We showed up pretty late around 1 AM and the hotel staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He explained everything to us with a informational sheet and offered water as I waited for my husband to park. There is a parking garage close around the corner. The tickets need to be validated to use to exit the garage and it is $30/night. The room was nice and the thermostat worked well. The door to the bathroom does need to he fully open and not halfway because nearby room doors closing does rattle it. And it is easy to hear footsteps above you. We had our breakfast included (not sure if we had actually paid when booking) but we were given vouchers to use daily. It is a sit down and they provide either a European buffet or entree order options (omelette, waffle and another item I can't quite recall). The buffet does order also a complimentary option of scrambled eggs or an open face sandwich with egg, prosciutto, cheese and arugula which was actually quite good. The buffet options are kind of limited - oranges and apples, oatmeal, some cereal, small muffins and fruit and juices. Staff was always very friendly and we didn't have any issues. read more

The AC Hotel Boston Cambridge is an excellent choice for people traveling to Boston, particularly those in town to visit universities in the Cambridge area. It sits within an office park sort of area just off the highway (we didn't hear any noise from that in our room), with a nearby parking garage. The hotel is clean, and it offers a restaurant for a European-style breakfast buffet (we didn't partake in that, but it looked fine) as well as a bar. There's a fitness center as well as an indoor pool, which we used once (the water was a bit cooler than we would have liked, but it was fine). The lobby has hot coffee and tea in the morning, which changes to fruit-infused water in the afternoon and evening. Every staff member we interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful. I didn't partake at the bar, but I overheard many interactions while working nearby and the staff there seemed very friendly as well. The room we had included a King bed and a sofa bed, a desk area, a refrigerator... one thing missing was a stand to put your luggage on, but that's likely because there really wouldn't have been any space for it since there wasn't any large amount of open space. It wasn't a big deal, ultimately, and we thought the room was nice. The biggest benefit here, though, was the convenience related to Boston's mass transit system. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to the Alewife Station, which sits at the end of the red line. The red line has stops along the way for several different universities in Cambridge, so for our campus tours it was incredibly straightforward to get to the campuses. The red line goes straight into the heart of Boston as well: we visited the downtown area twice, both times just jumping one stop over to the orange line to get to things like Quincy Market, the farmer's market and the Freedom Trail. One thing to note is that there aren't really any convenient food options that don't require driving, and the design of the roadways in the vicinity require a bit of looping around to get back and forth. Not a deal breaker by any means, but it's something worth noting. Overall, I think this is a great hotel for people visiting the area who don't want to pay through the nose for a hotel in the actual downtown areas. I am back at the A/C Hotel in Cambridge that is splendidly located next to a park here you can stroll for a breeze. I always feel at home here because the staff is so friendly and helpful. The breakfast has a European touch with some Spanish frittata, croissants and plenty of red fruits. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. Parking is also so conveniently located. Two hours later the belt has been stolen right off my jeans and no one in the whole chain of command will do anything about thieves in their own staff. We stayed here for two nights before the start of our cruise. The hotel was nice and clean. The hotel was within walking distance of the Alewife/red line. Our first night we did have dinner in the bar - service was lousy and so was the food that was served. The staff is nice and everything is really clean and neat. BUT after calling TWICE to confirm they had a pool the staff was NEVER COURTEOUS enough to tell me the indoor was SALTY even after I mentioned that I would be staying to bring my kids to swim. My kids did not like the pool so we did not have a great time (the pool was the reason for our stay here). Also, I kept being woken up by banging outside, not sure where the noise was coming from, but it happened several times throughout the night. After calling on 8-18 to complain about not being told about the pool "Mike the manager" told me that was my problem, that they don't advise ANYONE that the pool is salty. The best part is this hotel is the $18 pp breakfast buffet. Till 11am on weekends n 10am on weekdays W nespresso coffee n eggs to order. Cheese plate, cereals n hot oatmeal n fresh fruit, juices, etc. you'll definitely be stuffed. There's a bar that opens at 5pm. I recommend the smoked Manhattan. Perfectly balanced n smoky. The rooms are super clean n spacious. There's a laundry area, n ice maker area has mi microwave do you can pop the popcorn. It's 13 min from Tuft university. The staff is super friendly. Bottled water is free! Just ask the front desk. It's pet friendly. I'll definitely come back n stay just for the breakfast Parking is like $25:day I think. You can go in n out as many times. This was a good location for people visiting Cambridge. It's a bit further from Boston so it's probably not an ideal place to be to visit Boston if you plan to use Lyft/Uber or taxis to get around. In terms of driving, there is a parking garage located adjacent to the hotel with plenty of parking. Typical traffic weekday morning traffic in the area does seem heavy so account for a little more time to get to where you are going from this hotel. It is about a 1/2 mile from the Alewife T station. The room was modern and efficient in design. Our room was clean and everything worked well. The only caveat that I had was that the shower was a little difficult to use with one knob used to adjust water temperature and the other knob used to switch between water coming out of the fixed and handheld showerheads read more

