I have one regret... I didn't hire them sooner. The craftsmanship is incredible. Every stone, every grade change, every planting bed, it all looks intentional. They somehow took the Pinterest board living in my head and turned it into something better than I imagined. The crew was professional, respectful, and worked incredibly hard, even in the Texas heat. Communication was excellent throughout the project, and if I had a question, it was answered. If I had an idea, it was considered. They didn't just build us a backyard. They built the place where we'll celebrate birthdays, host family dinners, watch our son grow up. I catch myself standing at the back door for no reason other than to stare at it. These older reviews dont do them justice. I have used them twice now, and the quality has been great. I loved working with Trent, their completed work was awesome. They re-did our landscape edging with cut stone, helped use with Trees in the past, and help us move and clean out landscaping done by a subpar contractor 4 years ago. The reason we picked them was that we used them for a casita build and their grass, beds and plants looked much better than the main house. If you want quality get Trent and his guys to take a look. My husband and I are retired military and just had a beautiful home built in New Braunfels and Acacia Landscaping was highly recommended and our 1st choice for designing our home landscaping. Working with Trent from Acacia has been a wonderful experience. I wish I had read the reviews before engaging Acacia. I found it to be true that they are considerably more expensive than competitors, are only interested in large ticket projects and do not provide adequate service after the sale. In addition we found that we were billed for over $7,000 of plants that were never installed. We only found this discrepancy after meticulously counting the plants after they billed us. The plants and trees that they installed in a project costing over $150,000 were of inferior quality. Although they give the impression of being nice guys when trying for the sale but the follow through leaves a lot to be desired. read more

Highly, highly recommend Acacia Landscape and Design. Acacia is the most professional and responsive landscaping company (or company of any kind, quite honestly) that I have ever worked with. Their management, employees, and work product are the best in the business. They made excellent recommendations for our backyard overhaul (new zoysia sod and complete landscaping installation for our backyard oasis after we completed our pool installation) and completed the project very quickly and with the highest quality plants, sod, and labor. Yep! I would run from this group of people, met with Jorge and he was extremely arrogant with an attitude your bothering him. I could see that the lack of detail and concern would be a huge issue after meeting with them. Acacia Review Huge financial and emotional mistake to pick Acacia Landscaping to do our new home. Had initially signed with Greens and Blooms, however Acacia promised to do an outstanding job. They assured us Greens and Blooms was putting TOO many plants of small size and this was why their cost was lower. Acacia convinced us to break our contract with Greens and Blooms and we awarded Acacia a massive contract, paid 100% of it via check months in advance of any work as this was needed by the owner, Brian. Absolute nightmare. Price: Astronomical. Everything was upsold at a premium price now that work had started. $1000/each tree to install. When we found out a similar tree was obtained at Milberger with FREE install for a fraction of the price, we were appalled. 11 pallets of sod installation $17k. List goes on and on. Communication: I have emails and texts showing days to weeks for communication back to resolve issues after multiple requests. This review is being posted because it has been weeks with no effort to try and resolve nearly 200 plants missing from a walk through with the owner. I have had to step away from work to deal with issues that could have been avoided if they bothered to plan with open communication. Accounting: Inflated, incorrect numbers. I have had to step away from work to do multiple invoice runs with them to get numbers straight. Then I get billed the same thing again a few weeks later! Leuder stone area billed almost 1.5-2x the area covered, materials not used, swapping of invoices without signatures, etc. I have been shorted by 20% of the plants on my invoices. This is around 200 plants. When asked why and confirmed count after a walk through by Brian, the owner, he agreed something was not making sense. He thinks it is because they installed bigger plants than they should have. No documentation, no receipts, no evidence. Just matter of fact. And if he needs to figure out why there is a discrepancy I would owe him money! The burden of proof when the count is off by so much and you have been paid in full months in advance is on the vendor! Personnel: sales people. They are very nice and friendly. Unfortunately they convince you to pay so much and initially not feel so taken advantage of. Plant install: tags left on plants, holes not deep enough allowing for plants to die, new plants installed are dying, taunted by the owner Brian that on replacement of some plants that died that they did us a favor after we spent more than 100x that replacement cost on the project. Installing plants haphazardly without following lines and symmetry. No attention to detail. Multiple inconsistencies. For example, what should have been two identical repeating berms on landscaping design is completely different and strewn together. I met with them several times, writing check after check, trusting them. What a mistake. Overall, miserable and stressful experience for a product that was under delivered for a premium price. Friendly people yes. Terrible communication. You will be taken advantage of. read more

Here's a concept....I want to give you money and you won't take it! ? I called to set up an appointment to have our entire front yard, raised beds redone landscaped. This is not a small job, as it is the lot is 100' wide and several levels of beds, as well as the back yard and a possible pergola build. I was told by the receptionist that since my job was not going to cost enough money, and the transportation costs would not benefit them or me they would not even take a look at it. I live 42 miles away, in the Texas Hill Country, as they advertise they service. I am also the business owner of a service company in the same Hill Country area, where we cover a radius of 50 miles and i am willing to pay a trip charge. Bad service. Plus one of their estimators even lives around the corner from me, who drives his work truck home. Where are those transportation costs going? read more

