I checked in on July 31 and Larry at the front desk said there would be a hold for incidentals on my card (which I'm aware of due to many hotel stays) and a charge for parking. That evening I logged into my account to pay bills and noticed that my account was overdrawn. I checked and saw that I had been charged $414.40 which was way more than my stay and I IMMEDIATELY called the front desk and was told that I would have to wait until the morning to get help. I waited until the morning (August 1) and went to the front desk and they knew who I was and told me "It's not much we can do sorry!" I said: "That's unacceptable. I have to get my daughter to her track meet and with my account overdrawn I'm unable to get gas." They said they would relay this to their manager and get back to me. I never heard back from a manager. Tuesday (August 2) as I was getting dressed I was putting on my shoes and noticed there was a roach on the cooler and I didn't want to believe it but sure enough in all it's glory it was having the time of it's life. I went to the front desk and informed them and they said pretty much nothing. I contacted corporate and was supposed to receive a call back the same day but nope I didn't. I received an email telling me I'd hear from accounting in 3-5 business days. It didn't take you 3-5 business days to take money from my account. I'm highly disappointed in the Marriott.

Boutique hotel located about two miles from downtown. I came here for a work trip. I was immediately drawn to the modern decor of the hotel. The lobby included a bar, store, sitting area, and computer workstation. My room had an unconventional layout but was still nicely decorated and spacious. My only two complaints were the TV did not have many channels let alone the Bravo channel. My second complaint was the cleanliness of the bathroom or lack there of. The shower was obviously not cleaned and a gross clump of hair was sitting on top of the drain. Disappointing.

Boutique style hotel with decent amenities and even better employees. The staff was great and helpful. Loved the bathroom set up and the walk in shower.

I stayed here for three days , Dec 23-26, so I was here for Xmas the staff was awesome, super helpful and dog friendly!!! Lexus got treats everyday. They have spare dog beds and dog bowls this is the dog friendliest hotel I have stayed at !!! The room is super fun and has a bean bag it as well as a nice shower and a small desk to work from. The bed was comfortable , I sleep great. There is a small bar which the bartender Travis is awesome . There is breakfast but you have too pay 8-9 dollars, the first two days it was good but my last day the breakfast was yummy , it was obviously the first two days the cook did not care but today the cook made up for it. Fun vibe

Super cute hotel. Nice things within walking distance. There is entertainment certain nights. But, check your mattress. I found a horrible stain on one of the beds and reported it in the morning just to inform the front desk. He told me that was why the pad was on the bed, to cover the gross stain! The stain is alot darker than shown In the picture. I can't believe that they would be okay with putting a cover up on a stain like that.

    Solid amenities

Stayed one night here in the summer when business is slow because UNC students are away and got a good deal on Priceline. A bit hard to find the entrance but no big deal. Front desk staff were helpful and the room was stylish and well appointed. Parking is available in the deck nearby. I will definitely look to stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.

This incredible space welcomes guests entering Full Frame Theater, as well as sometimes its neighbor, The Power Plant Gallery. We hung out at "The Loft" bar and lounge on the 3rd floor which I believe is 25-and-up only. The Loft is like a covered rooftop patio with outside views on three sides, none of which face Franklin St directly, unfortunately. But still, it's a cool, sleek spot with a nice-looking bar, white couches, and high-tops. We stayed up in The Loft and never went downstairs where, presumably, the main club and dance floor are located. As we drove down Franklin St to get here, after 11pm on a Saturday night, we saw a line of what looked like undergrad-aged kids waiting to get in. So, I'm not sure what the atmosphere was like downstairs, but things were very "mature," chill, and relaxed upstairs. I didn't feel like I was on Franklin Street in downtown Chapel Hill. We parked for free in the James Wallace Parking Deck, accessible behind Still Life via E Rosemary St. The deck is next to "Amber Alley," which connects the back side of the buildings to Franklin St. On the deck side of the alley, our big group (who had a connection and called ahead) literally got red carpet treatment. Our IDs were checked and we were given wristbands to access The Loft. We took the glass elevator up and down and there were stairs too. Parking in the Wallace Deck was free because we parked outside the hours of operation: 8am-8pm, Monday-Saturday except holidays. According to Still Life Chapel Hill's Instagram page, their rooftop-only soft opening was July 8 and their entire-venue grand opening is two weeks from today on Friday, August 19th: https://www.instagram.com/stilllifeunc/. Currently, there is another Still Life location in Greenville (NC): https://www.yelp.com/biz/still-life-greenville-6. And there used to be a Still Life in Raleigh: https://www.yelp.com/biz/still-life-nightclub-raleigh. I believe this space used to be The Strowd (https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-strowd-chapel-hill) and before that, the Players club (https://www.yelp.com/biz/players-chapel-hill). When my friends were undergrads at UNC, they came to Players. Yep, we're old. Anyway, we had a good time at Still Life and I think this is a club worth checking out. Also, the bartenders were nice and the espresso martini I tried was good. Well made, and nice and strong.

The cookery looks great from the outside: color mural on its side-wall, fancy metal, grillwork up front along with a cool sign are the only hints of what lies inside. For this charity dinner they had a bunch of long tables set up family-style for a communal dinner. In back the bar was busy and buzzing with action. And the overall space is not huge but comfortable and lit really well. Accent lights on the rough brick walls created a lot of visual texture for the eye. The space is open but still very personal. A landing area at top was unused and a storage area up front near the ceiling housed what looks like brewing equipment for Ponysaurus (?) Overall the Cookery seems like a great space for a corporate or personal event if you don't have a huge headcount. While there isn't much else right around here, the Cookery is worth the drive out if you've got an excuse for a visit...