Better than most AC hotels I have stayed in. It is very convenient location to many office buildings nearby which is why I selected this property to stay in.. Close enough to Logan airport (25 mins w/o traffic). Staff makes this property GREAT. They are very accommodating and service oriented. They even have a text service and check in on you periodically to ensure you are having a good stay. Love this level of service, makes you feel welcome. Reason for 4 and not 5 stars is that if you stay 2 nights, they DO NOT do any room cleaning - they didn't mention this until you check in and tell you that 3 or more nights has housekeeping but not less. They give you fresh towels and remove trash on demand but I was a little thrown back without this being mentioned prior to check in. Otherwise, pleasant stay. read more

**This review is mainly based on service** To be honest, this place is alright. I wouldn't even say it's the place to stay, and if I had a choice I wouldn't stay here and would opt to stay in a residence inn instead. First off, you had to pay for valet service and the valet service was less than par. And I would know because we stayed here for 12 nights. Originally it was going to be 19, but because they didn't know what the hell they were doing we decided to switch hotels. So what happened? I'm going to give you the whole story and you can decide for yourself if you want to read my tale. If not, there's a TLDR at the end. Coming in, I didn't have a business credit card as I was starting a new job. I used my personal credit card as a retainer as far as any expenses. This AC Marriott starting holding expenses, at first it was $300 or so on the day I checked in. Then, during my stay they started putting $1200, $1400 charges on my card as retainer. When I went downstairs and asked the front desk they said that they had no idea and that this was the first time they were seeing it. They assured me that it wasn't going to be charged and that it wouldn't be more than my total bill for my stay. Well, you guessed it: it did. What this does is basically freezes the amount of credit from your credit card. If my limit wasn't high enough I would've been screwed. This was a shitty practice. When I did receive my credit card, since I was staying there, I changed it to my business credit card thinking that my charges would be dropped from my personal credit card. Nope. It didn't, until after many days of talking to the manager at the hotel. They couldn't even bill me the right invoice until weeks after I stayed there. Not only did they not correctly do the invoice the first time, they split up my stay into two invoices. It made absolutely no sense. Other than that, the stay was okay. The room had absolutely no storage, so don't stay here if you're here for a while. If it's just for a night it's okay. It's a very modern decor with minimalist design. So yeah, no cabinets and it's all open storage. TLDR; This AC Marriott doesn't know how to do long stays or invoicing in general. If you're here for a couple nights you'll probably be fine. If you're here longer, I suggest you to go elsewhere. Rooms are okay, but there are definitely better elsewhere. read more

If you're visiting Boston on vacation, this is not a great location! Too far away and Uber rides will cost you a small fortune! The room was nice & spacious and it was clean however, be aware that they only clean the room every other day if your only staying three nights. We had to ask for towels. The room had very little storage & no safe but it did have a refrigerator. You will pay for overnight parking and there is no valet however, if you have a handicap pass, there are a few handicap spots right in front of the hotel entrance that you can use for no cost You will also have to bring your luggage to your room and to your car when you leave. They have free coffee service in the lobby which is nice. The tv had many movie & sports channels that were not connected. This hotel is definitely suited for business travelers & not for vacationers. read more

I wanted an affordable hotel in Boston and I found good reviews about AC. Therefore I decided to give it a try. I have to say, though, that I am writing this review based on the rate that I paid, and that was around $150/night. So, it is a very good value for the money. The hotel is new, the service is good, the T station (that is the subway) is 10 minutes away, parking is $10/night (a bit more expensive for valet). A ride to downtown Boston is approximately 25-30 minutes and costs $2.75/one way. The room was spacious and I liked the smart TV which allows you to log in your own Hulu or Netflix if you are missing your favourite shows. Internet is free for everybody. The breakfast is nice and yummy, I personally liked it a lot. For $16/person you can have a nice European/Spanish inspired buffet, including fresh omelette and freshly baked (in house) croissant. read more

