King size motel room, #25, water view
    Brittany L.

Our room was very clean and remodeled. Comfortable bed, nice linens. Brand new bathroom and fixtures. We had a TWO balconies, one that overlooked the water and we got to catch the sunrise. We recommend this place and would love to come back and stay again. The view of the sunrise was amazing. There's a grill for guests to use and I guess several places will deliver to the motel. WARNINGS: *You need to check in by 8pm *If it's a cloudy stormy day, you probably won't have cell reception in Acadia! *Kitchens in Bar Harbor close at 9pm with 1-2 open until 10pm The owner had to wait for us because we didn't arrive until 8:40pm owing to the fact that we had no cell reception and got somewhat lost in the park. He was really nice about it though. We really appreciated his recommendation of the Log Cabin for breakfast, it was delicious!

Beautiful sun set view from our porch at Edgewater Motel & Cottages just outside Bar Harbor, Maine. June 2016.

This place was SPOTLESS! I too own vacation rental properties and couldn't find any dirt and you know I was looking for it. We stayed in the motel, #21 on the bottom left side of building. Very nice inside. Spacious, nicely decorated and newly redone. View was amazing, peaceful & quiet. This place sits right on a cove complete with fishing boats anchored just off the property. Well worth the money. Owners were very helpful and friendly. Rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels are waiting for you when you return. Oh, and the bed was super comfortable. So much so I took sheets off to find out what kind it was!! Pillows didn't suck either. Very happy with our stay.

This was probably the best place we've ever stayed in! The rooms were immaculate and very well-kept. On our way to our room, we saw just how well these rooms are kept clean when we saw a member of the housekeeping staff scrubbing the floors on her hands and knees. Not only is this place clean, but it's extremely affordable. The ocean is not even 50 feet away from the motel rooms and the views are amazing so it pays for itself. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Upon check-in, we were given two maps and a full explanation of how to get around. Our room came equipped with a full kitchen and a fireplace. They sell wood in the main office too which was convenient . Overall, our stay was incredible and we are likely to stay here again in the future as well as tell others we know about it. Thanks Edgewater!

An average motel in an above average place. Not any extras but a pretty view. The place is clean and AC and TV. They don't even have an ice machine.

As parents of…read moretwo young children, it was amazing to have it feel relaxing and fun for everyone--but The Bayview somehow managed to do exactly that. It wasn't just a vacation; it felt like we were genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The attention to detail throughout the property is exceptional. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and eager to make our stay special. We were constantly amazed by the thoughtful touches--from the personalized treats waiting for our kids, to the beautifully folded laundry returned in a charming basket (what a luxury for a mom on vacation!), to the nightly turndown service that made us feel completely pampered. Breakfast each morning was outstanding and we all loved the afternoon teatime! Chef Tricia and her team created delicious, beautifully prepared food. it was lovely to be able to pop in for breakfast or afternoon tea and treats each day. Our children loved the nightly s'mores around the fire pit, the playground, and wandering the shoreline trail to climb on the rocks by the water. Those simple moments became some of our favorite family memories. The complimentary shuttle into downtown Bar Harbor made everything incredibly convenient, and the hotel's location--just minutes from Acadia National Park--couldn't have been better. My daughter and I enjoyed taking the shuttle to the sister property for morning yoga. We enjoyed all the beauty and adventure of the area while always looking forward to returning "home" to The Bayview each evening. A very special thank you to Vinet at the front desk, the manager, Chef Tricia, and every member of the team. You each made us feel truly special. The level of hospitality you provide has really set the bar. Our week flew by. We left feeling refreshed, spoiled, and already talking about when we can come back. Thank you, The Bayview, for giving our family what was truly our best family vacation yet. We can't recommend this hotel highly enough!

This is their number one asset, and they treat it that way. The room highlights the view perfectly, and the grounds are impeccable. - The room was nice, clean, and everything in it just right. The room cleaning staff was excellent. - The extra touches were a delight: chocolate strawberries for our 34th anniversary with a note, the water bottles, turn-down service with little gifts. Little touches like that around every corner. - The breakfast (and food in general) exceeded our expectation. Whoever they have in the kitchen is doing a bang-up job. - The front desk staff was gracious, helpful, and prompt. The concierge helped us with reservations and itinerary. Top notch. - The shuttle was great. It made the hotel's distance from downtown a non-issue. - We had a minor issue with an overly-enthusiastic dog (remember this is a pet-friendly hotel btw), but the staff and management handled it quickly and professionally, again making it a non-issue.

Dorothy rose was wonderful from the first phone call that I made to her. She was very accommodating of the children, and offered that they sleep on the two love seats, which made a perfect "nest" for them. The studio is in a converted barn and it is extremely comfortable. Great views, and the most well appointed kitchenette that I've ever seen! The chairs next to the water offer a soothing place to relax. The walking trails are great, with signs throughout - a "secret cabin" that the boys loved, and a beaver dam. There are kayaks that my daughter and her family enjoyed. Dorothy Rose even put out hula hoops and other toys for the boys. She has toy bins and a great collection of books and games. I can't say enough good things about Dorothy Rose and Cranberry Cove. We travel a good bit, and seldom stay in hotels - Cranberry cove is perhaps the very best place that we have stayed. Bonney D. Riverton NJ
