Came in to this location for the first time as I have been to other locations love their açaí bowls and smoothies and never had an issue, but at this location ordered 4 bowls all no issues but except for mine was made wrong, I went back to let them knoe it was made wrong and they made me a new one but wrong again and gave me a small insted of the medium I had previously payed for. Owners should focus on proper training of their employees insted of relying on other employees to train them, poor girl was running around like a chicken with no head not letting the poor guy help her with anything. read more

I'm super super picky about acai bowls given that there's TONS of places all over OC & LA, so I was super excited when I saw this place opened in my hometown! I took a ton of my friends, and though the service was very helpful and pleasant, the acai bowls were just not good. The staff kept talking about how the ingredients and all is better than Blue Bowl, Banzai, Uba Tuba, etc., but I couldn't agree less - all three of those places are significantly better. They were really nice, but the cocky-ness of their product did not come off well. I was scared I was being bias, but every person I went with felt the same way - I got my bowl with an oatmeal layer, which was dry and not warm. A friend got his with chia seeds, and the pudding was made super liquid-y. Also, none of the bowls have any additions on them, so you have to pay extra (50c - $1) for anything you add onto your bowl, which is ridiculous because those toppings are honestly what make an acai bowl as good as it is. Because they're very new, and were prompting people to write them reviews so were giving out free empanadas - we got a spinach feta one, and between all of us, didn't even finish it because it was that bad. I know so many acai places that make amazing empanadas, so this was a huge disappointment. Anyways, I wouldn't say this a place worth trying out which makes me really sad because it's a brand new business, but if you're looking for yummy acai that's worth the trip & calories, there's about ten other places I would recommend before Acai Republic. read more