I believe that I got a good deal since this is a new hotel. It is an upscalish hotel and I paid about the same price as a red roof inn or a B&B in the same area. I was in town for the India conference at Harvard university. I looked to book two nights for the weekend. But the cheapest I could find was about $60 per night and that was a bit far from the Cambridge campus and it came with a shared bathroom. I wanted to stay closer to the campus since the event starts very early in the morning. Found this place on Hotwire and it was about $80 per night before taxes. The room was wonderful and the staff were friendly. The decor was very stylish. I must say that it was one of the best hotel rooms I stayed in, so far. Then again, I usually choose very economical and budget friendly hotels. I paid an additional $18 for the valet parking which I would not have done if I was not feeling exhausted that night. Also, breakfast is not included, it is an additional $16 for the buffet. I did not try it, so no comment. read more

This hotel is really cute and trendy. I really liked the decor, unfortunately that's about the only positive I can say. I arrived quite late and did not receive an upgrade even though I am Marriott platinum and there were upgrades available via the website. Fine, I was alone and didn't really need the space. I have never in my life experienced a more uncomfortable bed. It was hard as a rock. To compliment the hard as a rock bed we're the fluffiest pillows known to man. I prefer a flat pillow and am used to a selection. I spent each night trying to get comfortable in the horrible bed while squishing the pillow, throwing it off the bed and trying again repeatedly. Service was acceptable, some staff had better customer service than others. The real thing that made me deduct star from this trip was the lack of coffee. I was informed at check in that breakfast was 630 weekdays and 7 weekends. I didn't really pay attention because I wasn't planning on having breakfast. Apparently they don't make coffee until breakfast is ready. Never in my life have I stayed in a hotel that does not have morning coffee. It's completely unforgivable. I was on west coast time and was expected to be in the lobby for a conference shuttle at 7:15 daily. This meant waking up at 3:15 CA time which REQUIRES coffee. My in room coffee maker did not work so I went downstairs for coffee around 6:30 Saturday morning desperate for coffee. There was no offer to make coffee or replace my broken coffee maker. There were literally 40 angry guests that morning looking for coffee. It's such a simple thing that was overlooked so I can not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

First stay in the AC Marriott Boston (Cambridge) , nicer than expected and one of the cleanest Marriott properties I've seen, inside & out. Friendly staff from the front door, all servers and staff. Exercise room was small, hotter than it should have been with DB's up to 50#, core / plyo balls and a multi-complex machine that needs a tune-up. Rooms were very well maintained, quiet and AC was great despite the 90 degree heat. Beds not courtyard comfortable but not bad. Big hit for the (too typical) flashing green light on the fire system that was annoying as hell for a dark room sleeper. I'll be back. read more

WORST HOTEL Ive ever been to. In the middle of the night there was overly loud construction that woke me up. I could hear the laundry running and the walls are paper thin. At 8am i couldnt bear the noise anymore so I went downstairs and spoke to Josh the supervisor. He didnt seem to care and was very unapologetic towards the situation and told me there was nothing that could be done about it. I go back to my room and was getting ready to leave and found a huge bug in the bathroom. I immediately go downstairs and tell the front desk Christina and she was very sarcastic and rude towards me, followed me to my room, squished the bug and said "any more bugs?" If i knew there was bugs I wouldnt stay here. Instead of apologizing for the situation they made me feel very uncomfortable. Ive written an email to the general manger to compain because this is really unacceptable customer service. Paid $200 for one night and it was a terrible experience. read more

Housekeeping knocks on the door like the police, incessantly, even after I tell them I don't need service. Maybe a doorbell or a call to the room? There is no room service. I have to order seamless from a hotel, a hotel? More like a motel or econolodge? No guest slippers and a dirty floorboard floor, no carpet. Sink was broken and water didn't drain when I checked in. And they still haven't fixed it, days later. If I'm old enough to get a hotel room, and they have my ID on file, why would the bar make me go to my room to get an ID and prove my age again?! I stayed here for a conference in Harvard Square. Price was relatively low considering it was Columbus Day weekend, but I think this was because the hotel had just recently opened (on 10/1/16). Location is convenient to Alewife T stop (about a 6 minute walk), but for a first time visitor walking from the stop, it can be confusing to get to the hotel. Signage would be ideal, if possible. There's a shortcut patch through a little nature reserve, but I'm not sure how comfortable some people would be going that way late at night. Check-in was great. Very friendly staff who accommodated my very early arrival (at around 8 AM). Breakfast buffet was excellent, with attentive and gracious wait staff. Room was very stylish and clean. However, climate control system didn't work that well. Highest temp that I could set was 74, but since the thermostat seemed to think the room was always 78-80 degrees (when in fact it felt more like 72-74), it would always be blowing cool air. Turning it off completely was actually comfortable, so I didn't complain about it at the time. Fitness center was well-equipped. Pool, however, was pretty useless--way too small to do any kind of exercise or even recreational swimming. Probably only useful for kids. It would be more effective if the pool were made into a big hot tub. Wi-fi was fast enough. I didn't use the TV during the stay. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for visitors to Cambridge. read more

