    The coffee machine
    Varsh K.

Good place for the price.A bit outdated,bt nothing to complain in that.Everything was ok until I decided to get a cup of coffee. The coffee machine looked disgusting. It looked like it had not been cleaned for a long time. And the towels in the bathroom were not in the rack where they were supposed to be.Instead they were hanging on the rod nearby and was certainly not clean. The carpet looked like it needed a bit attention. Finally, the envelope to leave a tip for the room service had coffee stains! I might come here again.

We decided on the way to Katahdin to spend one night near Acadia National Park, so we could spend the day there and enjoy the 4th of July activities in Bar Harbor.

Our stay at this 2010 built Ellsworth/Bar Harbor Hampton was for just one night Thursday June 24…read morefor three people. Despite it being a weekday the bill was $343.35 as the tourist season had started. We had a rented a vehicle and the Bar Harbor Hampton was priced even higher than this one. We choose Hamptons because of the Hilton ownership oversight, although individually they are privately managed so quality will vary. We came from Minnesota an had just spent three nights at the Portland Downtown-Waterfront Hampton and were in Bar Harbor for a cruise and to check out Arcadia National Park. As it turns out we should have spent the three nights here and just one at the sketchy Portland Hampton. My girlfriend's daughter insists on separate beds for all of us. One great thing about Hamptons is that a rollaway bed added to a double queen room is not an issue, although the quality of the bed itself varies greatly by location. Here our requested rollaway was waiting for us with linens and pillows, and it was a decent one unlike the broken one we got in Portland that also didn't have a pillow or top sheet. My girlfriend actually commented on how nice the room was, a rare nod of approval as we are both a bit cynical. The thermostat had its own remote, the Hilton app actually worked on the TV if I remember right, there was an ice bucket and even a couple mini recycling bins. The view was just the local shopping mall, but that's not what we got the room for. One slight disappointment was being refused the token Hilton Silver Level membership benefit of free bottles of water on arrival. Maybe this isn't a 'select' Hampton. The workout room here was large and modern, unlike many Hampton workout rooms. The pool was also well kept. The normally no frills Hampton breakfast was way above par at this property. There was an abundance of choices and healthy options in bakery, hot and cold items, fresh fruit, toppings, and beverages. This included dairy free and gluten free options like Silk almond milk and Udi's gluten free muffins. See the image postings. This was an especially welcome sight after the sparse Portland Hampton breakfast bar of the previous three days. A surprising discovery I got on checking out the lobby after unpacking was the 'Iced Coffee Bar'. The receptionist told us they were the only Hampton to have one. It had a nice sign, coffee container, a dozen Monin syrups, creamer, ice bucket, cups, stir sticks, and napkins. See the image posting. My girlfriend and daughter planned to try it before we left early the next morning as I had understood from the receptionist it was available 24 hours. Unfortunately, it was taken down during breakfast. I'm not sure the girls even saw it. Other then missing out on the Iced Coffee Bar and not getting the token Hampton Silver Membership bottled water perk, this may have been our best Hampton stay of the dozen or so different Hampton properties we have tried. It should be the textbook model in management for other Hamptons to follow.

Breakfast included, regular hotel style hot buffet. Definitely recommend when in the area.

Unfortunately, we arrived, exhausted after a long drive, to the loud sounds of the dehumidifier and window A/C unit. Every foot step and voice could be heard from other rooms. Our room (lodge #19) was clean but extremely outdated and poorly maintained. The wallpaper was peeling in multiple areas and the door seal was not secure, allowing for multiple bugs to come in throughout the night. Even with the A/C unit and dehumidifier off, the loud sounds from the road and airport nearby made for a very unpleasant sleep. If you're a light sleeper, this is absolutely not the place for you. Additionally, the bathroom had multiple carpenter ant holes and the bathroom dial for hot and cold water had to be turned around in nonsensical ways for the water to warm up. The beds were very hard and springy, making it difficult to rest for someone with back issues. Immediately, we knew we would be unable to get any rest here for 4 nights. I called the 24-hour service number and explained to them the issues with the room. I really appreciate how quickly they resolved the issue and offered us a full refund for the nights we were no longer going to stay. They were very professional throughout the whole time and Aaron adjusted our stay on Airbnb so our refund could be processed promptly. After 1 sleepless night, we checked out. While the staff were amazing, this place in need of serious renovations and I would not recommend for anyone who is looking for a relaxing room to decompress and rest in.

