Everything was magnificent! The staff were kind and helpful. The hotel was immaculate! I can't say enough about the delicious breakfast and wonderful selection of items. If I could rate it over 5 stars, I would!

I had an amazing stay here! From the daily greetings, service, and staff all so friendly. The location was convenient, not too busy or crowded. There is a gift shop convenient for me especially last minute gifts. Beautiful flowers around the whole hotel. I think I must have about 30 photos of the flowers. The breakfast was amazing everyday. There is a Keurig in the room. Every afternoon there is a different snack in the lobby area. There are 24hrs water, tea, and coffee as well. Plenty of parking for customers and short walk to everything. The front patio faces Main Street so I would sit every afternoon to chill. Definitely will recommend others to stay here!

Front desk staff were super friendly upon arrival. We arrived around 5-6pm and the front desk staff was waiting outside to greet us. He was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The room was beautiful and huge! Perfect size for three guests. A wonderful buffet style breakfast every morning starting at 6:30. I do wish it would start a little bit earlier especially on days you are up early for hiking, but regardless the breakfast was wonderful. Housekeeping staff were wonderful and very nice. Easy access to walk downtown and to the ocean shore trail which was wonderful to watch the sunset. Cookies and Whoopi pies almost every day in the main lobby. Umbrellas available in the main lobby when it was raining. Overall, could not recommend this hotel enough. Will definitely be back!

We completed our stay in the area with one night at the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel. This is an adorable space with rocking chairs in the front, private free parking, snacks out during the day, and an ample and delicious continental breakfast. We called ahead and were told they would try to have our room ready if we would be early, but we ended up not needing it. We checked in with the nicest ladies, and our room was just around the corner from the front desk. The room was very spacey, and it was quiet, even though we were right by the door. The night staff was so very nice and welcoming when we returned from dinner. The gentleman was friendly and helpful. After a week of "glamping," this hotel was exactly what we needed. I slept like a rock and felt so refreshed. The breakfast had EVERYTHING! I wish I would have been more hungry because there was so much that I passed on. We checked out exactly at 11, and then realized we forgot a couple of items (twice, oops), so we were quickly assisted and could get right back in. Their little gift store has some items I had not seen elsewhere, so we grabbed some things up there. It was an absolutely wonderful experience!

This hotel is definitely worth the price. Location, location, location!!!! You park in their lot with a pass and can walk all over Bar Harbor without the hassle of parking. The check in experience was great, with friendly workers. Our room was ready and was extremely nice. There was lots of room and the bed was comfortable. We did struggle with getting the air conditioning right, as it's right above the bed and blows on you. The swimming pool was a nice treat and speaking of treats, they always sit out something in the afternoon. The front porch with the rocking chairs was super enjoyable for early morning and late evening. The breakfast is really nice with fresh fruits, pastries, etc. I would highly recommend staying here.

I was hesitant to book here because there weren't many reviews, however I'm so glad I did! We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were very clean and cozy. Beds are very comfortable. The continental breakfast every morning was much better than chain hotels and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the infused water available at all times and the little treats they put out for guests. The location was great. Plenty of restaurants and shops in walking distance and only a short walk to the waterfront.

My cousin and I decided to last minute book this hotel for a night stay because we wanted to drive in from Portland to check out Acadia national park for a day - the best idea!! We arrived around 8pm to check in and the guy at the front desk was so nice and helpful in planning out our trip from catching the sunrise, figuring out where we should grab a late dinner, and things to check out the following the day. As soon as we got in the room, I was like wait I haven't been to a hotel this clean in a little while and everything about it had these charming little details throughout the room and property. The beds were so comfortable and we loved that there was free parking. It's in an amazing location where you can walk all over Bar Harbor and about 10-15 minute drive from Acadia. Also who doesn't love a free breakfast? They had a variety of options to choose from and it ended up being great to grab in between catching the sunrise and heading out for a few more trails before checking out. I'm definitely coming back here with family in the future.

Good memories from our stay at Bar Harbor Grand, so here's the gist of it: Ran my first marathon and was footsteps from the start line, an amazing location, private parking lot, gigantic complimentary breakfast, very comfortable beds, and a friendly staff. We were off to a rocky start when they didn't have the requested crib in the room, but it was all quickly remedied, and everything was smooth sailing from there. I loved how clean and nice everything was, but more than anything, the location was the best part for sure. Prices weren't too bad on a busy fall weekend either. The breakfast was nice with fruit, oatmeal out of a crock pot, danishes, good coffee, and even some eggs and other things you wouldn't necessarily expect. Would definitely recommend this spot in Bar Harbor, and you're very close to Acadia as well by car.

Nice touch that you don't see in chain hotels.

A hotel with character and it's located right on Main St. I mean, how cool is it that you get to stay in an older but clean hotel that's surrounded by restaurants and shops. The rooms look exactly like what's depicted on their website. I booked my room through Hotels.com and got a ridiculously affordable rate and it comes with breakfast! With that said, there are quite a few Inns and Bed and Breakfast around the area so you definitely have a lot to pick from. This just happened to draw my attention because of its look, price and location.

