be disappointed!

From…read morebeginning, with scheduling, to finishing, with my issue being fixed, I had a five-star+ experience. Everyone was so helpful with amazing communication. Andrew, my electrician, was extremely thorough with explaining the process, step by step, of what he was doing - keeping me in the loop. He located the issue, fixed it, even making sure to take preventative measures for the surrounding area. The price was very fair as well! Andrew was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and extremely neat! Hands down, I would highly recommend ECO Electric for all your electrical needs!

My husband called Eco Electric because two outlets in our kitchen were not working. We expected to pay the standard service call fee, which was around $60 and possibly, if needed, $289 diagnostic fee. The electrician, Andrew "Drew", arrived and my husband explained the problem. Andrew gestured toward an area of the kitchen and said the issue was probably there, referring to where the GFCI outlet was located. However, before performing any diagnostic work or even checking the outlet, he had my husband sign an agreement authorizing a $289 diagnostic charge. Andrew then stepped outside, came back in, walked directly to the area he had pointed out earlier, moved a medicine box that was blocking a GFCI outlet we didn't even realize was there, and simply pressed the reset button. The outlets immediately started working. At that point, my husband asked if the diagnostic charge was still necessary since the problem had already been resolved. Andrew told him the charge still applied because he had already signed the paperwork, even though the issue had been fixed before any actual diagnostic work had taken place. That is what left us feeling misled. Our concern has never been about paying for honest work or a legitimate diagnostic. Our concern is that we were asked to authorize a $289 diagnostic fee before basic troubleshooting was performed, and once the simplest possible fix restored power, we were still expected to pay the full diagnostic charge simply because the paperwork had already been signed. Andrew seemed like a nice person, but that doesn't change how the process was handled. I don't know whether the technicians are paid on commission or another type of incentive, but as a customer, the process felt dishonest and misleading. My husband later spoke with Bill, who I believe was the manager or someone in a supervisory role. Unfortunately, my husband found him dismissive and defensive of the complaint. He didn't seem interested in truly listening and even interrupted my husband before he had finished explaining what had happened. To Bill's credit, he said he would speak with Andrew to hear his side of the story and call my husband back. When Bill called back, he did agree to reduce the charge by $100, which we appreciated. During that conversation, my husband explained that, going forward, their technicians should provide a more thorough explanation and perform basic troubleshooting before asking customers to authorize expensive diagnostic charges. Otherwise, the process can leave customers feeling misled and can come across as deceptive. What was especially disappointing was reading the comments Andrew entered on our invoice afterward. He (Bill or Andrew) wrote that the customer "was not happy with having to pay for the diagnostic" and that he "wouldn't be able to work with him again." That is simply not an accurate representation of what happened. Our complaint was never about paying a fair diagnostic fee. Our concern was the lack of communication, the order in which things were handled, and the misleading process. We were asked to authorize a $289 diagnostic charge before the most basic troubleshooting step--checking and resetting the GFCI outlet--was even attempted. Once that button was pressed, the outlets worked immediately. We appreciated the $100 reduction, but that doesn't change how this experience was handled or how our concerns were documented afterward. As veterans, my husband and I expect honesty, transparency, and integrity from the companies we hire. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of those expectations, and we will not be using or recommending Eco Electric in the future.

If you check my other reviews you'll notice there are hundreds of good reviews and only a sprinkle of bad ones. I feel that every business is entitled to a bad day or a random one off bad experience with a customer, and I'd rather use my yelp platform to help businesses and community succeed. With that said, here was my experience with Modern Electric, and I'll leave it to the clients to decide whether or not to choose them or go a different route. My regular electrician was out of town when an emergency came up at a property I rent out. I contacted Modern Electric about an electric line to a water heater that wasn't working. We noticed that it was actually burned a little and my handyman said that it looked like the circuit wasn't installed right from the beginning and was overloading. They said I would need a professional electrician because we would most likely need to run a new line to get it up to code etc. I will say that the man I spoke to responded quickly and was able to come out almost right away which was very nice, and the reason he is getting 2 stars instead of 1. He didn't inform me of any service fee, but I assumed there would be one anyway and with previous electricians I was prepared to spend between $75 and $100 just for the call itself and then whatever the cost to re-do whatever needed to be re-done. The person I spoke with and texted with did not give me a quote on the service call. In fact, no mention of payment was ever discussed prior to him going to the house. 5 minutes after he got there he texted me that we only needed a new water heater and just the little wire could possibly be replaced if I wanted, but I would need to have the water heater installed first (it's an electric water heater) and then he left. This didn't seem right but i took his word for it anyway and called my plumber. When my plumber got out there to inspect the area for a new heater, he said that we absolutely need a new line because the old one was very clearly on the wrong amps (or whatever it's called) and most likely would need a new line run from the main breaker in order for it to be up to code. He said he obviously can't install an electric water heater without proper electricity, so the line needed to be done first. This is essentially what my handyman said as well, and since Modern didn't seem to know what to do, or was unwilling to do it, I ended up calling another electrician to complete this work. After all this I was still willing to pay for the service call as I believe people should be paid for their time. I was the one who had to reach out to him to have him send me an invoice. He then told me it would be $160. I was STILL willing to pay this, but I thought I'd tell him my feedback instead of writing a bad review about it. I told him that $165 is a lot more than others charge and that he was actually wrong about what needed to happen. He responded with hostility and told me to never contact him again. Please see pictures of his response. Do I think he probably does a good job with simple things like ceiling fans or light fixtures? Sure. But if you have something a little more complex I would caution you to go somewhere else. I will also say here that his service call fee is $160 since it's listed no where online and he doesn't tell you up front how much it will be. He also told me to "keep the money, I don't need it." So he obviously doesn't need any new business and doesn't care to make a new or returning clients out of anyone because he's so very much booked and blessed. Best to go somewhere else where they do need the business, as they might take better care of you.

We even fueled the unit ourselves, since we have access to diesel fuel, because their per gallon rate was ASTRONOMICAL! so the $165 rental fee turned into $957 for literally a 4hr event. Plus, they are not willing to match or be competitive in pricing. Yes I know we are not a construction site renting tons of equipment, but don't belittle the businesses that aren't. 1 Yelp review can easily tarnish your reputation locally, and as I found out, this business isn't very competitive, because 2 other companies in town didn't seem to care to respond either. so businesses large and small beware. definitely will not be using them again.

If the business doesn't operate on weekends then the hours on Yelp should be adjusted accordingly. ******************************************* I truly wished to have the same positive experience as the five-star ratings, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. On Friday, June 13th, I reached out to Fixin Dixon Mobile RV through a message on YELP regarding an issue with my shower, which was spurting water due to a cracked plastic piece. Bill responded quickly, provided his cell number, and suggested I contact him on Saturday morning. Sounds great, right? That's what I thought! Since we were out of town and I was attending an all-day conference, my husband stepped in to reach out. He left a voicemail, and Bill eventually returned the call to schedule a time to inspect our shower. We arranged for him to come on Thursday, June 19th. During the visit, Bill informed my husband that he would check a few places for a replacement part. My husband followed up on Friday, June 20th, only to hear that Bill had been unable to find the part and would look at Home Depot. He mentioned that we might need to replace the entire shower faucet, but we haven't heard from him since, and now it's Monday, June 23rd. I don't mind waiting, but a lack of communication from a business is frustrating. In short, my husband managed to find a temporary part while we look for a more reliable service.