I got walked here from another Marriott the first night at 2 in the morning. Mehnam was able to get me squared away and into a bed quickly, which was amazing after traveling for 12 hours due to delays. The room is clean and pretty spacious. The king bed is comfy, pretty much like all the other Marriott beds. They are due to start construction soon though in the near future (summer 18) Would stay here again. read more

We stayed here for one night. The place is nice and modern. I very much enjoyed the simple decor. My complaints are mainly around the service. Because of some work, their parking was not available. Therefore, our only option was valet. In addition to additional unexpected costs, the main sad event that occurred was that we left some snacks in the car, and they disappeared the next morning. It was our fault as well since they do have a sign saying that they are not responsible for anything left in the car, but it shouldn't be an excuse for them to take what's not theirs and for that reason it was not a pleasant experience. read more

When we are arrived we were told there was no parking and you HAVE to pay the valet-which is not cheap. The front desk folks are completely condescending when you need something. The good the bad and the ugly. Basically this is a really nice hotel. I like the cleanliness, the lack of carpeting is actually a benefit in the room. It feels clean. Refrigerator wasn't working correctly so water leaked out into the top drawer below it. Room was shadowy. Not enough lighting. Especially if you're there for business. The staff was excellent. Arved who checked us in did a great job. He actually offered to come upstairs and fix the refrigerator! Really good service. Finally, the pool was a joke. I think they have a pool because they say they will have a pool but they don't care how big or small the pool is. It's useless. It looks like it could get dirty really quickly as well. There's no room for laps and most importantly it makes the folks who booked the room because of a pool at the property feel "taken". Not smart. I have to say I did sleep well. read more

Our company's travel agency booked my stay here because it's close to the Cambridge office. Pros: -Gorgeous, modern, sleek design. I think I'm going to renovate my home shower to look exactly like the one in my room. -Super comfy beds with lots of pillows. -Exceptional service. Everyone is friendly and goes out of their way to make you happy. -Close to the T -Despite not having a full service restaurant, breakfast and evening bar food options are excellent -Truly high-speed wifi -Gym and pool Cons: -No onsite parking. You can self-park in a garage about a block away for $10/day or pay for valet service. -Right on Rt. 2, so guests on that side of building have to keep their curtains closed or be ogled by commuters, even on the 4th and highest floor. On the whole I highly recommend this hotel and hope to stay here again if the opportunity arises. read more

At 8am as I laid in bed watching tv waiting for my 4yo niece to wake up I heard the door open and in walks housekeeping no knock no door bell ring! Just walks right in and turns around not saying a word. I put that door stopper thingy on. I didn't realize it wasn't on. But I did have the DO NOT DISTURB sign up which was blatantly ignored. Fast forward a couple hours it's 10:52am and I tell my niece to use the bathroom before we head out. Housekeeping again attempts to come in NO knock but I now have the door stopper on. I tell the front desk what happened and her response was "I'm not sure who is working that floor but thanks for notifying me" no apology and very insincere. I stayed at the AC this past week and for starters it was much cheaper than the other hotels in Cambridge. It is in a random part of town as my uber drivers got lost a few times but it's about a 12 min ride to Harvard so close. Hotel is new and clean. The thing I like about the rooms are they don't have carpets so you can actually see if the floors are clean or not and they were. They were minimalist in their furniture design but smart as in they have a ton of outlets and different lighting (bed reading lights to desk ones). Bathroom shower is either a rain one or hand held so the only tricky thing was figuring out how to turn the shower off entirely. Word of warning they don't carry lotion so if you rely on hotel toiletries you best pack yours. Will definitely stay again next time I am in town. read more

I recently stayed here with two of my rowers during Head of the Charles. Our experience was smooth and pleasant from start to finish, which was appreciated since that weekend is such a crazy one for Boston. The hotel itself was very new with a silver/grey aesthetic and smartly-dressed, courteous staff. The lobby had a bar area with a pretty breakfast room off to one side. We ate there one morning and the food and service were great, albeit a bit pricey. Our room was large and well-equipped (king bed and pullout sofa) and not too cold. My one quibble was that I would have appreciated a slightly more central location, since that would have made taking an Uber less time-consuming and confusing. That's not the fault of the hotel however, and I would most likely stay here again if I didn't need to get somewhere in a hurry or walk everywhere. read more