I was shocked to find Acacia with a less than 4 star review and thus felt more compelled to provide my experience and review. Acacia completed new home landscape project for us in December of 2020 which included steep slope grading to provide a level front and side yard on which he installed 10 pallets of zoysia grass; built natural and cut stone walls to provide a terracing effect; installed 10+ trees, 125+ plants, and a complete irrigation system. I found Brian to be very personable, honest and trustworthy. Jorge was smart as whip, explaining each design detail and made quick pricing adjustments to help inform our change decisions. Both Brian & Jorge made frequent site visits to insure questions were answered and the project went according to plan. Most impressive in comparison to other contractors is they did exactly what they said they would do, when they said they would do it. To include follow up services in late February after an out of the ordinary winter snow and freeze. Yes, his services were a tad bit more expensive than others AND his crews were extremely professional, experts in their craft, and were always, always, always on time. There were lots of problems and just no attention to detail during the entire process. There prices are also high and the quality does not meet the price as I expected them too. After paying this landscaping an outrageous amount of money, I'd now advice you all to save your time, money and energy and DO NOT hire them. They were referred to us through our builder, we even switched from another company who we had hired to take them on as our landscapers as they were highly recommended and were quite persuasive. Since starting landscaping on our newly built home, they have disappeared for weeks at a time with almost no communication whatsoever and no check and balance for how much we have paid them. We are currently living in our new home with landscaping that looks like a jungle and half the house exterior remains unfinished and unkempt. After several attempts of trying to reach out to them and getting no clear answers back, we're so frustrated at this point. If a business does not care about your home and gives it the due importance, they're not worth hiring at all. Extremely disappointed because we really thought they were good vendors who would do the an efficient job in a timely manner. read more

Acacia Landscape and Design did an amazing job doing a complete landscape redesign! We previously had water drainage issues in the front of our house for years and they where able to solve them for us! They also did an great job transforming our old landscaping into a beautiful hill country oasis that I am enjoying even more now that the landscaping is growing in. I am also really impressed with their use of water saving sprinkler heads and drip irrigation throughout their landscape design. Compared to our old irrigation system which was a constant headache with areas of over watering and hotspots. We don't have those problems anymore with our new irrigation system they installed! There customer service was great during their work and even after their work was complete. I really appreciated their followup checkups on the landscaping and can tell they have a real passion for their work! I came away knowing Brian, the designers and all of his crew chiefs on a first name basis and it was a pleasure working with all of them. I'm a strong believer in "you get what you pay for" and I feel my money was well spent. read more

Owner has great eye for design, but I am totally disappointed with installation and support.

I can't recommend the company. We had a xeriscape with a multi-zone drip irrigation installed in May. Two weeks after the 50% down payment, I had to call the company to find out when they would start work. The crew arrived with a skimpy hand-drawn sketch for a plan. The owner didn't show up for instructions. Next, I noticed that they were not doing the work as cited in the proposal. They didn't remove the old lawn and replace it with new top soil. Instead they laid out the weed mats over the lawn. I had to insist on having the job done as described. Acacia did credit us the price for work not completed. Still, the discussions with the foreman were quite unpleasant. (They also delivered a 15 gal. plant they had initially forgotten.) Eventually, the final bill listed plants that were delivered without my having ordered them. I had been told they were a courtesy. I agreed to pay for half of them. Also, a water pipe had been damaged and shoddily fixed by the workers (not the sprinkler people). It leaked until the area became noticeably soggy. Acacia took care of it (leaving us with the high water bill.) Then a drip hose started to spray water in the air. It was 100 F. When I called Acacia, I was told to turn the system off, and they put me on their schedule. 2 days later, when I called again, they didn't even remember I had called. (They were very busy.) Again, I had to become assertive, and the crew appeared that same day; the bill, stating that an animal bite had caused the problem, arrived the next morning. Not enough, in July I noticed that half of the irrigated area did not get watered at all. Acacia took care of the problem claiming it was not their fault and again billing us for a service call. I still have to figure out how $ 135 (first call) and $202.50 add up to $418.55. I was told on site that there was something wrong with a wire. The bill stated problems with old connectors that were not covered by the warranty. Finally, we noticed the water bills have increased not decreased as claimed during initial consulting. All in all: a highly unpleasant experience. read more

I used Acacia for a new house build landscaping job (about $80K) and thought that it was pricey. The work was adequate, although some issues remain unresolved. I did have them bid on some more work recently and was surprised at how high they were. They bid a total of 10 (7 up/3 down) LED/low voltage lights and delivery and spreading of 8 yds cedar mulch for a total of $5400 (LESS tax). I got several other bids and the next highest one bid 15 lights (7 up/8 down with one additional one for a flagpole light) and delivery and spreading of 8-12 yds of black dyed mulch for $3,316. Acacia was 63% higher for the entire job, about 88% higher for the lights with 5 less lights than the next highest bidder. The lights are the same brass lights, same brand. BTW, these lights are near lights ACACIA already installed, and no more than75 to 80' from the control box. Based on this estimate (which suggests I had "sucker" on my forehead)I don't even want anyone to price out what I should have paid for the first job. read more
