We were only in town for one night and had a great stay here. Close to town but just far enough to be a quiet peaceful place to stay even at the height of summer. The best part is the beach where we enjoyed our morning coffee. Great, friendly people who run the place too! We hope to be back for a longer stay next time. read more

I stayed at Emery's Cottages with my boyfriend while visiting Acadia National Park. Emery's is located about 5 minutes from the park and 10 minutes from bar harbor. The location was perfect allowing us to see so much without driving far. The view from our cottage was beautiful. The sunrises and sunsets were spectacular each day. We stayed in a cottage without a kitchenette but used a kitchen on the property that was open to guests. We also used grills on the property a few nights. The room itself is incredibly clean and comfortable. It offers everything you'll need for the perfect getaway. The owners are extremely kind and will give great advice on local restaurants and sites to visit. read more

Why am I not still at Emery's in Bar Harbor? 2 miles from Acadia National Park. Less than 10 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor. Private pebble beach with lounge chairs and picnic tables. We will definitely return to Emery's. This place was exactly what we wanted for our week in Bar Harbor. It was close to town, but off the beaten path. It was very quiet and peaceful, and right on the ocean. The cottages were private, perfectly clean, and affordable. The hosts were friendly and willing to give us the lay of the land around Bar Harbor. The property had everything we needed. We opted for a cottage without kitchenette, but learned when we arrived that there's a community kitchen that was a very short walk from our cottage. There was coin-op laundry, morning coffee, gas grills, and waterfront seating. We even saw a bull moose! read more

Love this place, we ended up in cottage 1 which is located next to the service area (ice machine, coffee room 0700-1000, laundry machines and recyclable area) it's not noisy one bit. I've got a bad knee so this works perfect for me. It's one of the most peaceful places with amazing views of Frenchman Bay. Sunsets are amazing. The staff are wonderful. We are staying in a cottage with king size bed, kitchenette and full bath. Omg! The bed is so comfortable with amazing pillows. We will definitely be back again read more

Super friendly owners and super accommodating we asked about renting kayaks and said he would look into it for us and came up to our cabin in about ten minutes and he had looked at the weather for us for the needy few days and gave his opinion on the best day and time for the area! The cabin was clean and came with a mini fridge ( nice for keeping a few drinks cold) very peaceful place to relax we picked it because it was outside of bar harbor but close to the park we had a great time and will book for next year! read more

What a lovely stay here at Emery's cottages! The cottages are located within five miles of downtown Bar Harbor so it's super easy to get to and from town, but they are far enough away from town to have a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The private beach is so cute and if it had been a little bit warmer I would have definitely gone swimming, but walking along the beach and enjoying the views was lovely in and of itself. The Gray's are great hosts and really seem to care about their cabins and the people they rent to. They provide a daily service where they make your bed, give you fresh towels, and take out the trash, which was unexpected but very nice. 10/10 would recommend! read more

My brother is visiting from France this summer. I wanted to take him to a beautiful spot, Acadia National Park is definitely one of those. We decided to drive there and find a place as we got there, as most hotel websites were all booked. We were very unfortunate to stay at Emory Cottage. Everything went wrong, it affected our vacation and I wished we had not stayed here at all. The manager and staff will make you feel uncomfortable, there is absolutely no sense of service or hospitality this is a money making place nothing else. 1) The manager has a very strong alcohol breath early in the morning, shaking hands and a very unfriendly attitude. To begin with. 2) The first night the toilet was not flushing. I went to the office, it was 8:30, the office closes at 8 pm. No one was answering, I called the main number no answer. Thankfully my brother was able to fix the tank, we could finally use the toilet. 3) They never gave us access to Wifi, both days. I had to ask our neighbors who were kind enough to share it with us. 5) At 9:45am there was no more coffee at the office, and the machine was off. Even though the sign says: coffee is served until 10am. This tells you a lot about how they run this place. 6) On the last day, I asked for a 30 min window, as the check out is quite early, 10am. They refused to give us this time. We left the room before 10am. Packed everything in the car and used the kitchen which is a common area in a separate cottage, to prepare our lunch for our hiking day trip. Two people came to kick us out. Literally. They said that we had to leave the property at 10am. As a world traveler, I have never been treated this way, not in a camping ground, not in a 4 stars hotels. Not in the U.S. not in any other country. I told them we were preparing lunch for our hikes and asked if there was any kind of issue. They said no. Indeed, we left the room impeccable and left the kitchen cleaner than when we used it the day before. The Manager, with his very strong alcohol breath, told me: don't forget to pay. I responded of course not, I will clear the room right now and come pay. And that's what I did. Within 10 min, he apparently went after my brother, a second time. Don't forget to pay. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I didn't read too much into it, but I understand now that they treated us as thieves. Is it because of our foreign accent? Overall, I will keep in mind that foreigners are not welcome here. Those people are here to make money absolutely not to make sure you enjoy your stay. This is the worst experience ever. We discovered too late that many hotels and B&B that are not listed on the main websites had vacancies. Make sure to check those other places and don't go to Emory Cottage. read more

These cottages are great. You'll get a great view of the beach SO close to your cottage. The area is very private and secluded too. If you go to the water just outside your cottage, you'll see the water is crisp and perfectly clean. The cottage is surprisingly pristine and clean too. I did not see one bug. Climb a bit, you'll find a grotto like area to the right side of the cottages. The cottages are about five miles before the downtown area, which lies to the left direction when you come out to the main road. My mom works for a major hotel chain and complains about anything that isn't the company she works for and she really liked these cottages! The owner is extremely nice and would help with any questions you have. read more

If you go to Bar Harbor, stay here! The rooms are immaculate, even if you stay in a tiny cottage like ours (#4). The hosts have left nothing out. There is morning coffee...plan on a chat with "regulars".., laundry facilities, a fully stocked kitchen for your use, and daily sunsets over the water. It's the quietest place we've ever been, and spent every morning on the porch, drinking coffee, reading, and saying hello to the neighboring visitors. Close enough to the tourist spots without being touristy, so close to Acadia National Park, and very close to our favorite pound, the Travelin' Lobster. Did I mention the price was absolutely ridiculous?? $70/night for our stay. read more

What a great find. Emery's cottages are clean, inexpensive, quiet, and comfortable. Emery's is in a beautiful setting significantly back off of route 3 next to the water. We stayed in cottage 15, which has a queen bed, kitchenette, and bathroom. The cottage was small (the size of a small hotel room), but I was extremely impressed with how clean and well kept the cottage was. We were able to do a lot of cooking and food prep in the cottage kitchen, and there is a separate common kitchen area to cook shellfish. Also, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park Visitors Center are only a few miles away. Emery's gets 5 stars from me in the category of inexpensive hotels and motels (sure it is not like staying in a luxury hotel, but at this price point this is the best that you will find). Also note that the cottage has cable, wifi, and accepts mastercard and visa. read more

These simple cottages were just what we were looking for: quiet, authentic, located away from the bustle of cruise-ship-filled Bar Harbor. They were also immaculately clean. Astoundingly clean. I mean I have never stayed anywhere on the water that didn't smell of mildew or bleach! Would have been a 5-start had they been just a bit bigger, with more comfortable seating. read more

We just returned from a wonderful week in Maine. Emery's Cottages was our home away from home. We stayed in cottage 6A which had two lovely rooms, and was stocked with all the essentials! The view is absolutely breathtaking...with tidal pools to explore each evening during sunset. The cottages are close enough to access Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbor, but enough removed to be relaxing. We cannot wait to return to cottage 6A! read more