We slept well each night - the memory foam mattress topper was very comfy. The dehumidifier and mini split ac unit in the room provided nice white noise so we couldn't hear any traffic/airport/human noise from outside at all and the temperature was comfortable. It wasn't too bright in the room in the morning. The hot tub was so nice to soak each night after hiking in Acadia, and we loved taking advantage of the fire pit two of the nights. The staff were wonderful and other guests were kind. The hotel has an ice machine and a water cooler in the main lodge, and they have snacks, dog treats, hot coffee and baked goods in the main lodge. They also have smores kits, games, puzzles, books, and just about anything else you could need, as well. WiFi worked well in our cabin. I'd be cautious about relying on many of the other, negative reviews on this website as many of them are outdated and the property seems to have made many improvements responsive to them. Location is awesome, too - pretty much equidistant between Bar Harbor and Ellsworth so you have plenty of dining options, and very close to Acadia for hiking, etc. Look no further and stay here! Prices are very fair for what you get.

Michael, one of the owners was ready to give us suggestions for food, hikes + even places to catch great sunrise pictures. Isleview is a quaint, clean little place - nothing super fancy, but has great Maine charm. It was perfect for a trip to visit Acadia + Bar Harbor. Our room had a strip of USB plug ins on each side of the bed for being able to charge all our devices. The bathroom was clean + the shower was hot. The bed/pillows were comfy with crisp fresh white sheets + a cozy soft blanket when it got cool. There was delicious bar harbor tea/coffee/fresh fruit/breakfast bars/hot chocolate in the lobby + a water cooler to fill up your water bottles each day. We will absolutely be back to visit + thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We are talking about getting a group of us to each rent out our own little cottage here next time. Isleview will be our home base every time we visit! Thanks for an awesome stay!

Michael was extremely helpful and offered a lot of advice about Acadia and the surrounding area. He gave us a list of local food options, guidance on how to get a pass for the park online (even printing it for us), and told us where we could find a detailed map with all the carriage roads and trails. He was also very attentive and eager to help out in anyway possible. The cottage was cozy and clean. The AC worked well, the ceiling fan was quiet and helped me sleep, the bathroom maintained a hot water temperature for two showers in a row and we never noticed any issues with it running out. Though we kept the "do not disturb" sign hung and never used the cleaning services we saw the staff with their cart with all the supplies each morning and it was clear they maintained tidiness. Beyond just the room Michael and Sabrina had added a lot of really thoughtful touches. There were two gas grills each with their own metal picnic tables, citronella candles, and grilling utensils. We took advantage of them and grilled some hot dogs one of the nights. There was cornhole, a doggy clean up station, and even a very nice fire pit set back in the woods. We never lit a fire, but we did stare gaze back there and saw shooting stars and an extremely clear sky. I saw some reviews mention that the cottages aren't that close to any of the bigger towns. This is true, but I saw that as a benefit. Bar Harbor is mad house during the day and Ellsworth is further from the park. And neither of them can offer the same level of solitude as this little spot in Trenton, ME right outside of Mount Desert Island. It's very easy to get into the park or anywhere you like on the island. The loop bus even stops nearby. I don't have a single complaint about Isleview. It was a great place to stay and much more affordable than similar places just a short drive away.

David made us very welcome when we arrived and gave us the orientation talk on the island, giving us a couple of local newspapers and marking down worthwhile sights on the maps before showing us to our 'cottage'. I'd actually describe the cottage as more of a beach hut (we had one of the smaller ones), but it had everything in it and was only a few yards from the water's edge with great views over Salisbury Cove. There was a porch with chairs and table where you could sit and watch the sunset. Very pleasant. Inside, the cottage was scrupulously clean, there is a small kitchen area with stove and coffee maker etc. if you wanted to eat in. It could have done with an electric kettle to make tea with, although you could use the coffee maker to boil water I guess. There's a small heater in the wall that we used a few times as we had a couple of rainy days during our stay. Best of all was the shower - great water pressure and piping hot. A great start to the morning. Followed by a cup of complementary coffee from reception, we were all set to go and explore. So thanks to David and Jayne - we really enjoyed our few days here and would gladly return in future.