A nice hotel right in Bar Harbor. The room is very nicely sized and the hotel is both close to the center of town and provides parking. The staff at check in were cheerful and helpful. They provide a free breakfast in the lobby with eggs and sausage, cereal, fruit and pastries. Something for everyone. Not a gourmands delight but a good and convenient way to start the day.

Cute little inn style hotel. Darling desk ladies. And the most comfy beds and sheets. The toiletries are bath and body works, and cleaning staff was attentive. The breakfast room was a full house! Great blueberry muffin, eggs, bacon, etc. (Didn't like the coffee, but there are a couple great places across the street!

Bedroom. Sorry the picture is taken after my son rolled on the beds.

It wasn't just a vacation; it felt like we were genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The attention to detail throughout the property is exceptional. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and eager to make our stay special. We were constantly amazed by the thoughtful touches--from the personalized treats waiting for our kids, to the beautifully folded laundry returned in a charming basket (what a luxury for a mom on vacation!), to the nightly turndown service that made us feel completely pampered. Breakfast each morning was outstanding and we all loved the afternoon teatime! Chef Tricia and her team created delicious, beautifully prepared food. it was lovely to be able to pop in for breakfast or afternoon tea and treats each day. Our children loved the nightly s'mores around the fire pit, the playground, and wandering the shoreline trail to climb on the rocks by the water. Those simple moments became some of our favorite family memories. The complimentary shuttle into downtown Bar Harbor made everything incredibly convenient, and the hotel's location--just minutes from Acadia National Park--couldn't have been better. My daughter and I enjoyed taking the shuttle to the sister property for morning yoga. We enjoyed all the beauty and adventure of the area while always looking forward to returning "home" to The Bayview each evening. A very special thank you to Vinet at the front desk, the manager, Chef Tricia, and every member of the team. You each made us feel truly special. The level of hospitality you provide has really set the bar. Our week flew by. We left feeling refreshed, spoiled, and already talking about when we can come back. Thank you, The Bayview, for giving our family what was truly our best family vacation yet. We can't recommend this hotel highly enough!

This is their number one asset, and they treat it that way. The room highlights the view perfectly, and the grounds are impeccable. - The room was nice, clean, and everything in it just right. The room cleaning staff was excellent. - The extra touches were a delight: chocolate strawberries for our 34th anniversary with a note, the water bottles, turn-down service with little gifts. Little touches like that around every corner. - The breakfast (and food in general) exceeded our expectation. Whoever they have in the kitchen is doing a bang-up job. - The front desk staff was gracious, helpful, and prompt. The concierge helped us with reservations and itinerary. Top notch. - The shuttle was great. It made the hotel's distance from downtown a non-issue. - We had a minor issue with an overly-enthusiastic dog (remember this is a pet-friendly hotel btw), but the staff and management handled it quickly and professionally, again making it a non-issue.

They were definitely not the quality that I usually get at a Hampton Inn. For some reason, the mattresses were marked with the word "summer" in black. I have no clue why. Possibly they put the bad mattresses out for high season. The other furniture in the room was outdated and the fabric was stiff and scratchy. It was not like any other Hampton Inn that I've ever been in. It felt like a two star hotel. They don't even have a microwaves in the rooms. The breakfast was adequate. They had lots of options, but when paying over $500 for a room, I kind of expected a little more when it came to the quality. The staff at the front desk changed my room but it didn't make a difference. I did not sleep good not one of the three nights. The pool area was well kept and the grounds were beautiful. This location did not disappoint! I was able to check-in via the mobile app and select a room. The hotel space was very well-maintained. The room was also great with a large king bed a sofa-bed as we requested. The bathroom and water pressure were great. There were lots of outlets throughout the room as well as an iron, ironing board, alarm clock and refrigerator. The refrigerator was larger than most and had a separate freezer section. There was NO microwave in the room...which was a bit disappointing...especially when you are traveling with kids and frequently need to heat leftovers and other items. Instead, there are two microwaves available for guest use in the lobby. The TV was on the smaller side for a room of that size, but had a lot of channels. The free breakfast they offered was great...better than expected with a few hot options including omelets, sausages and home fries. They also have some other great options including yogurt, granola, fruit, cereal, waffle maker with lots of toppings and good variety of bagels, breads and pastries. There also had some cold juices and milk available for breakfast. There is coffee, tea and hot chocolate available for free all day in the lobby! The fitness center was bigger than expected. I used it twice and it was empty both times. Though we did not use the pools, all of them (indoor, outdoor and hot tub) all seemed well-maintained. Other guests seemed to be enjoying themselves while using them. There was a small "business" area with some work/counter surfaces, chairs and outlets. There was also a small play area with a table stocked with crayons and coloring pages, books, a small tent and a TV with cartoons on at all times! A great little area for the little ones to unwind for a few or just wait while the grown-ups check-in/out. There are a few shuttles available from the hotel that go into Acadia...but we drove and did not need that service. Although it isn't a bad idea...even for those with cars as parking at the popular areas during our early-afternoon ventures into Acadia were very challenging during our visit toward the end of August. Short drive to Acadia (5-10 minutes) entrances. Also, a shorter drive into downtown Bar Harbor (2-3 minutes) or a 10-15-minute walk if desired. Large and free parking lot. All staff we encountered were very nice, helpful and patient.
